Happy Friday, my lOvely oOoos! :heartpumppink:

Another day, another moment of panic/exhaustion/panic/resigned exhaustion. Think more coffee might help? :coffeedrinker: It didn't yesterday, but it was another warm and sunny day which was at least a plus. Felt good to go for a walk with my friend.
BFF's mammo wasn't good and now she needs an MRI biopsy, which is scheduled for Dec 4. This "whatever it is" is in a different area than the last biopsy and the drs don't have any idea what it is exactly. She's a mess and I don't know how to help. I am running on empty and I don't know how to help *anyone* :/
Perhaps hosting Thanksgiving will be good-- I can channel all of my stress into that. The biggest benefit of my anxiety is that the house gets cleaned. It might only be something small like using a toothbrush to clean a 2' section of tile for 5 hours but at least that is better than nothing :floorlaugh:
[Note to self: Request cleaning supplies at the food pantry tomorrow. And toothbrushes ;) ]

I didn't get much done here yesterday - my brain was 100% mush. I have to pay bills, redo my lesson plans, and get my butt in gear for the holidays. While not freaking out how I am going to pay for any of this. pfft. That's the hardest part.

I'm going to do quick personals and then sign off for the day. *I* don't want to be around me, so I sure don't want any of you to have to deal with me. :giggle4:

@BrightEyes Silver lining for my mood-- I could live in NM and be dealing with all that snow. thank goodness for small favors LOL!
How much did you end up getting? I'm glad that you are snug inside your house, be safe if you have to go out for anything!

@MariJ I shouldn't laugh but you going on the Polar Express in this insane weather was much weirder than me making soup.
I like that you tried to pretend you were in FL LOL!

@Su_Sanne I normally would feel bad for the squirrel falling off the feeder but he's only landing on the grass. My neighbors have a big birder feeder setup and the squirrels will do everything they can to get to the seeds. I should take a picture of how they rigged it to keep the squirrels away.
Thank you for writing about the treat toys for your dogs. I bought two puzzles after Jaida had her knee surgery last December and I put them away for some reason. I forget that I have them so that is a good reminder to bring them out.

@AK_Tracy It sure as heck feels wrong that you have warmer temps than Kay! I hope you get to work on the grout today- and that you are feeling up to it. That's the key ♥

@Terri M Congrats on biking!!! How do your legs feel today, not too sore I hope. I bet the sun felt warm while you were outside. It sure felt that way here. All of my fingers and toes are crossed that you got some rain. Still nothing here in NJ. :(
if you ever need meatless meal ideas, please ask. I am collecting a lot of really good vegan/vegetarian recipes. Last night I made vegan white chili and cornbread casserole. The casserole was made with vegan sour cream and no eggs so it has a different texture than the Jiffy recipe but it was very yummy.
My occupational therapist has me using this lotion with vitamin E and cocoa butter to massage my surgical scar. It's OK but it smells like cake. I keep thinking someone's baking.
I used to make aromatherapy products as well as some fun bath and body stuff. Some of the sweet fragrances I used would make my house smell delicious! My poor family would walk in and think I was baking and it was just me making lotions and soaps. LOL

@taxed4ever I am so sorry for you and SIL Linda. What a horrible loss for Mark and the family. :brokenheart:
Please tell Linda we are sending our love to her, and to you too.

@vickyday Sounds like you and Ilene had a wonderful day together. How has your wrist been feeling?

Tracy -- you are a good soul to be there for your friend, I am sending good thoughts to her too.

Hugs to you all!! :grouphugyay:

What a day yesterday was.... woke up to a winter wonderland with 6" of wet heavy snow. Power outages all over the area... tree limbs (they still have lots of leaves) breaking from the weight of the snow and taking down power lines and blocking streets. Then the temps went up (above freezing) around noon and the snow began to melt. Glad I took photos early in the morning to capture the snow. Still have patches of snow and icy roads plus freezing fog this morning. It is 26*F but suppose to get up to 40*F this afternoon.

The good thing was I got a call in early afternoon from the electrician asking if they could come out to replace the electric ceiling box in the craft room. They were scheduled to come out this morning. After talking to him, I decided to have him put in a support box and re-install the ceiling fan/light. Showed him the ceiling fan/light in the office (it was installed at the same time as the one in the craft room). It had a 1" gap from the ceiling... and was getting ready to fall like the craft room one had!! So had him replace that box with one with a support bracket, too. Glad I had him check that one!!!

I also got a call from the gal who hosts our gals brown bag luncheons.... she is cancelling this coming Tuesday's lunch as she has out of town guests arriving. So that means I can go to the base to pick up my Rx refill on Tuesday! The weather is suppose to be in the 50's.... no rain or snow! :yesss:

@faerywings So sorry that you are having a rough time right now.... You are being a true friend to your BFF as she faces the cancer and the treatment that is coming. :hug1: Oh... I can't imagine cleaning the grout with a toothbrush!!! Is it on the countertops or on the floor??? The thought of doing that makes my back and hands hurt!! Hope that planning the Thanksgiving dinner will help you cope with all that is happening in your world! :hug2:

@AK_Tracy Talk about a turn-around with your temps warmer than here!! I would love to send the winter weather back up your way if I could!!!

@MariJ I am still :floorlaugh: over you going on the Polar Express adventure and wear summer clothes!! Talk about topsy-turvy weather right now!!!

@taxed4ever So sorry for your SiL and the loss of Mark's daughter. She was so young.

Good Morning O friends! It is a bit foggy, but the sun rise is shining on the mountain across the lake and it looks very pretty! The rain is supposed to start this afternoon, so maybe I can get out for a walk before that happens. I got another Calendar page done, that is 7 done only 5 more to go :yesss:. I should have it completed before the end of November this year. Sadly not much else is getting done in the way of scrapping, but that's ok I will have lots of time for that when I have my calendar completed and sent off to the printer. Thank you all for the kind comments about Mark's daughter's passing. I am still in shock over it and feel so very sad for him, they were very close!! Hope to get SIL Linda out for a walk today, she has been shut up in her house since she heard the news. This morning MIL and FIL are getting their new blinds installed, so last night Gary and I ran over to move some of the heavy furniture out of the way for the installers. I will go over once they are installed and help move it all back into place, because I know FIL will not wait for Gary to get home from work to do it. I sure hope that they keep the blinds closed at night, because I am tired of watching their TV from across the street!! :giggle4:. Not much else happening around here today, so I should be able to get more done on my calendar.

Ohh Chris I am so sorry that your friend is having to deal with this "DAMN CANCER"!!! It seems to effect almost everyone in one way or another! I know how helpless you must feel, but really you can only be there for her and be a sounding board, or shoulder to cry on when she needs it! I can't imagine cleaning grout with a toothbrush, but hey if it takes your mind off of what is going on in your life than I suppose its a good thing! Sending you lots of love and faery hugs!! :loveangel:

OMG I can't believe that you got that much snow!! Glad to hear that the temps are warming up in the afternoon and melting it all away. Nice that you will be able to get out to get your Rx. without worrying about slippery road conditions! Glad to hear that you will be getting both of your ceiling fans repaired! I would hate to think of one of them coming crashing down on you!!

Coffee cup is empty and the first one went down quickly, so I will get a re-fill and get on with the day! Have a lovely :friday:

Yes, we had a good time as always. My wrist.....depends on how much I use it! Some days I can't help but use it more than I want. I'm waiting patiently for another brace for that arm from Amazon!

Good Morning,
Quick in and out as I've been using my wrist too much yesterday and today also.
Nothing going on. I did go with Mark last night to his daughter's to load up some of his equipment. All I did was hold the flashlight for him. But the grocery trip didn't help my wrist at all. And doing a challenge layout today also did not help. So I will let it rest the rest of the day.
Cabbage is cooking and I will be frying some pork chops for lunch today and that will be it! Frozen pizza for supper!
Have a wonderful day!

Good Morning My Sweet Scrap Family!
So fun to wake up and see you all have been here. Such wonderful chats while drinking my coffee.

She's a mess and I don't know how to help. I am running on empty and I don't know how to help *anyone* :/
:heartpumppink: sometimes all you can do is be there for them to scream and rant and talk. Just hug her, hold her hand and let her do the talking. :heartpumppink: I'm sure youre already doing this but just a reminder that its enough. Sometimes its a huge deal just to have someone listen. As a fixer (cause youre like me) its hard to just sit and be there listening but youre doing the right thing and youre there for her more then you realize. :heartpumppink:
I hope you get to work on the grout today- and that you are feeling up to it. That's the key ♥
:giggle4: I'm always up for it! All I do it watch hubby do what I ask!!! :floorlaugh: I'm usually the grout sealer but this stuff is suppose to be self sealing so I might get to help apply the grout this time. We shall see. I fear I cant push it into the cracks like it will need.

Oh my, I am so glad you had him check the second fan! That would have been scary to have happen again.
I sure hope that they keep the blinds closed at night, because I am tired of watching their TV from across the street!!
This cracked me up. :floorlaugh: After high school I moved to a big city (Alaskan big) and lived with my aunt so I could attend college. I was able to see the neighbors across the street (I lived remote in highschool) and the would leave the front door open and I could watch their tv. It was so weird to me but they did it often. Hope the blinds help that and you no longer have to see what they're watching.
Quick in and out as I've been using my wrist too much yesterday and today also.
Oh Vicky, I'm sorry it still hurts and youre not all better yet. Hope the new brace arrives today.

Today is my one day home this month. And its not a slow day. Stress of the busy is making my back tighten and every now and again I sit wrong and my hand goes numb. Its fun trying to type and drink coffee with a half numb hand. Hopefully stretching and a hot shower loosen things back up. Because I will be busy all month and out of the house so much I want to scrap the day away but I wont be able as I started this tile project and should help with grout. Plus I asked hubs to make a microwave shelf unit so we can put it in the utility room and not back on the counter :giggle4: Utility is behind kitchen so I'm just putting it on the other side of the wall. I resent how much counter space it take up and after all this work on the tile backsplash, I dont want to cover it up with a bulky microwave. I think the hardest part of today is its pizza night and I have to get the grout done, then make pizza crust dough and clean the kitchen and put it back together to make dinner. Oh well, it should be done today. And then we can put all the tools away. Its so nice too. Really brightens the kitchen. Cant wait to show you all the photos. We went from apple green walls to rich sage green and then added a bright white/light grey glass tile backsplash and will use grey grout to match the counters. Its so pretty.

Off for more coffee and Chris the answer is YES more coffee always helps.

I went out to lunch with friends so I told David, no dinner, there are leftovers in the fridge. So I'm free from cooking tonight. I went to occupational therapy this morning for my wrist and they measured the angles I can bend. In the last couple weeks I've picked up 10 degrees bending back and 15 bending forward! Good progress so I guess I'm motivated to stick to my exercises.

Yesterday my 6-year-old granddaughter fell off a slide, or down a slide -- not clear exactly -- and broke a bone in her leg. Major excitement at school as both a fire truck and ambulance came. She now has a huge cast from thigh to toes and will have to be in a wheelchair for at least 4 weeks. I can't imagine how that's going to work out for school but I suppose that's what school nurses are there to help figure out. Phoebe got to choose the color of the cast; I suppose purple is practical. She didn't look too traumatized in the photo my daughter sent, but they gave her pain and anti-anxiety drugs so she was probably doing OK at least for a while.

My neighbors have a big birder feeder setup and the squirrels will do everything they can to get to the seeds. I should take a picture of how they rigged it to keep the squirrels away.
I think the squirrels are pretty indestructible. For a while we had a bird feeder that would whirl around if a squirrel got on it, until it tossed the invader off on to the lawn. We don't do feeders anymore; the bears here just love to visit them.

It had a 1" gap from the ceiling... and was getting ready to fall like the craft room one had!!
That would be scary, but I have to admit I'm envisioning it falling while it's on, and starting to fly around the room like a helicopter.

I sure hope that they keep the blinds closed at night, because I am tired of watching their TV from across the street!!
That made me laugh. Sometimes I can see the TV of my neighbors behind us, but it's as much my fault as theirs because it means I didn't close my blinds on the door to the deck

Cant wait to show you all the photos
When we replaced our backsplash it made a huge difference, from 90's farm style to more sophisticated glass and stone texture. I'm thinking of getting the cabinets painted, but scared I'll pick the wrong color.

Oh I am glad she's okay. That had to be scary. And yes purple is the best color (besides green) to pick. Hopefully she wont have too much trouble with school and getting around.

The glass tile and charcoal grout is a mess :floorlaugh: Waiting for it to dry a bit so we can clean it off. Its going to look fantastic.

@MariJ I am still :floorlaugh: over you going on the Polar Express adventure and wear summer clothes!! Talk about topsy-turvy weather right now!!!

@BrightEyes
You're right, it was funny! We honestly didn't know what to make of it, not being able to wear our pajamas - last year we were a bit chilly in them. It seemed so odd to have summer clothes on in a winter/christmas adventure so "Pretend we're in Florida" seemed to help. :D
Even funnier was the story announcer saying very seriously, ""While we've been here, the outside temperatures have dropped"
I also laughed that as I was typing that post, yours came in above mine with all those SNOW photos, oh my.
For sure, topsy turvy! o_O
