Hello and Happy Weekend, my dears.

Who is ready for the day? I think I am. I have no choice in the matter honestly. The day is gonna keep coming at me whether I am ready or not. heh
I possibly had a successful day shopping yesterday. I was too drained when I got home to make an objective assessment. I am getting closer to being done. Hopefully, I won't have to do much more. Soon after I got back, my neighbor asked if I could make something for her- 7-8 times in the $5-10 dollar range. I am going to make some shower gel/guest soap bags today since she needs them before Tuesday. The coffee butter came out really nice! I have to say, better than I expected. I even wrote down notes so I remember what to do and change for next year. It is a little softer than the butter I purchase so I will knock down some of the candelilla wax and coconut oil and increase the cocoa butter ratios. And I will definitely double the recipe. It smells really amazing. I have to say, the process was much easier than I expected even if it was time-consuming. The next step is turning the butter into a finished product. Coffee scrubs and maybe a hand cream?

I have to work on that this morning because I am popping over to see my friend across the street this afternoon to catch up with some drinks. I probably won't be up for much after that hahahaha!

I am still mostly MIA from the party and I feel awful about that. There are still a few days left, right?

Have fun today!

I hope that all of you and your families are safe and sound, the news about the tornadoes last night was horrific.

@LSlycord That was smart of you to pack a bag just in case you weren't up for the drive. I probably would have pushed home as well.
Is Florida State in the northern part of FL? Guessing that since you mentioned the leaves. Glad to hear that she has a lot of options.

@Susan - s3js Hi! Nice to see you pop into the Daily Ooos!

@felis I looked more closely at the lump in Jaida's ear and now that it isn't covered in dried blood it doesn't look like a papilloma, it is smooth and hard, not that cauliflower texture.
It does stink about the job for Scott not coming through. It would have been perfect. He still will have the park ranger job if he wants it and he can also work hours here and there at the ecology center. But nothing full-time which is what he wants. So few of his friends have jobs in the areas where they went to school for. Thanks for the idea of looking on IG for jobs, I never would have thought of that :)
I am really happy that 2021 was a great year for you and am excited to see what 2022 brings <3
I still haven't had a chance to watch the video Eva shared but I think I really should. And soon!

@LSlycord If *I* can crochet -- anyone can LOL I have heard a lot of people say knitting is easier but I couldn't get both hands coordinated hahaha.

@BrightEyes Yes. There is *always* something going on at my house. Non-stop wackery heh

@@bcgal00 Yay for Taz!!!!!!!! I was sending poop vibes to him and have probably never been happier to hear that he did it! My sweet boy. His tummy must feel awful but not so much that he can't play with his sister :)
It is like having a toddler in the house with the Christmas tree and Remi
That is what happens every year with me too- I b**** and moan every day leading up to Christmas but everything always turns out amazing. It will for you too.
I missed that-- "the ultimate present" Bwuhahahahah!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D

@taxed4ever One more week until the family is with you! That is so exciting. Everything is going to be perfect as long as you are together.
I bet the tree looks very pretty! Did you put the Santas on the stairs (that was you that had the beautiful Santas on the staircase that you painted last year? ) Hope that your Gary doesn't make you go shopping this weekend. It will be crowded.

@Cherylndesigns Great news about your shoulder!! I am surprised that the dr office would have scented candles burning. I know so many people who have a sensitivity/allergy to them and to perfumes. I try to be very conscious of that when I know I am going to be in close proximity. Sorry that it gave you a migraine. The oils I work with are very concentrated and they end up giving me a headache too but I can at least control that.
Glad that you are able to get the boosters at Walgreen's. I was going to suggest seeing if your state's Dept of Health had a vaccine locater. NJ has a website that you can put in your zip code and it gives you all of the places nearby that have them. Then you can book your appt right from there.
I hope that you are able to work it out so you get to spend lots of time with everyone

I LOVE those pics!!! Yup- both our families are cray-cray!

Good morning. Yes...ready for the weekend although it isn't that much different from the rest of the week.

Have you seen the dogs who communicate with buttons? What about Bunny is one of the sites. The dogs press the buttons when they want to talk to their owners. It is called Fluent Pet. Well, I broke down in November and bought those. They came right before we went to Iowa so I didn't get them out to get started. Well today is the day...I recorded 3 words and placed the buttons on the floor. I have "outside", "water" and "office". These are all words that Andie knows so we will see if she will start using them to communicate with us. This will be an adventure.

Also, my pantry needs to be organized. We have now been in this house 2 years (as of yesterday). Are you kidding me? Really? My pantry is to die for...6 x 7 with lots of shelves. So many shelves that I can just keep stuffing things in there. Well, guess what? I just found 4 rolls of parchment paper...2 are open. I like parchment paper but no one in the world requires 2 rolls!

Other things on the to do list---invited the neighbors for supper so I need to figure out what we are doing. I don't have any idea...or maybe I should say I have lots of ideas but no plan. Anyway, there is plenty to do and we are going to hit the 80's today so I want to be sure to get some of time out of the house. Brian is heading to get a Covid booster this morning. I've had mine for several weeks. Will be glad to have him with one as well.

@faerywings ok, now I finally understand the coffee butter. I love the smell of coffee! Brian and I drink coffee all of the time but neither of the kids drink it. On the way to Florida State, I stopped at McDonalds for a coffee. Syd decided to take a drink then repeated how she is never going to drink coffee. That's ok, I was saying the same thing at her age. LOL And yes, FSU is in northern Florida on the west side of the state in Tallahassee. We live in northern Florida but on the east side of the state near Jacksonville. So the drive was pretty much a straight line across northern Florida.

@taxed4ever oh wow...everyone will be home before you know it. Yes, I'm sure that there is a lot to get done before they all get there. Love that you will have them for so long though!

@Cherylndesigns I can't believe that the nurses had scented candles in the doctor's office. We had a policy where I worked that there would be no scents because so many people were so sensitive to it. I'm so sorry that it triggered a migraine. I used to get awful migraines and then, in my 30's they started to disappear. Now, I don't remember having one in the last 2 1/2 years since I came to Florida. I hope that yours subsided quickly.

@bcgal00 hope that you were able to get a lot accomplished yesterday. I think that I was very busy but don't think that I accomplished much.

Have a great weekend all!

Morning, all. It is COLD... it was 22*F when I got up and now it is18*F!!! Yikes!! Yes, the cold front came through but no snow in the valley... just in the mountains and some to the east of us.

Just got word from DD#2 that the tornado that hit Branson, MO was about 4 miles from them and they are okay. Wow, there was so much damage from the storms.. that is more like Spring storms rather than Winter! My heart aches for all who are affected by them.

I got side-tracked yesterday with business phone call.. then sending messages to the kids.. etc... so didn't get my nails clipped. So that is on the agenda for today. I need to look for a 'white elephant' gift to take to the lunch on Monday and also figure out what I want to fix for the brown bag lunch.

@Cherylndesigns so sorry you got a migraine from the scented candle at the doctor's office. All of them here have a 'no fragrance' policy and signs all over about not wearing scents when there. I am allergic to rose oil so react to a lot of perfumes. Don't think I have used any for the past 4 years or longer. Hope the migraine has eased and you are feeling better now. You should call the doctor's office and report that the candles affected you... they should know better. BTW, such cute photos of the gals.

@LSlycord I never heard of buttons for pets to use to communicate with humans. Let us know how they work with your fur babies.

@faerywings Thanks for explaining the uses of the coffee butter. Sounds like you have things under control even if you don't feel like it.

@taxed4ever Oh... I remember the Santas on the staircase! So glad you are getting to have the kids for a few days visit. Enjoy your time with them.

Off to get dressed... need to pull out the long johns for sure!

Who is ready for the day?

I'm not ... and it's 3.22 pm here LOL

So tired after working 2 days in a row. And yesterday was one of those days when EVERYTHING goes wrong ... and I mean everything, down to the detail of having super glue all over your fingers & trying to rub it off with hand sanitizer. LOL

We've gotten tons of snow over night. They said it will melt away before Christmas, I had to take some photos today, even though the light is horrible. I hope I can fix it a bit in PSE to make some layouts.

Got some new yarn yesterday ... probably the last yarn I will buy for a year! My new year's resolution is: NOT BUYING YARN DURING 2022! I've said 2 exceptions:
1. If I really like the 2 last boxes from my yarn advent calendar, I will buy one for December next year as well (really love the 2 first boxes)
and 2. If someone wants me to knit/crochet something specific for them, and I don't have the right yarn, I can get that. (Since noone ever has asked me to knit/crochet for them, I'd say this won't happen LOL)

Now I need to get started on dinner. Not sure exactly, but I'll make something to go with rice. We'll see what happens when I enter the kitchen. I'm a master at planning ahead. LOL

Good morning ladies. I've got a busy day ahead. A bit of CT work, getting Xmas decorations out for Bailey, Jen and I to decorate it after lunch today. First we'll pick up B, then take her to the pet store, she wants to buy a Xmas gift for each dog, then go home to eat some take-out we'll grab on the way back and then get the tree up. Depending on how B feels, we might watch a movie before taking her back for dinner at the carehome. The day will fly by.

For those of you who have spent sleepless nights worrying about "How will Eva manage to make a layout with Foxeysquirrel's kit???" ... you can all relax now! I've done it. LOL

I had this idea, that all the characters in her kits would be great to use for a genealogy layout, and that's what I did. But I won't be posting it until tomorrow (cuz I filled my quota of allowed layouts in one of the other galleries) - now you have to lose sleep tonight, wondering "What will Eva be telling us about her great great great great great great great grandmother????!"

I was so upset about getting that migraine. Hadn't had one for EVER! I didn't tell you that the MA who took me to a room got snarky with me when I complained. By that time, I was NOT ready for snarky. She said "well, everybody else likes it". I said, "Well, I don't!" They probably talked about me after we left, but by then, my head was coming off my neck. Hopefully, that's the last time I'll be there.

So, you're sensitive to the oils you work with? Some of them are SO intense - I remember that. A little goes a long way. Peppermint oil about did me in - I don't buy that stuff anymore. There's only one scent of candle I can burn - Sage or Citrus.& Sage. Yankee Candle makes an awesome Citrus & Sage. It's very clean and light. I just ordered Pure Sage Candles on a recurring delivery - from Amazon. I love those little tins they come in. I get 2 tins at a time. The tins I get are for Energy Cleansing.

Yes, I think our families are very much alike. Everybody just piles in and piles on top of each other.

Hope that your day goes smoothly and I saw the bit about drinks. LOL

Those communication buttons sound fun and our Daisy is SO smart that I should try it. We think she's the smartest dog we've ever had. We thought our Poodle was - we had Samantha shortly after we were married, so she was our first, but we think Daisy is running neck and neck with her. Daisy's a Labradoodle. We've had some smart Labs, too, so she seems to be the best of the two breeds. Chuck argues that "his dog", Bailey was just as smart - it's a running joke. Bailey was his constant companion.

Your pantry sounds wonderful - our house in Florida had a huge walk-in pantry and they're SO nice.

Kay, weren't those storms horrible? I didn't hear that Branson got hit. They were all around us - Arkansas, parts of Mo and of course, poor KY. 70 people dead, there? I haven't turned on the news yet. SO awful!

Your weather sounds just like ours - it was 75 yesterday and it's a high of 49 today. Looks like it's going to warm back up though. You're colder than we are.

Glad I'm not the only one who's allergic to smells. I really should report that to somebody, but I'm not sure who. Maybe they don't have that "no perfume" rule here. I sure did suffer from it!

Of course, I did it in 2018 (or if it was in 2019). And I didn't run out during that year - still have tons of yarn left. And I've just hoarded more since then. LOL I have one closet (like a small walk in closet), 2 wardrobes, 1 cupboard and one of these carts from IKEA https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/raskog-utility-cart-white-20382932/
all - FULL of yarn. And then I'm not counting all the yarn that has migrated to various places around the house.

Here it is - my layout made with Foxeysquirrel's Billas Touch:

Translation:
Catharina Harkman was my great great great great great great great grandmother. She was born on October 12, 1711 in Romfartuna, Västmanland [Sweadish county], and was the daughter of vicar Widich Harkman and his wife Brita Lidman. Catharina marries Johannes Gezelius who also was a vicar. Together they have seven children, before Johannes has his divorce from his wife in 1750, "as she drinks, smokes, dances in her underwear and fraternizing with farm-workers and their likes". She dies in 1751 from edema.

Just imagine THE SCANDAL! She must have been the talk of the town. Getting a divorce granted in those days wasn't easy.

I think Foxeysquirrel's kits will be perfect for scrapping the stories from my genealogy where there is no images of the ancestors.

What a genius idea to use the kits this way! And what a marvelous story. She wasn’t that old when she died and leaving behind seven children. I love genealogy. I will anxiously await more.

Good morning O-Fam!!!
My house smellllllllsssss ssssssssssssssssssooooooooooooooooooooooo ggggooooooooooooooooooooooooooodddddddd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I made the shower gels yesterday and scented half with Spiced Apple Bourbon and half with Pumpkin Vanilla Chai. My neighbor needed some for men, some for women so I picked two unisex fragrances. Everything is bottled and labeled, just need to have the ribbons attached and everything bagged up. That was almost my entire day. I didn't want to rush the coffee butter scrubs so I am going to do that tomorrow (I think/hope).
I went to my friend's and had some eggnog and caught up. I hate that I am so reclusive, I have missed her. It was great hearing about her kids- her DD (she was like my second DD growing up) works in Disney at the Animal Kingdom resort and I am happy *and* jealous. My BFF is going to be in Disney for Christmas and invited her to dinner when they are down there. <3

I ran the laundry and (don't jinx it!) the warning lights didn't come on so I was able to get a load of clean clothes. Whew! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed that it hangs in there esp since we still haven't heard from any techs to come to look at it.

I am going to clean my kitchen because I am having a guest chef in there tonight. Tom is making us dinner! How nice is that? But I don't want him o have to struggle with the counters being all cluttered with fragrance oils and pipettes and such. This afternoon I am going to start wrapping. I might try to put on It's a Wonderful Life. Everyone hates that movie but I adore it. I can watch and wrap and no one will come and bug me. LOL

What plans do you have for today? Have a great day!

@faerywings I love It’s a Wonderful Life. And wish I could pack up those smells from your house and transport them to mine. Sounds so yummy.

We had a yummy lemon meringue pie for dinner and all of the remaining lemons have been juiced with the juice frozen in ice cube trays.

Not sure what is in store today. Debating on whether or not to reorganize the pa try today. And maybe take on another challenge!

@LSlycord Ummmmm- after I read about Fluent Pet I looked it up and decided that now I *must* have it. Must. Have. It. The $30 kit is on pre-order and It took just about everything for me to not do that. Whisky is seriously the smartest dog I have had and I know that she would figure it out. Talking to the fam about it, we decided that J would just push the buttons to bark at them but W would sit and think it through. You have to tell me how Andie does with it.
I am really trying to not buy it right now- but it's Christmas!!! Bwuahahah!!!
I am jealous of your pantry. And your 4 rolls of parchment LOL
AND YOUR WEATHER!!!!! (yes, I am shouting and waving my arms around!)
That seems so strange about Syd not liking coffee, I started drinking coffee when I was in middle school and am 100% addicted to it. My entire family is. Every time I read about coffee bean shortages I get very nervous.

@BrightEyes our temps dropped like a rock too- the power went out for a tiny bit overnight.
That is a huge relief to hear that your DD's family is ok. The news is truly heartbreaking.

@tanteva Did you ever end up "ready for the day" or was it just a wash?
be happy that you didn't superglue your hands to your face. (looking on the bright side...)
Enjoy the snow, maybe it will stick around long enough to get some good lighting for the pics.
I hear you about yarn! When I was shopping I went into a craft store and could *not* stop touching the yarn. I asked for some basic yarn for Christmas but I don't have any projects in mind. I wanted to buy it all. And it was on sale... *cries* Good luck using up your stash!
If you ever want some new yarn, I will ask you to make something with me, then decide at the last moment that I can't afford the shipping. Good thing that I asked you to knit something in your size, not mine. ;)

@bcgal00 How was your day with J and B? Hope she was feeling settled enough to watch a movie with you. How is my man, Taz feeling?

@scrap-genie Hi!! I miss seeing you here and hope you are doing great!

@Cherylndesigns Whether people like the candle or not is irrelevant if it is causing other people pain. Sorry you had to deal with the MA's snark on it.
yes, some of the oils can give me a headache and there are some additives that also give me a sore throat. One time a couple of years ago, I grabbed a bottle of what I thought was fragrance oil, went to sniff it. It was a vanilla stabilizer and it felt like I burned my lungs. That hurt like heck. Now I make sure that I open everything away from my face and read the labels *carefully*
Sage and Citrus is one of my fave's too- and Leah's. We have good taste

Gorgeous photos, Eva!

For Gary's sake - I hope not. LOL She was sentenced for having extramarital affairs & she built up a HUGE debt that her husband had to pay.

Good morning, ladies. Remi was out enjoying the light cover of snowfall on the ground. She is so funny, she pokes her nose into the snow and licks it, then jumps to another spot to try that out too and on and on she goes. She found a tiny stick covered in snow and she got so excited. Taz just gingerly walks thru it like, meh, nothing new, I've seen this before and its cold on the paws :) We are supposed to get a few inches at the end of the week so can't wait to get them over to the dog park to play in that and bring the camera. Jen got knocked over by Bella and another dog at the park a few days ago and twisted her ankle. She's going to have to be extra careful when out with Bella for a bit until she recovers.

Yesterday was mostly good. Picked up Bailey and took her to the dog store which she enjoyed and she picked out Xmas gifts for all 3 dogs. Jen got Bella a Santa costume but then later returned it and got Mrs. Claus but it has no hat so now she's going back for the grinch costume today. I got a quick photo of my dogs wearing the santa hat before she returned it. Remi wasn't impressed lol, Taz is used to me putting hats on him so didn't care. We all decorated the tree but mostly let B put the Xmas balls on and the dog ornaments. We didn't put much on the tree as we don't want to entice Remi as this is her first Xmas with a tree so we have to be careful. So far she has looked and poked a bit but not tried to pull anything off of it. We left the bottom 1/3 of the tree bare and tucked up all the bottom branches so there is room for Remi to get under the tree without getting tangled up in it. She has been lying by it quite a bit and puts her toys under it.

Today I'm taking the dogs to the park, doing some CT work and getting groceries. Then later this afternoon Jen and I will pick up B, then go into Vancouver for the drive through Xmas display at the PNE. We'll bring all 3 dogs and lots of snacks, will play Xmas music and hopefully have fun. We never know when B will trigger and have a meltdown so fingers are crossed. She had a crying meltdown last night when she got back to the carehome. It breaks my heart. But, we do what we can to give her moments of happiness so hopefully that will happen today.

@faerywings Enjoy the dinner tonight. It seldom happens so when someone cooks for me I really love it.

I'm getting another coffee and then soon will get dressed and get out with the dogs to the park. Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning all.

Chris @faerywings vanilla is the most toxic to me! I can smell it a mile away. Not really, but it tears me up. Yes, the snark about put me over the cliff. I just keep telling myself that good help is hard to find and I'm sure that includes the doctors' offices. It took my head a couple of days to get back to normal. If I ever have to go back in there, I'll have to pray that there are no scents. I really should complain, but I doubt it would do any good. This particular group is independent - not affiliated with the larger corporation. I'm so spoiled by coming from the big groups in FL.

Linda @LSlycord I looked the Fluent Pet - they're available to receive in one day on Amazon. Chuck's looking at them right now. He's all about anything to do with our dog. LOL I have a feeling he'll order it.

Eva @tanteva that FS layout is fabulous! How scandalous!!!

Waving to all and have a great Sunday!
