This week went by fast, too fast! Even with a whole lotta not much happening here, it seemed to fly by. How come time doesn't go this quickly in the winter, or during the school year?

Off to clean today with Cait, then taking her and a bunch of her friends to the movies. Why does the closest theater have to be 30 minutes away? I miss the days when I lived 5-10 minutes from everything. Of course, you couldn't drive anywhere between the hours of 6-8am or 4-6 pm b/c then it would be all crazy rush hour traffic! No win situation in North jersey for sure. :car:

How is everyone holding up with the heat? We are still doing ok, it hot but not terrible. I can totally deal with 90's. 100's - like most of you seem to have- yeah, that's not so good. Sending cooler air to all of you.

Gary had a dr's appt yesterday and he definitely has neuropathies. The dr has to review all of the tests and we'll see what happens next. He isn't sure if it is Lyme neuropathy or diabetic neuropathy. I am nor sure if there is a way of "officially" knowing. Lyme neuropathy *might* be reversible if he ever beats down that infection for good. Diabetic neuropathy isn't but there are meds that can slow down the damage. Today he has blood work for his prostate, looking for elevations in a protien that can indicate cancer. And then a chest x-ray, but I don't think he is doing that one. His chronic pneumonia was acting up when he saw his dr but it seems better now, so he might cancel.

And to think he is only 43..... his day sounds much more like an elderly person's!!:hurt:

Good thoughts for him are *always* appreciated!!

Got to refill the coffee!

Have a wonderful, lovely and joy-filled day!!!!!!
TGIF!

Oh--- Finish it Friday, what is on your To-Do List?
I have to vacuum before we turn the a/c on. Poor pets are shedding like mad. I can't run the a/c and the vac or we blow fuses, and that is no fun LOL

Chris, sending prayers for Gary. How tired you must all be.

Glad that you get some time with Cait and her friends at the movies. Hope you see something good.

Morning O fam- after two days off in a row- I do not want to go back. I am going to though since I did not work last friday. Another hot one here today- 100 is the target. I can't wait until I do not have to keep the shades drawn all day to keep the sun out!!

heehee-- excited about 89*! Can't say I blame you at all!
Oh, I am not going to the movies- I am just dropping off. I have decided that it is not worth it for me to spend $10 for a ticket to be miserable in a theater. I always get stuck behind someone taller than me, and the seats hurt my back. So I happily wait 6 months and get it from Netflix, watch it in my pj's on my comfy couch! LOL

She is going with her boyfriend (ack) and a bunch of their friends. I think the guys wants to see Spiderman. She is not impressed, but oh well!

Thank you for the prayers! xoxo

Trudy!! So happy that you are getting nice weather- hope it sticks around for a while so you enjoy your yard and plants!
That poor dog! And poor you and your neighbors for having to hear it all day. When we first got Harley, we tried to crate train her, and she was so miserable. She was about 6 months old and was a stray and the crate freaked her out, badly. She would cry the whole time we were gone and after a while, we realized she was not going to get used to it, and we just locked her in our room. Sure she peed on the rug, but she wasn't loud and bothering the neighbors like she was before and she wasn't as scared either.
I hope that the dog and your neighbors figure this out quickly.

Yup- ITA Phyllis, the dog owner is wrong here. They usually are. hehe. The dog is just doing what a dog does. I get aggravated too when some in my neighborhood are obnoxious- like setting off fire works for hours.
I can't believe you have all male zucchini plants again~ argh!

Nana!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sooo happy to hear that you have power back, ugh you poor thing!!! How are your parents holding up?
That bites about the kids and the respite care. :( Is there a local pool or beach nearby that you can join, like I have here? So many of the moms I see love it at our beach cuz the little ones have a blast, run themselves ragged and conk out hard!
Sorry to hear that they are having such problems with separation again. I am sure the storms and chaos of being in motels made it so much harder for them too.

Laurie- how nice of a birthday! LOve the idea of taking 55 photos.
But what a sad way to end the day. Hugs to you and to that child's family.

xoxo!!!

Chris, hope Gary gets the best possible news on all fronts. i didn't realize the he's diabetic, too. crikey. good luck with all this. prayers going out for all of you. and i'm glad you don't have to sit through a movie in a theater. i'm such a misanthrope. :suspicious: i don't like to be where there are groups of humans all together, because generally they behave so badly. if i go to a theater, i go, e.g., on a Tuesday morning, first show. i saw all the Harry Potter movies with about 3 other people in the theater! heaven! but i'd still rather do the movie-on-the-sofa-in-pjs thing.

Laurie, it has to be hard going back to work after 2 days off. and in the middle of the week!

Linda, gonna be roasting hot here again, too. i'm really tired of being closed in a dark house with all the curtains drawn!

i'm baking some more zucchini bread in the basement this a.m., then going out to run some errands to prepare for making some food for a cookout at my older sister's house tomorrow. it's supposed to be 100 degrees here tomorrow. can i just say how WEIRD this is for where i live???:flame:

Happy Friday to all! and an even better weekend!

Hi again! I got an extra 30 minutes this morning. Iff to work at 9.30 instead of 9. Of course I had to clear it with the social butterfly that they were going to a 6pm movie instead of a 3 pm movie... but it is all good.

P- yes, he is Type 1, 30 years now. He has been on an insulin pump for the last 15 which has been a wonderful thing for him. I don't think he could have lived (literally) though the chronic nausea/vomiting if it weren't for the flexibility of being on the pump.
Thankfully- if the neuropathy *is* diabetic-related, this will be his first condition related to diabetes. That is such great news!

Hi ladies............

Another hot one here too....I am with you Phylis...tired of the curtains drawn and being so dark in here....to keep the kids out I used clothespins to hold them together.
We don't see any relief before Monday, according to the weatherman...Monday the high is suppose to be around 88....so yeah....that's something to be excited over!! :becky:

Didnt sleep well last night, as Jaiden got up at 2:30 and was up and down until 5:30....gooooooooooooooooooood grief...I thought the sleeping issues were straight...seems the only reprieve we get is at bed time being able to sleep all night....uugghhh!!! NOT LAST NIGHT!!!

Today it's off to the grocery store....WE WILL BE THERE FOREVER!!!!!!!!!! I have so much stuff to get!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chris.....poor Gary..as if he doesn't have enough on him. I am sorry to hear this..LOTS OF HUGS for you all!!! As for the fast week.....it was the longest for me that I can remember!!!!!!!!!!!! and we have pools to join around town...but I don't have it in me to drag three kids and pool junk back and forth and sit in the heat all day like I did with my own kids. Plus...we don't really have the money. We have the rec center that has a water park...and for County residents, it's on $6 per person to get in...and we will do that a couple of times...they love that place with all the water slides and stuff. But that's just the thing....everything takes a lot of $$$ and with Mike retired...we don't have it....:(

Linda and Laurie.....keep cool ladies....I know how you both are feeling....from what I see on the news, most of the country is included in this heat wave!!!!!!!!!!

Phylis...zucchini bread sounds yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO EARLY for the errands!!!!

Oh....Chris I know you saw this on FB that I wrote...but I forgot to tell you ladies...our electric company now wants to pass on the cost of the clean up for this power outage to us, the customers....so they can meet their 10.5 profit margin for the year....Are you *()&ing kidding me?? Like we haven't suffered enough, and lost enough already?? and spent enough already?? I was working the numbers yesterday, and this week has cost us already nearly $800 in motel and eating out and now the replacement of all the food we lost, our ded is $500...plus we lost our gazebo out back...AND LOTS NOT FORGET THE MENTAL LOSS!!!!!!!!!!! YES....I LOST A HELL OF LOT OF MENTAL CELLS THIS WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Friday ladies!! Sunny and warm here today  looking forward to summer weather all weekend and into next week also! :becky: Temps are supposed to be around 77 to 80 degrees, just perfect. Feeling for all of you still suffering with the 100 plus degrees, sure hope it cools down a bit soon ! Off to work for my nice short 4hr shift and then hooray its the weekend!! Not much planned, some yard work and hopefully a bit of scrapping, groceries of course and a bit of housework. My life is so boring :bored:

Chris - Keeping my fingers crossed for your Gary today! Sending positive thoughts your way! Don't blame you for not going to the theatre, its was so crowded when MG and I went to the new Spiderman movie, a packed house. But it was assigned seating at the IMAX so we got good seats for arriving early. It was in 3D and very well done, but next to MG was a very excited spidy fan and she was special needs, she was very vocal and was clapping loudly during the whole show. Ughhh!! Nice that she was having such a great time, but oh my!! Yes it would have been better to be home on the couch in our pj's!!

LindaS - So glad that the temps are going to drop in your area soon! Enjoy your day!

Laurie - At least you can stay cool at work! Sad about your little client's father  Hope you can enjoy some cooler weather soon and let the light into your house again!

Nana Linda - Sweetie I feel for you and your family! Hope that the girls settle down for you! Are you kidding me about the electric company?? WTH!! I say you all go over there and beat them with a stick!! Or start throwing something at least! :brick: maybe some of the spoiled food that you lost!! Hope you get your sanity back soon my friend! Wish I could help you out somehow

Phylis - hope you get to draw the curtains soon and let the light in, it must be so miserable being that warm especially when its not the norm for your area! Hard to get used to the sweltering heat!! Enjoy your get together with your sister tomorrow and hope you have an enjoyable weekend!

Well better get moving and get the day started, hope everyone can keep cool today! Try to have a fabulous Friday!

always chatty at the O!!
Good morning ladies!!

So, my world is all sorts of off now. I am kidless all summer. I just don't know what to do with myself. Derek and I just pretty much stared at each other yesterday until finally we ran some silly errands. The kids are with my parents for the summer and they are loving it. The summer in WA is much milder than here. Addie loves the heat but the rest of us would leave it behind in an instant. My allergies are back in full force...I guess I should probably take some allegra to make it better. Just not motivated. LOL!!

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. I think I'm off to do something today. If I had money I would go see a movie every single day. :)
