The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
hello hello hello!!

Hooo boy, I am glad that I survived yesterday in one mental piece (relatively speaking, of course). It was a difficult day. Gary hadn't had a bad episode like he did in the morning for a really long time. I know it freaked us both out. Puts me in a state of "eggshells" all day.
I spent almost my entire day prepping for the retreat. I had a frustrating time trying to focus, and I felt a little bit like Linda-- so many rabbit holes. :rotfl:

I am going to freeze my butt off this morning- it 34* and windy. I think we might hit the upper 40s by the afternoon. I might need to shift some of my plans around with the kids so we can be inside to warm up a few times.

Topics for today are tree anatomy, focusing on the characteristics of bark and how we use it to ID trees without leaves. The afternoon is about the Life Cycle of Trees and Decomposition. And none of that will get done if I don't get off my butt and get ready ;)

xoxo

Boy do I need to figure out how to manage my time. I'm making lists but I just don't move as fast as I used to. And to tell you the truth, I may not have ever moved very fast! :lol23:
Bwuahahahahah!!!! I know exactly what you mean! Good luck to Sydney for the interview!
I'm off to see Ilene today. Haven't seen her in over a week!
I bet you had a wonderful visit!

**Shuffles like a 90yo to the couch, eases down**. Sigh, I'm here. Its a better day so far and sleep was amazing.
So happy to hear you slept better! That's amazing that your back can be fully supported. I bet that will help with the back pain and alignment.
Been a very busy morning... Got my shower early, popped in here and downloaded a pre-release kit, talked to DD#1 for awhile, did a couple of chores then off to the library to turn a book, pickup 4 more books and paid my property taxes (out-reach program there).
You got so much done! Are you going to read all 4 books today? :p
I wish I could remember the name of the book you were asking about. I have little bits and pieces of it coming into my head but nothing specific or solid.

HAGD!!

Morning, all. I keep waking up early...5AM this morning. Body is still adjusting to the time change. I am pulled several different ways on what to work on today. Have a pre-release kit I need to scrap today... get the laundry started... and work on the Book Challenges (2025 books I have read this year and 2026 books I plan on reading next year).

No, won't read them all in one day... but I have just about finished reading "To Kill A Mockingbird"!... what a great book. I remember reading it shortly after the movie came out. As I am reading it... I can visualize scenes from the movie. Well worth re-reading it again. Yes, bits and pieces of the book I am trying to remember keep coming back. And I know that I have the book in my collection....somewhere!!! 2 of the books I have "on hold" at the library have waiting lists so probably won't get them until Jan or Feb.

Need another :coffeedrinker:and get the :laundry: started. Then it is time to do some scrapping. BBL

Yup! Had a great day! She wanted me to spend the night, LOL! She reminded me that it had been about 3 weeks since we had spent the day together!

Another beautiful fall day! It's amazing how fast that freezing weather early this week has disappeared. I went on a meandering bike ride this morning just checking out some stuff. County is putting in the framework for a small bridge on our trail that we will finish with the decking and ramps next week. Local park is replacing some Bradford pears with native trees, which I will help plant tomorrow, so I went to count how many holes had been dug and how big they are. Checked out a repaving project on one of our local streets. Happened to come across 2 or 3 people I knew as I biked the trails, and stopped for some conversation. All very pleasant and I'll count it as exercise even if I never worked hard at it.

David's blood sugar plummeted last night so I was getting alarms and was afraid to go to bed. He was irritated with me because I kept checking to see if he was alive, but that happens when his sugar gets very low, his personality changes. Even though he ate a couple granola bars, his monitor showed him steadily hanging at 48-52 (I have no idea what the unit of measurement is) until finally an hour later it shot way up. I wish I knew how long it's safe to be that low -- I'm always worried I should be taking him to the ER or something. And of course, it always happens in the middle of the night.

I also have to come up with 20 or so trivia questions for the Trails Crew holiday party game. I'd like them to be trail-related somehow, but since this is my 9th or 10th year (and my last!) I've about run out of options.

Has anyone seen the new Springsteen movie? I'm thinking of going tomorrow. I did like the previews.

@faerywings It must be tax season, We paid that bill this week, too. I just tell myself how much I appreciate having all the things the taxes buy to make it a little easier.

I think you and I are similar in style, photo heavy/focus and that's part of what really speaks to me. So, while you might not love your LO, post it, I bet its amazing.
Yes -- the point of spending the time on scrapping, for me, is to enjoy and remember the photos from family, friends, and fantastic activities, and to keep a memory of who we are. I can't get into the fantasy/fictional genre

It's so nice to let someone else make all the plans and we can just relax and enjoy it all.
I was so surprised at how much more this let me enjoy our trips!

I am hopeful that a lot of my back issues will resolve now that its "normal" and more in alignment.
I hope your healing comes quickly and you do get your hoped-for results! It does sound nice that you were able to only be away from home for 6 days instead of 2 weeks.

Good Morning My Lovely O Fam!
Sounds like Kay is having a wonderful day with remembering the book. That's always a good day. I have stories in my head that at times I can never remember the title. Not much happening here. Got some scrapping done and today look to be about the same. I have two challenges left to work on and personal scraping so we shall see what happens. Off to get more coffee. Hope you all have and amazing Friday.

Oh Terri! How scary to have Davids sugars so low. I would be a basket case. I'm glad he is doing better and hope today is a good day for him. I wonder if a nurse can tell you how long is a safe time frame. I know they'll say ER now not later cause they make more money that way but I rough estimate would be good to have. Would give you a touch of peace but they probably wouldn't do much more then you already are/were doing.

Good Afternoon,
Forgot to post when I was in here earlier.
Nothing much happening. Got my 30 Day Day 14 done and posted. Tomorrow will be posting the AJ Week 3 Challenge. I have it ready to move over to the active thread.
Ordered groceries this morning and picked them up when Mark and I went to lunch. I had to order some items to make a dessert for the Thanksgiving Dinner we will be attending at my daughter's house. She is about 20 minutes from me. And, yet, I really don't see her much more than I do any of my other kids! I'm hoping that changes by the time her 9th grader graduates and she retires from her teacher's aide job at the Christian school. We shall see!
I never have returned to working on my monthly review pages. I seriously need to get back to that! I think I will start today! ;)
Have a good afternoon!

Whoot whoot I made the bed today...it's been a month...Jay does not make it and I had trouble getting around with walker. Yesterday I had PT and they said I can stop the walker and use cane...I am so happy, it's so much easier.
This morning we had the tile floor removed in the kitchen...messy but it's done now we get to look at an ugly mess till early Jan. when the install starts.Yesterday we moved the refrigerator to take off the floor molding so when it was moved there was mold on the side where it was by a cabinet..ugh I cleaned it all and it's fine. I think we are going to give it to the neighbors across the street when our new one comes in. I just feel bad it's 10 years old now and one crisper drawer had broken handle but she likes it because it big.
Today it's beautiful here in FL. sunny and warm 75* with very slight breeze. It's only 42* where our kids live in CT.
I got a call from oldest grandson he is so proud of his investments making money. I just love hearing him proud and happy.

Well @AK_Tracy is back...so good to see your comments. I hope you are healing quickly and more comfortable. I think you are amazing with all that you have been through with all those surgeries. Brrr it sure sounds like its getting cold up there. So that will give you something to look forward to ----snow will be coming and then you can plow. It sounds like you are taking it a little easy.

@vickyday How nice that you are going to your daughters for Thanksgiving. What are you going to make?? Just a 20 minute drive is not bad.

@Terri M that is scary having low blood sugar but I guess it does go up and down. I know from a friend it is hard to keep it even but you have to try. Typical man he is not worried while you are stressing.

@BrightEyes I'm with you having trouble sleeping 4 seems to be my wake-up and cannot get comfortable so I just get up.

@faerywings Oh I feel so bad that your hubby had such a bad morning that made it a miserable day for both of you. With all that going on no wonder you had trouble concentrating. Brrr it sure sounds like a chilly walk to teach everyone how to identify the trees I hope everyone dresses for that weather. I remember dressing up and walking with the grandchildren when it was chilly/cold and once you are walking it wasn't too bad.

Woot woot!!!!! Why dont those men make the bed???? Mine told me he enjoys the bed being made but he sure doesn't make it. I got it made yesterday but today is probably not happening. We'll see but I'm not holding my breath. Its so fun when the little things are done and you can feel like you did something. Makes life more normal. Glad you got to graduate to the cane. I bet youre gonna be unstoppable now.

Our weather is so crazy. The amount of snow we should have vs what we have for this time of year is crazy. There's almost none. Just enough to make a white wonderland but not enough to plow. First couple inches get driven over to pack a back then we plow so no plowing yet, which is probably good as I would be out there doing it. :giggle4: Slow and stead and recovering. Cant ask for more.

@BoatLady I am :floorlaugh: I have the same comforter... only mine is in burgundy!!!
Yes, I am loving my new bed with with it. I put my decorative pillows that match it away. It is too much trouble to put them on and off along with the 4 Queen size pillows.
