36 Days Until Spring!!!
(I like that image, I think I am going to use it more than once )
It supposedly hit 50* yesterday and going to be close to that today. It is already 42* and I swear, it is nice to not be shivering. It is going to be cold again tomorrow so I better enjoy it while it lasts. If there is enough lawn to walk on instead of ice, I have to scoop the lawn. I did that a few times when it was just snow-covered, but haven't even thought about walking on the ice to do that. (I loooove my dogs, but falling on dog poop frozen into snow and ice is NOT my idea of a good time)
Speaking of dogs!! One of my Christmas gifts came yesterday. The family got me Fluent Pet Buttons!! They were on backorder for a long time but they came yesterday. We were laughing our butts off when we pressed the button and the prerecorded sound was a British accent. For some reason, Whisky's backstory is that she is British. (what, you don't have elaborate backstories about your pet's lives before they came to you? LOL) It makes no sense since she came from Louisiana so you would think that some French/Creole accent would be more appropriate. Or that we gave her the Scottish spelling of Whisky in honor of the Campbell family name... maybe a Scottish accent would work. But no, W is British.
At any rate- we started to teach the dogs "touch" to touch the button. They remembered that perfectly as long as we had a cheerio to give them as a treat. Take the Cheerio away and they couldn't be bothered. But we will keep working on it, I am sure that small, frequent sessions will be the way to go.
@LSlycord Linda, did you work with Andie anymore with them? Any tips? Other than don't get a third dog that will take up all of your training time?
I had a really good day yesterday, the kids came to lunch with me and my mom. That was good for us to watch them and laugh. After dinner, the four of us played a wicked game of Pictionary. I put my Pictionary socks on for good luck and we won, by a hair. [One of the drawings that I will never live down is my werewolf that had chicken feet. Years later they still make fun of me. One year for Christmas Caitlyn got me a pair of socks with Ostrich legs/feet on them to represent the werewolf-chicken feet. Bratty kid. Who raised her?]
90% of the turns were All Plays and we were laughing hysterically the entire time. We use a whiteboard and easel and for the All Plays, one person draws, and one person from each team guesses. Yeah, we changed up the rules but we like this way better.
I am going to head into eh shower soon and make sure I am caught up on the stuff that has to get done around the house. I was smart (for a change! LOL) and washed/blew out my hair so I won't have to do that if my arm is hurting today or tomorrow.
have a wonderful day!
