36 Days Until Spring!!!

(I like that image, I think I am going to use it more than once :) )

It supposedly hit 50* yesterday and going to be close to that today. It is already 42* and I swear, it is nice to not be shivering. It is going to be cold again tomorrow so I better enjoy it while it lasts. If there is enough lawn to walk on instead of ice, I have to scoop the lawn. I did that a few times when it was just snow-covered, but haven't even thought about walking on the ice to do that. (I loooove my dogs, but falling on dog poop frozen into snow and ice is NOT my idea of a good time)

Speaking of dogs!! One of my Christmas gifts came yesterday. The family got me Fluent Pet Buttons!! They were on backorder for a long time but they came yesterday. :D We were laughing our butts off when we pressed the button and the prerecorded sound was a British accent. For some reason, Whisky's backstory is that she is British. (what, you don't have elaborate backstories about your pet's lives before they came to you? LOL) It makes no sense since she came from Louisiana so you would think that some French/Creole accent would be more appropriate. Or that we gave her the Scottish spelling of Whisky in honor of the Campbell family name... maybe a Scottish accent would work. But no, W is British.
At any rate- we started to teach the dogs "touch" to touch the button. They remembered that perfectly as long as we had a cheerio to give them as a treat. Take the Cheerio away and they couldn't be bothered. But we will keep working on it, I am sure that small, frequent sessions will be the way to go.
@LSlycord Linda, did you work with Andie anymore with them? Any tips? Other than don't get a third dog that will take up all of your training time? ;) :)

I had a really good day yesterday, the kids came to lunch with me and my mom. That was good for us to watch them and laugh. After dinner, the four of us played a wicked game of Pictionary. I put my Pictionary socks on for good luck and we won, by a hair. [One of the drawings that I will never live down is my werewolf that had chicken feet. Years later they still make fun of me. One year for Christmas Caitlyn got me a pair of socks with Ostrich legs/feet on them to represent the werewolf-chicken feet. Bratty kid. Who raised her?]
90% of the turns were All Plays and we were laughing hysterically the entire time. We use a whiteboard and easel and for the All Plays, one person draws, and one person from each team guesses. Yeah, we changed up the rules but we like this way better.

I am going to head into eh shower soon and make sure I am caught up on the stuff that has to get done around the house. I was smart (for a change! LOL) and washed/blew out my hair so I won't have to do that if my arm is hurting today or tomorrow.

have a wonderful day!

@felis I am sorry that your January didn't turn out too good, here is hoping that February and March are much, much better!

@BrightEyes I had scrolled down and saw that you did end up with chills and fever. I hope that you are feeling a lot better today. I am a wimp, now I don't want to get mine done. :( *gentle hugs*
I am glad that the countdown is making you smile. I will def. keep it going!

@tanteva How can you tell the difference between your normal brain and a mushy one?
*ducks and runs* You know I am kidding, you just set me up perfectly and I couldn't let that pass.*Blows kiss* Muah!
I hope that you are feeling much better and are able to scrap this weekend. Is Urban feeling better too?

@taxed4ever I am not sure if the trucker convoy is what is causing things to be out of stock by you too but I read that it is causing issues in the US for some industries, esp. car manufacturing. I hope that it doesn't spread more into food. Were you able to find the stuff you weren't able to get in the original order? Hope that you and your Gary enjoy the nice, long weekend together!

@RJMJ we are happy that you are here too!

Had a restless night... and woke up to just over 100.3* temp. Guess it will be another PJ day either in bed or in the recliner. Hope that I will be feeling better tomorrow.

Good morning...by the skin of my teeth...unless I choose another time zone. I just realized that I did not post yesterday. I did write a post but I didn't post it. At least it was short and quick...oh goodness, my poor brain.

So the good news for all of you is that I'm going to spare you the rant that I had about the drug testing urinalysis! All I will say is that it really wouldn't be much work to fix your phone message so that it had accurate information about whether or not you are open and what time you close. You can fill in the blanks. Way too much time to prove that I'm not a druggie... Anyway, spending way too much time with doctor's right now. But, it is what it is.

Today, we were going to go to St. Augustine and walk around down there for a couple of hours. However, Sydney needed an oil change and we were stuck with that task. Since we share 3 cars for the 4 of us, and both kids work today, we are needing to stay around home. We dropped the car off and Shaun will drop Brian back there when he leaves for work. Which caused me to think that we need another car. But, we pay $845 each month to insure 3 cars. None of the cars are particularly nice or new. We have a 2012 Jeep, a 2017 Taurus and a 2019 Elantra. But two teenage drivers and good student discounts for both don't help that much. SMH So, I don't think that we will be able to justify a fourth car until one of the kids is off our insurance policy. And don't think that will happen anytime soon. Florida insurance is high because so many people are uninsured! And we have so many lousy drivers.

Ok, enough of my rants. I'm going to catch up on personals for a bit. Spend a little time in the gallery. Maybe do a couple of layouts. See if I can't get happy again because these aren't real problems.

@faerywings I love that graphic...looks like something that could be on a scrapbook page. Glad the kids were able to join you for your time with your mom. Can I just say that I love kids that want to spend time with their families? Because I do!

Now, I am so excited that you got the Fluent Pet buttons. I am not doing a good job with them but I still intend to try so you can help sharing your stories. First thing that I did wrong, I didn't do enough of the pre-work to get the dogs to understand that they needed to use their paw to be rewarded. Nothing to do with pressing something for language...just pressing their paw to a tupperware lid or something. It sounds like you worked hard at that. That is what I am recommitting to. Second, I didn't speak loud enough when recording the buttons. Seriously, I never speak softly but it requires work to get it to record nice and loud. Sydney recorded them again, so that shouldn't be a problem next.

And yes, Life360 is an app that shows everyone's location. We just have the free version but it is very handy. And the kids stalk us every bit as much as we stalk them.

@felis I guarantee you that none of us care at all whether you are doing any scrapbooking. If you feel like scrapping, you can still use your old kits. I personally love seeing it when someone does that...reminds me of some of really good old kits that I either have or that I want. But either way, we are so excited to see you and hear what is going on. I am so sorry that 2022 has been such a bad for year. If it helps to have a place to vent, stop by! We would love to know what is going on...you can show us your crochet projects!

@taxed4ever glad that you were able to get out for a group hike this week. Hope that you and DH were able to get the new patio set out to the front and have a cup of coffee together in the sunshine. Honestly, one of our favorite rituals is sitting out on the lanai each morning and drinking our coffee. We have had to use the gas fireplace way too much lately but they are telling us we have one more cold spell and then we will be back to enjoying Florida weather...until it gets too hot to enjoy.

@tanteva I'm glad that you are feeling better. I know what you mean about the scrapping...somedays my poor brain just thinks things like "How do I do a mask again?" Ugh. Too many other things on the brain I think.

Morning ladies and Happy Saturday to you all! It will be another busy day with my Gary (what else is new?). We got the front porch all cleaned up and the new furniture put out. OMG you should have seen all the green yuck on the railings! Thats what happens when it is always damp!! Green goo all gone and it looks nice and sparkly again! Not sure for how long and we will probably have to power wash again toward the end of March or after all the pollen has stopped which ever comes first LOL.
I did manage to complete a page yesterday afternoon, so I will be posting that right away. Lots of errands to run today and I think we will be venturing out to the farm market downtown later on and see what goodies they have there.

@faerywings - Yes I did manage to find all the items that were missing from my grocery order yesterday. Not sure why one store has empty shelves and the next one is filled to the brim  . Sounds like you had a pretty fun day yesterday! I will have to check out those fluent pet buttons that you got, how funny that your Whiskey is English!! A great game of pictionary too, I love that you make your own rules! Please do not fall on the frozen dog poop today!! Yes I am sure the trucker convoy is part of the reason for the slow supply chain! I am so sick of hearing about !!! Those truckers have no idea what it is really like to have your freedom taken away from you and now they are just inconveniencing everyone else!! Ok I will get off of my soapbox now! LOL.

@LSlycord - Sorry you had such an ordeal with the Pharmacy and their inability to change their phone message!! Yes my DH and I love to sit on our front porch and enjoy the scenery and when it is chilly we light the propane heater and it keeps us nice and cozy! Hopefully we will be able to get out to see our kids this summer or early fall and sit around our Son's lovely pool and have our coffee in the morning there!

@felis - Linda is right we really don't care one bit if you never do any scrapping, heck I hardly ever get any done either LOL. We just like to see your pretty face and hear about your day once in awhile.

@tanteva - Glad to hear that you are feeling better and yes some days my brain if fried too!

Ok off to make some breakfast sausage and eggs for brunch. I hope you all have a lovely Saturday!

Good morning! I was away most of the day yesterday - Adrienne and I ended up getting mani/pedis. Well, she got her nails done and I got a pedi. It felt SO good it's been about a month. I elected not to get a mani because they are pretty close to your face - I told you all that last time I was going to go, Chuck asked me not to. That was a couple of weeks ago. I just went for a pedi this time. I got a real pale beige that went pink. LOL They almost always go pink even if they don't look pink. It's pretty though and I didn't take my own this time.

Chris, @faerywings that's so cool that you're teaching the dogs to push the buttons. Haha you prove my point that dogs will work for food. I always say that when we try to teach Daisy something. Glad that you all had a good day with the family, yesterday. Sounds real nice. I LOVE your beautiful bright sun for today's countdown. So glad that it's warming up for you. It's dipped back down today, but we were out in our flipflops yesterday - yay. It's supposed to warm back up tomorrow and get up to almost 70 in a couple of days.

Linda @LSlycord I'm sorry you had so much trouble with your drug test. Like you're a druggie anyway! That's SO silly, but I guess they don't care - "everybody gets blessed with one" these days with jobs. :( At least, they could make it easier.

Kay @BrightEyes sorry you're having a reaction. I'm so tired of shots/reactions - I'm going to wait for this one. My arm still hurts from that booster! I had a reaction to all 3 of mine! I got sick with the first 2 - really sick in the middle of the night. I just hope and pray that they don't make us get another booster.

Trudy @taxed4ever sounds like your weather is pretty good. Have a good, but busy day.

I'm going to get off of here and jump in the shower. I told Adrienne I'd go out with her this afternoon. She needs to run some errands and wants to go into town for some coffee (or wine) whichever we decide on when we get there. Hahaha

Hugs to all.

Hey there, Ozies!! I am pretty much here just to say good morning and a quick countdown. (Don't want to lose my place LOL)
35 Days Until Spring!!!
th

I didn't feel too bad most of yesterday other than a sore arm. By dinner, I was feeling a bit sluggish, but the side effects waited to kick in around 11 pm. The chills were so bad all of my muscles spasmed and are very sore. My joints hurt too and I thought that was odd- until I looked out the window and saw that it is snowing.

@BrightEyes hope you are all better by now both b/c I want you to feel better *and* if you are feeling better, I won't be too far behind :p

@mom2triplets04 Happy birthday today!! <3

@LSlycord so funny that you said how expensive FL insurance is. My friend and I were talking about that a few weeks ago. NJ is also very expensive but she had no idea how much worse FL is until her DD got residency in FL and registered and insured it there. She was shocked and I was too.
I am hoping that maybe by the end of the week, we will be able to start teaching W to press the button for "toy." We were going to begin with outside, but that means we have to go outside too and it is too darn cold

@taxed4ever How awesome to be able to work outside a bit. Enjoy the new patio set

@Cherylndesigns hope that you and Adrienne had a good day together!

@tanteva You should frame that brain scan-- be proud!! LOL

@RJMJ Congrats on the GSO!!

Good morning. I woke up really happy this morning. One of my nieces is coming to visit. She and her husband and my great nephew will be down in April. They will be here for Easter so I get to cook family dinner for Easter. Not the numbers that I used to cook for but enough that I will be able to get a good meal on the table. And then an Easter egg hunt and an Easter basket for Bo. Can you tell that I’m excited?

Syd and I head back to Iowa in less than two weeks for the weekend. Then she has a friend coming to Tampa on 3/11 so we are going over for the afternoon and to spend the night. We come back home so that I can pick up Brian and then head to Orlando to watch Billy Joel. Two weeks later, Brian and I will go back to Orlando for Gary Brooks. Three weeks later and Sarah and family will be here. Then 10 days later, we head to Europe! My paper chain is busy!

I’m still working on my office. I am going through all of the files and cleaning them out and organizing. A lifetime of stuff.

@faerywings I hear you on the “outside” button. They say not to use “treats” as one of the first words. I may break that rule with Andie though. She really doesn’t want to use her paw but she is highly motivated by treats. LOL. So am I.

I ended up sleeping most of yesterday. Ran a temp all day and had chills so stayed bundled up in the recliner. Forced myself to have some food although I didn't feel like eating. Gave up at 7 PM and headed to bed and slept until 6AM. The temp is gone but still feeling tired. The arm is very sore and can feel the temp around the shot site. Have a feeling this will be another 'do nothing' day. Chris, sounds like you are having similar reactions to your Shingles shot, too. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Not up to doing personals.... maybe by Monday or Tuesday.

Good morning. It's a happy day. Today is my 52 nd birthday. Even though I'm not trilled to be 52 All morning I've been downloading kits and shopping. What a fun day. Vicki Robinson gave me a great coupon surprise which I was able to get a few items from my wishlist from her store. Also found a after 50 freebie from Karen today. And of course I had to get some physical items like a new fountain pen from goulet (they gave me a coupon for some free sample inks).

My hubby got me a lap desk for my computer and my kids gave me gift certs for some stores plus a hufflepuff water bottle and sweatshirt. I guess it's time to read the last book! I've been putting it off forever.

Chris and Kay, sorry that the side effects are so bad for you!
Thanks, Trudy, I love you too! Have fun with Gary!
Linda, I was very curious about the dog's button, it sounds as a lots of fun.

Wave to the other girls!

...you can show us your crochet projects!

Oh, you know how to melt me. I promised to Chris to show the things I crochet in January, but I'm not take any pictures yet. I'm not make anything this month and I can't believe how fast we are at the middle of it.
But either way, we are so excited to see you and hear what is going on. I am so sorry that 2022 has been such a bad for year. If it helps to have a place to vent, stop by! We would love to know what is going on...
Believe me no one needs to hear complaints!
Have few crises that occur at my personal life all at once.
Add to this our fear and frustration about the upcoming war at Ukraine, something that is so strange to be a topic in a modern days, but it is. If diplomacy fails, my country will be on a battleground, my sea will be in blood (because we are our partners), and US will earn from weapon sale. Sweeet!:eek:
I'll not going at more details or I'll drop down the vibration of all of us. No one needs this at the weekend or at any other time.
