Good morning and happy April! I promise, no April Fool's pranks on you all this year. Have you ever done a really good prank or gotten pranked?

My favorite of all time made my family *hate* me. Gary was practicing tattooing and I took pictures of him practicing on a skin that was wrapped on then a 5-yo Caitlyn's arm. I sent that out to the family thinking that they would laugh. No one got the joke aside from my brother. They were all so incredibly upset and angry. Oops :/
I also pranked Oscraps with a So Long, Goodbye post. I don't think I finished the post before had to give it up, it was completely unbelievable. :D My kids used to prank me too. One year they made me breakfast- cereal with milk that had black food coloring in it. That stained my teeth all day long. hahaha!

How was your Friday? Wait--
Linda, I need to check in with you first-- I saw that there were very bad tornados in Iowa, is your family ok? I saw the headlines right before I went to bed and sent up so many good thoughts.

My mom and I had a wonderful time together. We didn't do much of anything, just talked a lot and went to lunch. We drove a different way home and "just happened" (*very big wink*) to be going past the banquet hall. It's a restaurant on the bottom level so we stopped for coffee and dessert. My mom, being my mom, mentioned- oh so very casually (not!)-- to the waitress that her G-DD had just booked her wedding there. Turns out the waitress is the Event Manager and knew of the wedding. She offered to give us a tour when we were done. She first took us into the ceremony room and I got very teary. I didn't think I would but I did. It's beautiful. Grey walls, white and grey marble floors, gorgeous chandeliers. As I imagined her walking down the aisle - Oh man, getting a little teary again... Then, we went upstairs to see the reception area and it's just so pretty! The Event Mgr was friendly and let us take our time looking at it all.
I was texting Tom who was having a really rough day and when I told him how my mom and I loved the place and how happy we are for them, it cheered him up. When Caitlyn got home I could not stop hugging her. It made it even more real!!
:cloud9:

I still have a bunch of things to work on, today. Mostly little things from the to-do list plus everything I need to do to get ready for the month. Perfect for a rainy Saturday.
What plans do you have for the weekend?

@Su_Sanne I hope that you are able to watch the yoga video when your husband is at work. Since mine is always home I grab a time whenever I can. It took him a really long time to stop coming in to talk to me (or yell at me from the other room) while I was trying to balance and breathe at the same time. :D
That's fantastic that your DH is going to retire soon.
The Cheery Os are Oscraps' creative team. Color Play Day is the last Friday of the month when the designers release mini kits that coordinate with each other. They are on sale for 4 days and the Cheery Os post layouts to promote the sale. Does that make sense?
Some of us that post in the Daily Ooos are Cheery Os but not everyone. This thread is just for fun :groupchat:

@Nonni F Argh, sorry that your boss was driving you up the wall. I had one of those when I was teaching PreK and it got so bad that I gave notice because I couldn't take it anymore. I took the high road and gave 2 weeks and she made every last minute of them hell for me. She put me in the Infant Room the last week I was there just so I couldn't say goodbye to the kids and parents. Yes, it's been 28 years and it still pisses me off.
Anyway, I hope that you have a nice, relaxing weekend.
If you have a problem standing, esp. with your knees being in rough shape, the woman I follow on YouTube has a desk yoga routine:
She also has a bunch of routines that you can adapt for sitting.
I was in the same boat, when I got sick I was basically inactive for years and got weaker and weaker. It's nice to feel a little stronger again.

@bcgal00 As always, I saw your incredible photography on FB, And yup, as always, they took my breath away.
I hope that the Costco trip was as much $$ as it was the last time you went.

@taxed4ever haha! I love your Friday emoji!!
Sorry that you ended up losing Thursday in the Time Warp. It's kooky how easily that happens.

Did Heather find anything out about her dryer? I feel her pain about major appliance issues. Having little kids and a dog, I am sure that she needs a functioning dryer more than I needed an oven bwwuhahah! Have fun at the gender reveal party today- what are you thinking, boy or girl?
That has to be the hardest thing, not being able to remember your mom's voice. You have photos but her voice, that is how she told you she loved you. :beatingheart:

@LSlycord What is up with cars? Sam and Tom's cars broke down yesterday too! *knocks wood that everyone's cars are fine*
Was it her battery? I am glad that she broke down where she was safe at least.

Arline, get a job at the vet-- fewer people and discounts on visits and meds (maybe) :rotfl:

@BrightEyes so many good, healing thoughts coming to you xoxoxo

@Cherylndesigns hope you are doing ok, you've been quiet. I need my partner in crime back! #devil

hugs to you all!

Good morning. It's the weekend. :dance2: And it is supposed to be beautiful! 89° today and 85° tomorrow. The air conditioning will be going strong. But this morning it is beautiful!

Yesterday was a bit more eventful than planned. The AAA guy came and jumped Sydney's car but said that she would need to take it in to have the battery re-charged. She shut it off to talk to the people about when she could bring it in and then it wouldn't start. So AAA had to come back and jump the car. She then drove it to the car place and took a bus back to her dorm. She then took the bus back over to the car place and they said that she really needed to get a new battery. She ended the day with a new battery and got her groceries. We had several text conversations back and forth, including one that asked how she knew that they weren't cheating her.

In the middle of that, I was sitting at my desk working and I heard this humming/buzzing sound. I finally looked up to see if I could figure out what it was. There were 100's of bees (and that isn't an exaggeration) swarming in our pine tree next to my window. They had a big nest of some kind in the tree.

Finished the night with the entire family sitting together watching the Iowa University Women's basketball team defeat South Carolina in the semi finals of the NCAA tournament. Sydney joined us by FaceTime. She sat under her blankets so that she didn't disturb her roommate and enjoyed the game. A couple of the girls were girls that she had played with or against so that always makes it a little more interesting.

My groceries were delivered at 8:00 this morning. I even got my Easter ham. Need to figure out what else I need to order this week. And finish catching up on my Cheery-O stuff. And get April off to a better start! But, right in this moment, the temperature is perfect on my lanai, looking out on the flowers!

Good Morning!
Quick in and out.
FYI - my Facebook has been hacked, so any of you that are friends with me, please, PLEASE do not respond to anything you get from me.....I have been locked out of my account. Someone changed my info and I can't even sign in! I don't know if I will ever get there as you cannot even TALK to someone at Facebook! It is ridiculous that you cannot TALK to someone!
Anyway, that's what I've been dealing with the last several days. So frustrating! So much so that my anxiety has been making me literally SICK. If you pray, please pray for me to survive this ordeal! What a headache, literally!

Have a good weekend!

@faerywings yes my family is all fine...thanks for asking. The weather is crazy up there. My niece's husband's family sponsors an Easter egg hunt in their small town in honor of his dad. One of my nieces is the Easter bunny for the event. They had to cancel it because it is so windy and it snowed last night. Good grief! Thanks for the video link...I'm going to give that a try. Love that you and your mom got to take a look at the banquet hall...what a whirlwind this is going to be...we know it will go fast! And what is up with cars...they are so expensive...but you must have them!

@Su_Sanne good morning. How do you say good morning in German? Sydney leaves in 5 weeks for a 6 week stay in Osnabruck so I now have a clock on my phone that is set to Germany time. You and your husband will both be retired soon huh? That will be very nice I think.

@vickyday I am so sorry that your FB was hacked! Praying for the Prince of Peace to provide you with His peace.

@taxed4ever you have such a fun time with family! Enjoy the gender reveal. Sorry that Heather is having dryer problems. That is just one more stressor that she doesn't need. Has she had any luck finding a job?

@bcgal00 some of your photos from bird watching the other day were just amazing! What is your little countdown clock telling you about the time until your cruise? Is it about 2 weeks?

@Nonni F hope that your weekend is relaxing.

Hello Linda, my husband and I are already retired. Michael for 2 years and I since August last year. However, he was asked if he could work once a week to do the things on the PC that the young people didn't want to learn "LOL".
"Guten Morgen" means Good Morning. But your daughter can also say: Hey, wie geht's?' That's what young people talk about. Please ask if you have any questions :)

Happy Saturday, Everyone.
@faerywings I am so glad had a nice time with your mother and the visit to the venue and the tour sounds amazing. What a wonderful afternoon.
@vickyday ugh... that's horrible you were hacked. So frustrating. You'd think people would use their free time for good rather than mayhem! sigh.
@LSlycord fascinating about the bees. I adore bees with a purpose... hornets.. not so much. It's a fine balance for me though as my husband is highly allergic. I plant flowers, the bees come, he says I'm trying to kill him, I say no... I'm keeping them occupied with blooms so they DON'T attack you! (that's my story and I'm sticking to it)
@faerywings OMG! A job at the vet.... I did that years ago when I first got out of the Air Force. While I had a good discount... I brought EVERYTHING home that no one wanted. ...and I cried... like every day when something sad happened. I did love working there though, all kidding aside.
As for my current position I'm three months away from twenty two years. My boss is burned out and I swear any given day she's going to have a breakdown. It's not pretty. Thankfully, while I have no choice in WHO I'm working for there, other employees are very supportive. I work for an elected official. My husband often tells me I should run against her. I don't want her headaches, or her position.. I just want peace at work. Yesterday I literally had my office keys in hand and almost tossed them on her desk. It's all good... I've refocused. I'm home. Cleaning, dusting, doing laundry (just taking a quick break and checking in here) . Time to move on, focus on today and leave yesterday behind. Planning to check out that chair yoga when I'm done.

Hope this message finds all of you smiling.

Peace. Florentino Out.

I was out on a birding trip with our local naturalist group today. It was windy and chilly but we had fun hanging out and getting a few photos along the way. They are on my FB page, if you want to see.

@faerywings How wonderful that you and your mom got a tour of the hall. As for costco, it was not cheap but not as much as last trip.

@LSlycord Two more weeks. We leave early Sat morning to Vancouver for the airport. Not long now, I can't wait.

@bcgal00 a birding trip! My father would love that. He's an amazing photographer and his bird photos are amazing. He's got far more patience than I do. he will sit in a tent waiting for an owl to come out of a hole in the tree ALL DAY. What a wonderful way for you to spend the day. It rained here all day... but, I'm not complaining. I like to bathe too much to want to worry about a well going dry.

It's sunny but it's really windy out there this morning. The weather was really, really weird yesterday. It was cold and pouring rain in the morning. The afternoon was ah-mazing. Sunny and warm- hit 70*! Then by dinner time, storms rolled in and it was raining buckets and the wind was howling. Central Jersey got hit terribly hard. I think they are surveying to see if tornados touched down. So strange for NJ.

The afternoon was wonderful and my friend asked if I wanted to go for a walk. I needed that push to move, I was being very lazy.
I made an easy dinner and we watched the latest episode of Ghosts. And that was that.
No big plans today either. Another friend asked me about some lab results for her DD. She was tested for Lyme and some of the results were confusing. She asked if I could look over it and see what I thought so that's my main focus today. My friend is really struggling and I wish I could help. I don't know if I'll be able to come up with any other info for her, but I will do my best.

if I can get more housework done today, I'd like to so I can spend time outside tomorrow- it is supposed to be sunny and 65* and Tuesday is going to be 71*♥

love and hugs xoxo

@Su_Sanne You're welcome, I am glad that my explanation about the Color Play Days helped. I don't know how the designers do what they do. I am in awe of them.

@LSlycord Here I am all, excited that we might get into the 60s tomorrow and here you are in the 80s. I'll bet the AC will be cranking.
Poor Syd!! What a mess about the car but she handled it perfectly. Sad that she wanted to make sure she wasn't being cheated. I am happy that she got to end the day watching the game with you and that is awesome that she knew some of the players!
OK, I *love* bees, talk to them all of the time when they are hanging out on my flowers. But 100s of them?? Awwww, hell no! Hahaha :p

@vickyday :sparkles1::beatingheart::sparkles1: That's me sending good thoughts and calming vibes to you. I hope that you are able to get your FB account back. I don't get why some people have to be so darn awful. Please don't let the anxiety make you sick, take deep breaths innnnn and ouuuuut my friend! ♥

Linda, I am so relieved that your family is ok. I forget how big other states are compared to NJ but we are all packed in like sardines and my perspective of size and distance tends to be "off."

@Nonni F *gasping for breath as I laugh my butt off* So you are "trying to kill" your hubs with flowers and bees? :lol23: I got your back, sister, if you ever need an alibi LOL
I totally get it, I could never be a vet/work at a vet. I wanted to be a vet when I was a kid and quickly realized there was *no* way. Also wanted to be a child psychologist and didn't go that route for the same reasons. I can't compartmentalize my emotions. A few years ago, my Lyme was starting to get better but not enough where I could work on a regular basis. I thought maybe I could volunteer at the animal shelter. My family (smartly) talked me out of it.
My niece is at veterinarian school and I don't know how she does it.
LMK if you want me to post any other chair yoga videos if I come across any others
Whoa! That owl is gorgeous. Your dad is the patience of a saint and the steady hands of a surgeon.

@bcgal00 I will check out your pics on FB next, I am sure that they are incredible. Any more sightings of the sheep? 13 days!! Woo hoo!!

Good morning. Another nice day here. Didn't do a lot yesterday. Shaun had a friend over and they went out for a run, then spent time in the pool and then came in to watch movies. I made them a taco pie for lunch. The rest of the day, I spent upstairs watching TV. I've started a new series on Netflix...Night Agent. I'm enjoying it.

I've got potatoes cooked this morning...going to do Grandma's potato salad for lunch. I haven't made that for awhile. I love Grandma's potato salad...it was one of my favorite foods growing up. I am really starting to love the grocery delivery. They are out of stock on orange jello and on orange sherbet so I'm going to wait a few days...then, if need be, I'll head over to Publix. I need those for my Easter dinner.

@faerywings I'm glad that you have some good weather on the way! It is about time! And isn't it a shame that our kids are growing up in a world where they wonder if someone is trying to cheat them!!!

@bcgal00 two weeks...oh my, what an exciting adventure you have ahead of you. With that route, where are your ports?

@Nonni F I remember that you posted a photo of an owl that your father took before. I think it was a white owl. It was stunning!

@vickyday I hope that the anxiety is leaving over the stupid FB. I continue to wonder why the smart people won't do productive things rather than hacking!

And I'm off. I need to do some scrapping. Have a good day all!

Good morning, everyone!

Much like New Jersey we've had crazy weather this weekend. It was snowing by the time I went to bed Friday night, then 60 by dinnertime yesterday. The wind and thunder and lighting was crazy but thankfully... no twisters here. I hope everyone is safe in Jersey.

@faerywings Lyme is brutal. Do you have Lyme specific specialists in your area? I know there are a couple in Maine. A friend of mine sees one.

Groceries were done by 7:30 this morning. Work clothes are ironed for the week. If the winds lighten up I'm hoping to talk a walk. I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Peace

P.S. Another beauty from my dad.

Good morning ladies. Home today except for going to the dog park this afternoon. I have house chores and want to make sure we have all our papers together for our trip. Next wkend we are busy so don't want to leave it until the last minute. I am hoping to get tax info ready later and get that into the agent this week. I had fun yesterday on our birding trip. I hadn't read thru all the info and it was a trip to Merritt, not a local trip at the university grounds. 3 of us went with a driver and we chatted all the way there and back. We stopped for photos along the way. The one couple lives a few blocks away so they may pop in for morning coffee when out walking, they go right by our place. The two guys who organized the outing are going to plan many more birding trips throughout the spring. I'll miss a few when were are away but there should be more when I return.

@faerywings Hope you are able to help your friend to decipher her daughter's lab results. They sure can be confusing. We are starting to warm up too. Still snow in the higher elevations and there were snow flurries yesterday but in a few more days it shouldn't be below freezing at night anymore. Everyone says our winter extended longer than usual here.

@LSlycord I'll have to check Night Agent, haven't heard of that. Our starting port is Ft Laud - then on to Bonaire, Caribbean - Aruba - Cartagena Colombia - Panama City - Puntarenas Costa Rica - Huatulco Mexico - Puerto Vallarta Mexico and then docking in LA. 7 ports b/c one was cancelled due to political unsafety (Nicaragua).

I started this message and then some new (birding) friends I met yesterday stopped by to grab me and Remi for a walk through the grasslands. They go most mornings so I think I'll start joining them. It's a nice way for Remi and I to start the day. They bring their dog along too. Too many cacti in there for Taz, his fur would be a mess but Remi has sleek fur so it isn't too bad to pick off.

I need more coffee. Gotta go. HAGD everyone.

Guten Abend, Ladies!

What great photos does your dad take? You can scrap it perfectly. I'm totally frustrated now because I've been trying to make a flower border for the challenge for 2 days. I've never done it before and totally underestimated it. Now I have three designs and am fumbling with the shadows. Do you actually have dead layouts lying around on your hard drive that you started and then forgot? Sometimes you get caught up in an idea and it looks stupid! Maybe we should open a new space for the poor layout accidents? I've had enough of it today and plant myself on the sofa - with a thick blanket and Paulchen It's still so cold!! :brrr:

Have a nice day and later a nice evening. Do you have any photos of Rae with a new hairdo?

I thought I'd pop in - April Fool's Day yesterday. My mom's birthday was on April Fool's Day and we always had so much fun with her birthday. My grandpa used to wrap a bunch of presents and put each one in a bigger box and so on and so on. Poor Mom. She had to go through this every year. My dad's birthday is April 11th, so we remembered that by "Double Fool's Day". I know, we're weird.

I've also been busy planting my seeds and watching them come up. I'm SO close to moving them outside.

Things on the compound are hanging in - our son-in-law (Roger) had rotator cuff surgery Friday and he's been in a lot of pain. I went up to their house all afternoon yesterday and just sat with them. We're just hanging together and getting it done. It's been the usual menagerie around here - dogs in and out. LOL

Thanks, Susanne. He's a big, burly, extremely active guy - this is really hard on him. He needs help and he doesn't want to put any of us out. He's getting used to all of us women hovering. We call ourselves The Posse. We've hovered over him all weekend. We all just sat with him all day Saturday. I think he secretly likes it.
