Oh wow, everyone has such sad and scary stories with the weather. Are tornadoes that common in your area Clara? I always think of them in the Midwest, I guess. But I am glad that you and Andrea are safe. I wish i could come down and just hug you all so tight and help the people who need it.
If anyone in your church is looking for clothing donations or anything like that, let me know. I have a few bags of stuff I was going to donate to the school for their clothing drive, but I can send it down to you if anyone needs it.
meg- oh no, hope that stomach ache was a one time only deal. Were you ever able to find you ehd? Hope that you have a wonderful, romantic and relaxing trip- enjoy every minute!!!
Laurie- That is a great idea to do for your basement. Good for you to be able to make the best of the housing mkt and enjoy what you have. Happy b-day to your ds!
Clara- good for Ethan! That little man makes me proud. If we lived closer we would do Beaut. Day with you. I told Scott yesterday how I respect him very much b/c he wants very much to give his time and effort to making the world a better place. Sounds like your guy is the same.
How is your head today? Is it allergies?
Katrina- so sorry to hear about your septic and not getting the horse. We have problems with our leech field and b/c of all of the abx we are are on, it just makes it that much worse. Then add the cost of a new septic into the equation and its just horrific!
Suzy- i have decided that NJ and Spring are just not going to happen, this weather is brutal!!! when we were down in Ringoes (past Flemington) last week, I was amazed at how much more green it was. Up here, everything is still brown and muddy. I have a few daffodils that have popped up, but they are still closed up tight. What did NJ ever do to Mother nature, huh?? LOL
So I shouldn't complain about the weather at all in light of what everyone esle was going through yesterday. But dang! It was freezing!! Ii had on 2 pairs of socks, 2 thermals, the t-shirts we are given and a sweatshirt. I was wearing one of my terrorist hats too, plus the work gloves and I was numb

We worked for about 2 hours, and found some good stuff. Scott found an old metal shopping cart. I dragged that sucker all the way to the picnic, and as soon as I got there, they were calling the winners.
So bummed!
If you find anything cool, you bring it to the picnic and they have winners for Most Valuable, Oldest and Most Unique. That cart would have one most unique in a heartbeat. The "winners" were two icky pairs of underwear. That is not unique. A shopping cart- now that is unique dammit! One year i won $35 to the local garden center. This year that had these wooden collectible bears worth $200- I was thinking ebay!!
Oh well, what can you do?
By the time we got to the picnic, it was just pouring rain and cold which was why they called the winners so early. On the way home, there was a dog- golden, I think, just running up and down the main road, which was on a really bad curve. So what does the kooky faery do? I pull over, grab my spare leash that i keep in the car, leave Cait and two of her friends in the car and Scott and I run up and down trying to find the dog. She was going to get hit for sure if she stayed on the road. People drive super fast plus its all curves and hills. And the poor baby was terrified- just frantic. We weren't able to catch up with her and we think (hope) she went over into the woods. Scott and I were soaked to the skin, and it was around 40*... but we had to do it. Wish we could have gotten her ok.
The funniest part tho- Apparently, while Scott and I were gone, a lady drove past my car parked but running on the side of the road, flashers on, sees the 3 kids in the back and no one in the front, slows down, peers in the car and then zooms off. What was that about? what if the kids needed help? weird people in this world!
Today is the last day of "spring" (ha!!) break, and I have to catchup on life. blergh!
Hope everyone has a great day!
xoxo
