Hi my O FAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am back and I missed you all so much!!!!

I have about a zillion things I need to do today, so this has to be quick here. I promise to stop by later to catch up.

We had a nice relaxing weekend. I ended up doing not much but reading in front of the fireplace. I finished Book 4 of Twilight. It was great. I didn't even take my laptop out of the bag- shocking!
Gotta run, love you all!

morning my sweet OFam,

I'm off to get my hair cut and highlighted!! Pray that Mr Gorgeous doesn't kill me for taking my darling 11yo son in with me to get his hair highlighted, too!! heehee!! we were joking about him wearing tutus when he was younger...since he's at home all day with all girlies...now I'm letting him get his hair highlighted!! heehee!! we'll see how that all turns out. I try to never argue about hair choices with the kids....there are so many other battles to fight - and it will just grow out anyway! LOL!!

Dawn, sooo sorry you were sick this weekend, but glad to see you here today! yay!!

and Chris, I've been sorely missing your chattiness this week!! love you, hun!!!

everyone have a wonderful Tuesday!! love you all!!

Back to school today for me:) We had such a great long weekend! It really helps to recharge a little and put me back in the right frame of mind. We have a major round of scholarships that are due this week, so we'll hit that hard today and tomorrow.
Mr. Wonderful and I had a late lunch together yesterday - Mexican - yummy! Then went to the very romantic store - Menard's (not) for those of you unaware, Menard's is a home im provement store. Anyway, we got the interior doors ordered for our remodeling project! One step closer!
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I'm at a convention about two hours from here. My oldest daughter is going along so we'll get a chance to spend some time together. Have not seen her much since Christmas break. She's been working and trying to save money for a car - hers is dying!
That's about it for me for now.
Chris - we missed you, glad you're back
Sandra - glad your Dad's doing so much better
Sally - way cool - the serving dinner thing for your mom. Neat idea!
Dawn - glad you are feeling better!
Sara - congrats on the grant!

always chatty at the O!!
Good morning. Today is a great day. Not so thrilled to be at work, but hey...at least I have work. No complaints about that. Last night I decided to go and buy a laptop. Although I badly wanted a Mac and was thoroughly convinced I should get one I got this hp instead. It has everything I wanted...lots of RAM, very large hard drive, 17" screen, wireless stuff. Plus it has some stuff that wasn't necessary but was sure nice like an SD card reader, DVD player/burner, extra USB ports, etc. I am so excited and I get it tonight. I am now having to learn photoshop elements though. It was very expensive to have CS4 put on it and less than $100 for elements. So, I figured I would check it out and see what it is all about. I was watching some tutorials on it and it looks very cool. I was a little annoyed that you have to buy Word and excel seperately. That is crazy. It seems like it should automatically be on any given computer. Oh well, what do you do? I love this computer though because it is mine. Nobody else gets to play with it unless I say so and I LOVE that. Mine! Mine! Mine!! Hahahahahahhahaha!! Now I just need to find a good case for it. Any suggestions?

So, another great and exciting thing today...Ethan got his cast taken off. I am pretty excited about that for him. It was a bit stiff and sore but he'll be like new before we know. We want him to hold off a little longer for parts of Taekwondo, but he should be back to doing all his regular stuff before we know it. The doctor told us we needed to try and slow him down a little bit. Like that's going to happen. I think we might make him wear his sling in TKD for awhile though to ensure that he doesn't punch or anything with it for awhile. He wants to keep his cast, which I understand, but it is so gross. Boys are so gross though so what do you do?

I have decided I need to go on a cruise or do something warm. I am getting very cold and need something to look forward to. Unfortunately, no one else wants to pay for me to go on a cruise and I never remember to buy lottery tickets. So I guess I am going to have to actually save some money and go in the next year or two instead. I wish I could go somewhere or anywhere warm tomorrow. I want to go to the Caribbean. I found a cool one that looks awesome and the ship is especially awesome. I need to plant one of those money trees in my back yard. If only...

Dawn - your poor tummy. You guys just can't get healthy. I hope you all get well soon and start feeling great.

Chris - I am soooooooo glad you got a weekend of relaxation. You so definately needed it. I hope you are feeling rejuvinated.

Sally - Have fun with the highlights. I have been wanting to get mine done for awhile but can't decide what I want. That is awesome that Q wants his done. I think it is great when boys worry at least a little bit about how they look. It means they'll grow up to care at least a little bit about their appearance. I have one of those hubby's who cares hardly ever and he wears stupid looking stuff a lot. He think carhartts are cool all the time. I think if he could get away with it he would wear them everywhere. He's such a dork but I love him for it. Anyway...my point is that I am glad that he cares some. I think it will look cool. I used to put sun-in in Ethan's hair during the summer. It gave him some nice little highlights, but nothing drastic since he wasn't even in Kindergarten yet at the time.

Linda - Yeah, home improvement...not so romantic. It is always detrimental to our marriage to go to the home improvement store together so it doesn't happen very often. We have very different tastes about those things. We are going to have to make some decisions together soon though since we will be putting in some new flooring this year. We have agreed on laminate I think since the kids would tear apart real wood. I want to put it in diagnally and he doesn't so we'll see how that works out. We just need to find someone to install it. Next year I think we'll be painting. Mexican for lunch sure sounds yummy.

Kat - good luck with hubby. I wish I ahd that problem with mine. When mine is sick he's the biggest baby ever and will hardly even come out of his room much less work. O hope he relaxes and gets himself better though.

Alicia - Yay for hunnies coming home. I'm glad you have him back.

Hello O's. Just poking in to come up for air...fresh clean air!!!! I *PRAY* that everyone here is finally on the mend. No more puking or pink eye, I did a super clean yesterday and burned the woodburner to keep the house at 80 so that I could open all the windows and let some fresh air in. We had lunch with Gunar's Opa today, it is always nice to see him he just turned 89 and my girls adrore him.

I've got some, well alot, of laundry to catch up on and need to take a nap so I can work tonight. I have my least favorite OB appt tomorrow...glucola...yuck!!!!! I know its needed but I wish I could eat 2 bags of peeps or something instead I just hate that drink.

Have a great day O's.

Chris~ Glad you got some rest this weekend!!!!!

Sally~ I know what you mean about the hair. In HS my parents got on my case about always dying my hair. Then I pointed out that I didn't smoke, drink, do drugs party, date and had a 4.0 lived with 4 brothers, worked 20 hours/wk and managed to keep my sanity...I needed SOME outlet and they stopped bugging me about it.

Clara~ We went on a cruise this past fall for our anniv. Its the only one we've ever been on but it was AWESOME. Caribbean 4 stops on the Carnival Ledgend, we would go on it again in a heartbeat. The only downside was that I was newly preggo and got sick in the morning, but that was it. It was nice for us too b/c we went without our kids, but I would love to take them on one too once they are old enough to actually know how cool it is. At 1 and 2 (yikes almost 3) they wouldn't have cared.

Hugs to the rest of my O's. I am off for my nap, the laundry can wait!!!

Hi ladies,

I am TIRED. We moved Christian out of the crib onto the crib mattress on the floor, and what do you know, the boy doesn't want to stay in bed. AAAUGH! So, how do you get them to not wander?? The freedom is too much for this guy. He thinks it's a game!

Clara - you have to save your money to go on a cruise. We love cruising, and have been on 4 of 'em to the Caribbean. It's heavenly.

Hi Jos! Hope you enjoy your nap.

Alicia - what a sweet gift!

Linda - aren't long weekends the best? I wish every weekend could be one! Ha.

Hiya Sally! Don't forget to post pics of the new do.

Hi Chris, Kat, Dawn, Sandra, and anyone else I missed!

always chatty at the O!!
ME - I totally lock my daughter in her room. I know it sounds bad...but it works for us. At first she cried for awhile but now it is no big deal. PLus we don't have to worry about her sneaking out of her room in the morning and eating some craziness under the cabinet or something. Also...what time of year did you go to the Caribbean? My mom is all worried about humidity.

Chris-I'm so happy you're back all rested! Glad you had a nice, relaxing time, you deserve it :).

Sally-When do we get to see your new hair? I saw the LO you did of your handsome little man, he looks great!

LindaP-mmmm Mexican, my DH and I loooove Mexican :). and home improvement stores LOL, I could really spend a lot of $$ in one if I had it.

Kat-LOL, men just don't listen, ever, do they?

Digi-glad your honey is back and you had a long weekend to spend together!

Clara-congrats on the new laptop! I'd love to have one, if we can ever get our full-grown kids out of the house...here they are in their mid-20s and NO sign of ever leaving, maybe we can actually start getting a few more things we want LOL.

Sandra-so happy you are able to go see your dad, hope he'll start getting stronger and stronger soon. I can imagine how tough all of this has been, hang in there.

Jos-ewwww, I'm with you on that nasty sweet syrupy stuff, ugh! Don't work too hard on laundry, get some rest and pamper yourself a little ;).

Mary Ellen--LOL tie him down?! I barely even remember those days my kids are so old. I do seem to recall getting startled a few times in the middle of the night with one of them beside the bed wanting something. Oh, and early mornings when they would get up before us and get into things, ugh! Good luck!

Speaking of kids, mine, especially my almost 25-yr-old daughter is driving me nuts. I hate to come here and vent and whine....but....well..y'all listen so well :). Amanda is bipolar, with borderline personality disorder, major depressive, with suicidal ideation. She has attempted suicide 13 times since 2006, one was a massive overdose of something(I don't want to say what in public) that should've killed her, she was put on dialysis for a short time and luckily had no permanent kidney damage or brain damage. She has not attempted suicide since first of 2008. As a result of all of this she has not been able to hold a job since 2006, prior to that she worked in a doctor's office and really enjoyed it. She started there when she was 16 in high school as a co-op program.

Now, she is on multiple meds, has no insurance until June when she will finally have Medicare. She does draw a social security check. And lives here with her brother, father and I. Four adults, 1 house, me nuts. She won't bathe unless I tell her specifically to do so, she will actually let herself begin to stink, will not keep her room clean or clothes clean, I have to spell out for her step by step what to do. If I ask her to clean the kitchen, she half-way does it. I don't know if she's playing me, trying to make me think she's that bad off still, or if she's really that uncapable.
Right now she's not actually seeing a psychiatrist, just a nurse practitioner, it's a low-income kind of treatment facility and it stinks.

She had the tummy bug over the weekend, it's been a 24-48 hr thing. She'll be fine one minute now, then if we ask her to do something she'll be like "I'm still sick". Argh!!! I want her to move into low-income housing...there's a nice place up by the lakes, utilities are paid, she would be able to get a pet, but she keeps balking and I just can't force it, although DH wants to throw her out.

Needless to say I am extremely stressed, I try to put on a happy face but...eeeek! Sorry if this is all TMI, but I needed to vent and my friends and family around here have heard it all and are sick of it :(.

Hi everyone!
Chris, I hope you got all your stuff done.
Dawn - I'm glad you are feeling better!
Sally, I hope you have pictures for us. Matt highlighted his hair in college and got some grief for it. hee hee.
LindaP - Hope you "saved big money"! hee hee.
Kat - hope you succeeded in calming down the DH.
Clara - You couldn't get Office? Or did you not want the full blown thing? Office comes with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and One Note for the simpler version.
Alicia - congrats on the great Valentine's Day
Jos - Glad you are airing out!
Sandra - I'm glad things are going o.k. for the moment!
ME, we sat in his room, but I don't know that that is a great plan because weening him off of it was (and kind of still is) a pain.

(MMMMMM Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Yummy. Sorry I digress...)

Things at work have been a little frustrating, but I just keep trying to put it on the back burner and focus on good things. Ben is also a little frustrating. He's so funny and fun one minute and stubborn and naughty the next. I can't handle the roller coaster ride very well right now. But, we just deal and life goes on.

On the plus side, I've seriously started losing weight and feeling a difference. So a shout out here to all my Healthy O's and my friend Tina at work. We are kickin it girls!!! My clothes totally feel different. I love it. So on that note...I'm going to check out the galleries and other threads. Have a great tomorrow all!

OMG - Dawn. My heart goes out to you. It's soooo difficult. I have family members that have problems, but not to that extent. And they don't live with us anymore. I can't imagine the stress that all this adds to your life. I'm so sorry. Feel free to vent anytime you need it.

Thanks sweeties, you know how it is somedays you just feel overwhelmed and need to vent LOL. What's funny is I've even tried going to 3 different counselors to have someone to talk to and all they wanna talk about is my childhood?! I'm like, I just wanna know how I can deal better with this.
It's easy to see they just want to drag it out as long as they can to get more sessions and more $$, I may be stressed but I'm not stupid haha.

Anyhow....enough 'bout that.

I love you gals soooo much for listening {{{hugs}}}.
