Happy Thursday, O-Fam!
Other than being cold and feeling a little tired and achy due to the cold, I am doing pretty good. I managed to survive my day despite the heart attacks I had while paying my bills. My electric bill was unexpectedly high, especially since I am on a budget plan. My mortgage went up and of course, credit cards are up. But I managed to take care of everything as best as I could.
Caitlyn got amazing news at the infusion center. They ran bloodwork and her iron levels have increased! She got the one infusion but doesn't have to do the entire cycle of 8. The hematologist will recheck everything in 3 months. She is over the moon! And this mama is sighing a huge breath of relief.

I am not 100% sure what I am doing today- I had the day set aside to prep for the field trip tomorrow and finalize everything for the retreat. Gary has an appointment with the LLMD this morning, but isn't sure if he can drive. If he doesn't cancel, I'll see if he wants me to go with him.
Any good thoughts you can spare for him are appreciated!

And then there are your comments about public speaking! I'm not exactly fond of it, either! You can read about my day here: https://oscraps.com/community/threads/november-30-days-challenge-days-11-and-12-combined.43168/. You will get a kick out of it! ;)
What a fun post! I loved reading about your day and how many people you must help.
I get so discombobulated with my words and one slip-up makes me self-conscious about the next.

@LSlycord The bookstore and owner sound like an amazing place to be. How sweet of her to give so many recommendations to everyone.

@Terri M Were you able to see any of the lights last night?

I've decided there are two kinds of people in the world. The majority of us who feel exactly that, and the rest who don't give a fig and just go ahead with it. Which may or may not be a good thing, depending on the person.
:nod1: I wish there was a middle ground there. I try not to stress but sheesh, it's difficult!

@AK_Tracy *super-gentle hugs*
Good to see you back and hopefully the worst of the healing is over.

@bcgal00 good thoughts to D as well.

@BoatLady Yeah, I had to wear a back brace for 3+ years. The only "cool" thing about it was that my doctor was the one who advised Judy Bloom when she wrote Deenie.

@BrightEyes Beautiful siggie even if I don't agree with the sentiment LOL

xoxo

Such good news about Cait! And good thoughts are coming my way for Gary!

Boy do I need to figure out how to manage my time. I'm making lists but I just don't move as fast as I used to. And to tell you the truth, I may not have ever moved very fast! :lol23:

Taking W to school this morning and then I'll come back home and try to accomplish a few things. We are back to our regular schedule on school days. Meeting some old friends for lunch. Then back home for a couple of hours, then off to Happy Hour gathering.

I went down the vacation planning rabbit hole yesterday...that always takes me forever. Then Syd got a screening interview---and so we spent the evening looking at the location, etc.

Happy for the news of Caitlyn's iron levels!

I know what you mean! One mistake is all it takes to make you feel like sitting down and forgetting about it! But, the Lord pulled me through.....blunders and all! ;)
It was a really fun day with "my" church ladies and all of the other ladies at the meeting! Fervent hugs all around! :heartpumpred::heartpumppink:

Rabbit holes.....love/hate relationships, LOL!

Good morning!
I'm off to see Ilene today. Haven't seen her in over a week! While we are out for lunch I need to go to the store for gifts for boys and girls that our church is collecting for the Samaritan's Purse Christmas Project. I love doing that! I remember the year early in our ministry that we didn't have enough money to buy Christmas for the kids. What a nice surprise they received when the church folks showed up with tons of Christmas for the kids! Still makes me cry just thinking about it! So, I know the kids who receive our meager gifts will be thrilled! What fun!

That being said, my Day 13 for my 30 Days project will be later today. My picture will be of Ilene and me together for a change!

Have a great day!

Good Morning!!
**Shuffles like a 90yo to the couch, eases down**. Sigh, I'm here. Its a better day so far and sleep was amazing. I didn't wake up but once to roll over and go right back to sleep. I need to be on my side, but its a balancing act as there are tender areas over the hips from surgery and around the knee area which makes being on my side uncomfortable but being flat on my back is only good for so long. You wanna know what super weird???? My entire back touches the couch and bed now!!! I use to have a major gap above the lumbar area because my bum was so big from lipedema. I am hopeful that a lot of my back issues will resolve now that its "normal" and more in alignment.

I managed to survive my day despite the heart attacks I had while paying my bills.
I felt your pain. I too had to pay some bills and it was a heart attack feel about it. Property taxes were due. I had been saving and had the money but oh to write the check, always makes me ill. But it is over and done so we now we can both breath. Bills were paid and the sun (will eventually) rises on a new day.

This is wonderful news!!!!
Samaritan's Purse Christmas Project.
We do this too! Its so much fun. Our church also buys large amounts of supplies and we have an assembly night. They line up tables of all kinds of stuff and then people fill the boxes with items. I love seeing the pile of boxes grow in the foyer waiting for shipping day. Shoe boxes are the best!!!

Yesterday I swore I was going to do nothing and get some scrapping done. All I managed on that front was to download the snowbound kit and drool over the kit. I put two loads of laundry in the dryer and now they sit in the basket all clean and waiting for me to have time. I emptied the things from my carryon the hubs wasn't sure where to put. And mostly sat on the couch. I have to remind my self it has only been one week. While it was a LONG week, its only a week since surgery. Then I have to remind myself yes it was outpatient at the doctors office (has a surgery room all set up in office and its local numbing) the difference between being able to to do that and having to be in hospital for 2 days is 4 oz. My daughter and I chose the "harder" path of in office because it allowed us to be gone less time which between our hubs works and kids, we had to choose to be gone 6 days instead of 14, so it was in office. So I have to remind myself 4 oz more would have been a hospital stay. It was major not minor and one week is not that long. Next week, look out, I might be able to do the laundry all in a day.

Temps are dropping. Its now 9°. Always amazes me how much change happens before the sun rises. Everything is sparkling like diamonds and its so pretty. Well, off to shuffle to the coffee pot for round three! Have a wonderful day!

Been a very busy morning... Got my shower early, popped in here and downloaded a pre-release kit, talked to DD#1 for awhile, did a couple of chores then off to the library to turn a book, pickup 4 more books and paid my property taxes (out-reach program there). Was going to stop to pick up mail but there were 2 USPO trucks (1 filled with big boxes)that had just arrived so will go back later on and get the mail. Whew...worn out. Had a mid-morning snack but now I am hungry. Grabbed some mixed nuts to see if that will tide me over until I can have supper.

I am praying the next week is much easier for you, Tracy! So, your daughter had the surgery, too? Or was she just accompanying you?

The first year we did this was her turn for surgery. This year was my turn and it will spill into next year. Its been a crazy ride but worth all the time away getting it done. We'll both be unstoppable.
