Happy TGIF-Day!!!:p:p:p

Man oh man, it is so cold here in NJ. Yesterday is was 18* - wind chills around 10* - this is like weather in Feb- it isn't even officially winter yet. Craziness.
Had another crazy morning here yesterday. Scott was in so much pain, Gary had to take him to the ER. The did some tests and everything was normal, so we think it was the new meds he is on. The same ones that kick my butt too- so I know how he feels.

I had to go the the Lyme dr by myself, which was fine, but weird. For years Gary and I have always gone together. Good news is that she sees a big improvement. I am reducing one med, and I don't have to go back for 4 months! yay!! However, it is kind of scary. anyone who has a chronic illness will understand- it becomes part of you. I won't know what to do without taking tons of meds, trips to drs-- but I am going to love feeling good! can't wait!!

I met my mom at the mall -- UGH!! I hate shopping. I got a couple of things for the kids, and some more stuff for the baskets I am making. Tomorrow is going to be shopping at amazon, that is something I can deal with :)

Then we had Cait's choir concert. The kids sounded great, she looked bored out of her mind.:lalala:

Next week we get to go back for band, yippee.

I am off to work at MIL's today. yay money! LOL

I am going to try and stay warm... I can't find the window insulation kits/plastic to put over them.... I still have a window A/C to get out and my winter clothes are s till in the attic.

Happy TGIF again!

personals for my girlies:

Laurie- When I can, I take Omega 3 oil and garlic- never had a problem as long as I take it with food. Otherwise the fish-burps are nasty!!! I hope that you continue to feel better!

ME- aren't doggies so cute at 3 am? Not! Last night i kept rolling around in my sleep and i would end up with my face near the butt of my old girl, who farts really bad... At least I was able to roll back over and get back to sleep, but yuck! Good thing we love our fur-babies.

Katrina- wow!! That is awesome news about the rebate!! Wish someone would do that for me ;) Have fun with your cards and scrapping (and shopping... ewww)

Hi Clara-- yup, I am singing No Day but today.......
Hope that you are feeling better today.

Hi Michele- welcome to the Daily ooos!
Your album sounds fab- that is a great kit to work with, but it came out fantastic!

Trudy- yuck- I have/had TMJ- very painful. Dr didn't know if it was because of stress and teeth clenching or b/c of Lyme that caused the joints to swell, or a combo. But I ended up having to have all 4 impacted wisdom teeth out, braces and now a night guard. but the pain is so much better/less.
How long will you have to wear the splint? Hope it works very quickly.

I seriously do not understand why people don't want universal health care either. I know that no system is perfect, but IMHO- health care and profits shouldn't be in the same sentence.
anyway-- keep *that* soap box away from me hahah!

Meg- oh yuck- feel better-- and get to the dr!!!
That bites about the shop... I hope everything works out soon.

Kristy --hope you survive the big party weekend!

nana- oh you sound like you are feeling better! I was worried about you. That is too funny about Sharron and Santa :) My BFF and I always take a pic with Santa on Christmas Eve (he comes around on a fire truck and all the kids go out to see him)
That photo is tooo funny!!! another good combo could be Dick Cheney and McCain! LOL

Meg- oh that sounds like a nightmare! Its hard enough when something crashes on you, but when someone else causes it-- ugh!

Hope that everyone has a smooth sailing, sunny and warm, and pain-free day today.

xoxoxo

Hey everyone!!

Another morning and I am here. What??? Anyway, today we are making potato soup mix. Yummy!! Actually we should start before lunch so that we can eat it for lunch. Hmmmm...

I am really bummed because I wanted to take the kids to an ice skating play group. But with it being so cold Derek isn't riding his motorcycle in freezing weather, so we have no vehicle. He was going to try and come home and get us but he is waiting for a Colonel to call him about some equipment he needs to be in compliance but the hospital is a little low on funding because of things I don't know I can share or not. But they are pretty lame reason for them not to have funding. So he has to beg and plead for some money but has to wait until he gets the call to come on down to the big wigs office. Although he didn't know anyway if we were going to be able to go because he has that new soldier.

So today we will finish the mixes we are giving away for gifts and hopefully this weekend we will finish up some shopping. I need stocking stuffers and stuff. The kids have loved working on it and I bought the last few things we needed last night. Yay!! I hopefully get to see Andrea tomorrow and then I will finish a couple of shopping things...out away from the house. Aaaaah!! I do need to get Derek a pair of Five Fingers in the next couple of weeks. Not sure where though. Any ideas??

Okay personals...

Chris - are you cold? I wasn't quite sure. So...having seen socialized healthcare at its less than finest...it just scares me is all. I think everyone should get healthcare and I hate that people have to go with out and agree that there are far too many profits in healthcare (although it is still a profession to many and they are entitled to the American Dream- hospitals should be non-profit and meds are beyond ridiculous). Canada has an amazing socialized healthcare program, but not all programs are so lucky. I can tell you horror stories that I have heard about and things I have seen from when I was in Italy. Walking through the hospital in Vicenza felt like walking through a psych ward from the 70s that you see on tv. The medicine was behind 10-30 years depending on the thing. It was just creepy and there were not nearly the medical options that we take for granted. If I had decided to have Ethan in a local hospital instead of the AF base hospital I wouldn't have even have had air conditioning in August necessarily and anesthesia options were barely existant in birthing and there was not much concern about your birthing plan. And Italiand pay a fortune in taxes...not to mention their doctors have less education. So my experience in socialized medicine was not Canada, and it was not good. But Canada on the other hand has an amazing system that is set up much differently. So not saying I am for or against socialized healthcare because I am mixed on it for many reasons...it just scares me that it would bring down our level of healthcare that has come to be expected for many. Okay...I don't bring my soapbox out much...sorry.

Also...I am so glad that you are moving forward in your treatment. I hope that means you will be feeling better. Poor Scott. Sending you hugs because I know that will mean a cranky Scott and will be praying for Scott and you guys while he is going through this. I just hopes he is able to see that it is a move forward to feel so badly.

Linda - how are you feeling besides the horrible coughing? I don't know why but drinking limeade always makes me feel better when I am coughing like that. Big hugs for you.

Okay, I must go. Ethan is making duct tape art. They made a wallet last night and he is soooooo excited about it. Going to make some potato soup and see what we think. Hopefully it is awesome.

Wish that I could spend hours in here today, but darn I am headed out the door for another work day. Sun is shining right now, sure hope it stays out!! Will be here later tonight so if anyone wants to scrap and chat let me know, I have missed scrapping so much!! Got some wonderful pics of my grandkids last night so can't wait to scrap them!! Talk to you all later and have a wonderful Friday

Quick one! I'm still in bed. I had a 48 Hour long migraine when i went to bed last night, and woke up without it!!! So I slept another three hours.

Jeff got an extra day off the week after Xmas, so we'll have a three day weekend to go see my family at the ranch!!! I texted my dad about the extra day last night anemia texted at dawn to call him, so I better go do that.

it's a terrible horrible, no good, very bad day!!!

So yesterday was an awesome day. Find out we're going to save $700 over the next couple months. Today we find out why. Our oil furnace quit working this morning. The repair is $650. and can't be fixed till tomorrow. It is currently 55degrees in our house and 25 degrees outside. Yay. On top of that our babysitter calls up and says she is sick and can't babysit tomorrow. Our back-up is going to a party. This was the husband's Christmas gala for Johns Hopkins which we look forward to all year. I even bought a new ball gown this year. So much for things finally going good for us.
