Good morning and happy April! I promise, no April Fool's pranks on you all this year. Have you ever done a really good prank or gotten pranked?
My favorite of all time made my family *hate* me. Gary was practicing tattooing and I took pictures of him practicing on a skin that was wrapped on then a 5-yo Caitlyn's arm. I sent that out to the family thinking that they would laugh. No one got the joke aside from my brother. They were all so incredibly upset and angry. Oops :/
I also pranked Oscraps with a So Long, Goodbye post. I don't think I finished the post before had to give it up, it was completely unbelievable. My kids used to prank me too. One year they made me breakfast- cereal with milk that had black food coloring in it. That stained my teeth all day long. hahaha!
How was your Friday? Wait--
Linda, I need to check in with you first-- I saw that there were very bad tornados in Iowa, is your family ok? I saw the headlines right before I went to bed and sent up so many good thoughts.
My mom and I had a wonderful time together. We didn't do much of anything, just talked a lot and went to lunch. We drove a different way home and "just happened" (*very big wink*) to be going past the banquet hall. It's a restaurant on the bottom level so we stopped for coffee and dessert. My mom, being my mom, mentioned- oh so very casually (not!)-- to the waitress that her G-DD had just booked her wedding there. Turns out the waitress is the Event Manager and knew of the wedding. She offered to give us a tour when we were done. She first took us into the ceremony room and I got very teary. I didn't think I would but I did. It's beautiful. Grey walls, white and grey marble floors, gorgeous chandeliers. As I imagined her walking down the aisle - Oh man, getting a little teary again... Then, we went upstairs to see the reception area and it's just so pretty! The Event Mgr was friendly and let us take our time looking at it all.
I was texting Tom who was having a really rough day and when I told him how my mom and I loved the place and how happy we are for them, it cheered him up. When Caitlyn got home I could not stop hugging her. It made it even more real!!
I still have a bunch of things to work on, today. Mostly little things from the to-do list plus everything I need to do to get ready for the month. Perfect for a rainy Saturday.
What plans do you have for the weekend?
