I'm here.
Somehow, I am here in one piece. Physically yes, mentally--- well- I guess that is up for debate
I have to apologize upfront, I don't think there is any way that I can catch up with everyone/everything. My little mini-vaca turned out to be anything but. *wink*
The OG plan was just me and my mom, Monday through Wed, leaving right after lunch. I'd drive from PA to my house, then she makes the 45-minute trip to her house. On the way up, she mentioned that my dad was coming up on Thursday, so I texted him to see if he wanted to come up Wed. instead to I could get a quick visit. (Backstory: The last time I was there with the two of them and Scott and Caitlyn, it was an utterly miserable time there. The two of them fought horribly and the following week is when my mom ended up in the hospital for a week the first time. I think I was subconsciously hoping for a small reset there). We'd have a quick lunch together, spend a little time visiting, and start the trip home around 3.30/4 pm.
My dad met us at the house on Wed, right around lunchtime. We were having lunch and he looked great, was answering a question I had asked when he tipped over in his chair, shaking and mumbling "Don't let me fall." My mom and I had run over to make sure he didn't fall until that whatever it was passed. That lasted a minute or so.
He felt a little woozy for another 10-15 minutes and then after that, you'd never know that anything was wrong. He insisted he was fine but there was no way we could leave him on his own. H felt perfect the rest of Wed and overnight. So we had breakfast and headed out. My mom has an appt today with her vascular Dr to check her renal stents and carotid artery so she had to get home. My kids- mainly Cait cuz she can get away with the most with him- have been texting him and my mom and I called, he sounds perfect. We are concerned about him driving home so my mom and I or Gary and I might go back to get him and his car tomorrow. He's stubborn. pfft. And independent. double pfft. Doesn't like to accept help.
Hmm, is that where I get it from?
After all that, it was great to be home with the four of us. After dinner, we played a new game that Scott had picked up which was confusing but fun. He said the first time he played it it was confusing to him too but now that he has played a few times he's gotten it down. Can't wait to play again.
W is whining at me, BRB!
