Helllllooooo ,:friday:
Day Seven of the Par-tay and wow, it really has been so busy and fun. I feel bad that I haven't been able to be around as much as I would like but I have scrapped three pages and played three games. Not too bad. *wink*

You might want to sit down when you read this. It's shocking.
My parents didn't fight/bicker/yell/snark at each other *once* yesterday. [Disclaimer: at least not while we were there]
I know!! Crazy, right?
My mom was a little "mom-ish" wanting to help the guys by tidying their tools up --while they were still using them. Some things won't ever change :giggle4:
I didn't do any housework, she wanted to talk some things over and I listened. If that helps her more than a different dust ruffle, then that's good for me.
She was cute, she got emotional when she saw the gazebo done. The old one was falling apart and she has wanted a new one for a few years, but I didn't expect her to cry over it. It was sweet to see her happy.

Since we were out almost the entire day, I have scrap stuff and housework that I have to catch up on. The dads are coming here on Sunday and I need to make cards for them too. All of that is on my list for Finish it Friday. What is on yours?

wishing everyone a wonderful day!

I'm so behind with the birthday challenges & games. It's so hot I just can't handle the world.

@vickyday Yes, we have Pictionary as a board game, it's old and I am not sure if they even make it anymore. I have looked for expansion packs for the cards, since they are umm, "dated" when playing with the kids (I had to draw Tape Recorder and that wasn't the oldest we have done). We changed the rules (of course we did *G*) and play more like Win, Lose, or Draw, using a whiteboard and can "steal" during All Plays. That makes it more interactive and open to jokes and commentary on what we draw. Not that anyone makes fun of my drawings. *snorts*
That stinks about the forced vacation but at the same time, it sounds lovely to be on the bike and heading to the mountains.
The puzzle looks similar to one we finished a couple of weeks ago, water, mountains, cabin, and boat. Are there hidden animals in yours? Ours had them, and there is a key to finding them once the puzzle is together.

@taxed4ever The hike must have been pretty and a nice change of pace to do a shorter one too. The gallery is just filled with such gorgeous pages, isn't it? I love the parties here. I hope you were able to get everything done yesterday that you needed.
I was glad that I talked to the family about how I was feeling, they are so supportive and made me feel not so kooky. Scott said simply that if anything happened to my mom, and they weren't living at home- they would be here as long as I needed.
Like I said to Vicky, I don't know if they make the Pictionary board game anymore, but if not, they probably make something similar.

@bcgal00 What did you get at the garage sale? Hope you found some cute and inexpensive things for the house.
BTW I finished the novel last night, it was very sweet!
I suck at Pictionary and I can't draw either. I can't draw a stick figure taking my time to get it right. Forget about strange words while under pressure. Hahah!!

@BrightEyes Yay for coffee! That must have tasted so good after not having any for such a long time. So happy that you are feeling better and still resting as you need to. It will be wonderful to have you back here with us again more regularly (when you are up to it)
Of course we understand about not being here for the b-day party and don't feel guilty at all. *wags fingers*

@Cherylndesigns I forgot to tell you, I got tanning drops for my face the other day and I think I look like I have a little glow. My mom said that I didn't look tired yesterday so there must be something happening. :rotfl: I got Jergens Sol, just using three drops with my moisturizer at night. I started with four drops mixed with my regular lotion in the morning but that ended up being sooo much liquid that I felt like I was rubbing it in forever. :D
Ava seems like she would be a "bright and bold" all of the time, I am sure that her house is very cheery and inviting, I'll keep my eyes open for the canvases next time they are on sale. My house has pretty much looked the same since forever and it's feeling stale too.

Dogs are ready to go :walkingdog:

Have a fab day!

Good Morning!
It's FRI-YAY and I'm off to pick up Carolyn to pick up Ilene and her cousin so we can go to lunch before heading back to Ilene's for a play date! Gotta get one in before she goes north for 3 weeks! Carolyn and I will have to get together to play while she is gone!

Other than that not much going on today. I did cook a pork roast, potatoes and carrots, in the crockpot over night to take to an older couple from church. She has been in the hospital off and on for over a year (probably in the hospital more than at home) and her poor, DH has been doing EVERYTHING! Housework, cooking, laundry, dishes, oh my! When I found that out on Wednesday I patted him on the back and said I'm going to fix you a meal to give you a small break, anyway! So, I took the crockpot meal to them after I stopped at the grocery store to get some dinner rolls and a cake. I walked into their house with the food and guess what he was cooking.....a cake, LOL! I told him to freeze one of them! They were so appreciative! She has to get around with one of those walkers with rollers and a seat on it. I pray Mark never has to take care of me. He works so hard anyway that I would hate to put that extra work on him. But, if so, the Lord will give him and me the grace and strength to handle it.....come what may!

OK, it's about time for me to leave.
Hope you all have a wonderful Friday!

Good morning ladies. I am popping in and out quickly b/c I need to get ready for a walk along the dike with a friend. I'll bring Remi too. Then home for lunch and then over to the restaurant for coffee with the ladies group. I'll be back later.

Morning ladies :wavinghello: it is grey and cloudy this morning, sure hope we get some much needed rain! This morning my friend Pat from our hiking group is coming for coffee and a visit. She wants to check out my garden, she just loves going on garden tours, but I told her not to expect too much. My garden is nothing like the ones that are on the tours. She might be underwhelmed :giggle4: . Still it will be nice to have a chat with her! Not sure if she wants to go out for coffee somewhere or stay here, but I am up for either choice. Other than that I might head out to my fav little craft store this afternoon and see what is new there.

@faerywings - How great that your Mom and Dad got along so well while you were there! Sounds like your Mom really was happy to have her new gazebo all set up! Too cute that it brought her to tears :lovey3:. It is so good to hear that you and your Gary are getting out together, seems like we have all been stuck inside for so long, or is it just me that feels that way?? I know that I get out on my hikes, but that is only once a week and sometimes not even that much. Now the price of gas is just unbelievable at least it is here and its too expensive to go very far or do any kind of travelling. Life just isn't the same since Covid hit us all!! :oops2: Blah, Blah, Blah, there I go rambling on about nothing, I will stop now LOL.

@vickyday - Hope you have a great day with the gals!! How nice of you to cook an entire meal for the couple from your church!! I bet they really appreciated it! I know I sure would!

@bcgal00 - It is so great that you are busy with all of your new friends! I am so happy for you! I hope you get some great photos on your walk today!

@BrightEyes - So nice to see you pop in here! The coffee must have tasted heavenly! I do hope that you continue to take good care of yourself and that you will be back here on a more regular basis soon!

@tanteva - I too will send you some of our cooler temps, the weather is just so crazy isn't it!!

@Cherylndesigns - I would love to see some photos of the re-model of Ava's place! I really need to check out those canvases too, what a great idea, how come I never thought of doing that??:banghead:

Ok I better get my morning chores done and get in the shower:showering:before my guest arrives. Have a wonderful:friday:

Good afternoon.

I'm about to fall asleep at my laptop. I got waked up first by the airpod in my ear - I listen to sleep music all night on a very low volume, then all of a sudden, the music switched to some hard rock stupid song and about scared me to death. I looked this am and the settings had been changed to "play continuous music". Like You Tube - you can set it to automatically play one video after another. Not good. I yanked that out of my ear, then needed to get up. Went back to sleep and the smoke detector started intermittently screeching - the battery was low. I just hate that noise and why is it always in the middle of the night? I honestly feel like I've been drugged. I can see how they can torture people by continually waking them up all night.

Trudy @taxed4ever I'm sure Ava took before pics - I'll get some before and after pics. That open shelving isn't for everybody, I couldn't do it because I have too many things in my cupboards, but she doesn't have that much stuff. She bought some bright, oranges, blues, etc. Mexican plates and bowls and they look really pretty in her kitchen.

Chris @faerywings that's good news that your parents got along and that your mom loved her new gazebo.

I'm going to get off of here and try to lay down and take a nap. You now I'm tired when,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Good evening all. We are finally headed to the airport. Syd’s flight has been delayed lots of times. We should be in the car with Sydney and heading home but flying is a nightmare nowadays. She just got on the plane and we are heading to the airport. Finally, just a couple of hours away!

I woke up at 1:00 this morning to go to the bathroom. Then I played Wordle and shared my results with her. She texted right back that their taxi wasn’t there. She had called and although she had email confirmation, they said that it didn’t go through. There is only one taxi between her dorm and the airport. She was pretty stressed so I was glad that’s I was able to talk to her. I told Her that you can only do what you can do. That taxi was booking and got her there in record time and she had an hour before she boarded. her flights have been u eventful but they didn’t get her plane to DC until 4 hours after it was supposed to be there. Now you know how hard all of that was to me because I really want to be taking action!

The pet sitters came to visit. It is a retired husband and wife and they will stay at our house while we are on the cruise. The dogs liked them so I feel good about this. No boarding facility.

@faerywings I had to go back and catch up. I was afraid that something bad had happened. And that is where my mind goes first. Anyway, glad that you were able to tell the kids how you were feeling so that they can give you some reality to put in there with your mama worries. And how great that the guys did the gazebo! And that you had time to visit with your mom.

@tanteva Sydney really liked her time in Europe but she said that it was too hot toward the end with no air conditioning. She reminded me frequently that she had no AC.

@vickyday how sweet that you cooked supper for that elderly couple. I will not be a good patient I fear. so I am quite grateful that it is looking like I won’t need a long term caregiver with the heart. Hope you had fun with the ladies!

@Cherylndesigns well you sure had plenty of things to mess with your sleep. That smoke detector makes me crazy! I guess it serves its purpose. We sure won’t sleep through that annoying chirp.

@bcgal00 sounds like you have really made lots of friends. I’m so happy for you. I sure hope that you can get the health care sorted out because I‘m sure that you will hate to leave the friends.

@taxed4ever it sounds like your life is full of activity too. I am sure that your garden was wonderful. My hibiscus are popping. The landscaper got the bushes planted along the back fence and they really are good sized. We also have a new Queen Palm in the front. Making slow but steady progress.

I am going head over to the gallery for just a bit! And I will talk to all of you in the morning.
