HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Tracking the hurricane here...I don't think we are going to get any of it...some of the outer edge rain would be nice..but so far I think it won't come this far inland...usually they do and we get a lot of rain and flooding.

It's really nice out today...I have to clean and grocery shop though..so no playing for me.....I am keeping Cameran and Miss S tonight....Cameran is a fixture here..so that is nothing new..but Savannah rarely spends the night. So MOMMY AND DADDY are looking forward to a night out!!

Tomorrow Mike and I are going to get out and just "mess around". We haven't done that in ages. Usually we start with breakfast, and run errands, and then a ride to the country.

A trip to the Red Box will be in store too...I am on a huge movie kick lately..and my netflix that will be here today is for Cameran....now I like a good Goosebumps movie too, but need some ACTION too

Have a great day everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Late morning everyone- Thanks to Irene- my sons left DC and are now creating a wonderful white cloud in the basement doing the drywall ceiling- Yeah. I will have to take pics later and post, after the clean up! I am off to bake cookies, and we have people coming to the house to close on a refinance that will prevent me from being 80+ when the house is paid off!

Guess Irene is paying a little for you Laurie!! Can't wait to see it all finished in the basement!!! YAY for the refi!! We just did too...we did not take years off but we did reduce our interest rate quite a bit and saving around $200/mo....another step to getting Mike retired!!!!

Oh....btw....for young people...this is a good lesson....we refinanced our house two times before to borrow money out of it to remodel and such...wondering if it was really worth it at this point, because if we had never borrowed more and stretched years out....our house would be paid for 5 years from now!!!....Now...our house would be falling down I suppose...so it's a two sided coin!!! But...if we had waited..we could have afforded to do it after her retired because we would have no house payment....but that is not the case and we have about 16 years to go!!!

That's really good to know! We're hoping to look into buying a house in a bit so that's good advice! Thanks!

For me, I'm just doing some design stuff today... Going to try and take it a little easy if I can.

well, I made it in- hopefully not for the last time for a while :)
oh- eep- starting to rain.

So anyway- we were supposed to be having a small block party BBQ here today. its still on- just a Hurricane party. I am using my collection of flashlights and candles as centerpieces and some old blue hanging decorations that look like rain. I also made a sign that says "Who invited Irene?"

I am not so much worried about the storm itself as much as all of the trees surrounding my house and street. Good chance we might lose power, My basement is going to flood.... but that;s expected anytime it rains now.

I told the kids to have their laptops 100% charged so if we do lose power we can all check.

Hope that everyone else on the east coast stays sfae and as dry as possible.

There is a really great site called mind your mortgage that helps you to determine if a refinance is in your best interest, or if you are getting a deal when comparing mortgages. We were and we did. One room ceiling down and two to go. Cookies in the oven, dust all over the house.

Chris- hope your party was a hit, and a dry one at that. HOpe you still have power as well. It has been sunny and nice here- except once again mowing the lawn I fed the mosquitos - you would think by now I would remember to spray before I mow!! I am heading to work this am to start a sort and clean project, then come home and clean up the drywall dust. I hope next weekend we can get someone started on the mudding. I want it painted by the end of September!

8.30 am check in. :)
So far, so good! Just rain and wind and water in the basement. I did hear that some parts of my town are w/o power, but for now we are OK.

That party was hysterical. Who knew that watching weather reporters would be so funny? You have to feel bad for them- they are all saying the same things.... look at the waves.... its starting to rain... be careful of flooding.... danger, danger! For hours on end. We kept switching channels to see what new nonsense they were sharing.

Hope everyone north of me is ok too!

Nana, I hope you have a terrific day today with YMG. You deserve a nice, relaxing time.
We just watched "The Kids are Alright" the other night- it was good. Semi-chick flicky, but Gary enjoyed it too.

Laurie- great work for your sons to come and help with your basement. Woot!

Good for both of you ladies for refi-ing. I keep looking at the rates too and wonder if it would save any money to do it. I'll have to check that website. TFS!

Hi Trudy!

xoxo to everyone!

HI LADIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is GORGEOUS here this morning....We did not get ANY rain at all....we did however get somewinds from Irene....I am sure there will be reports of minor things, like small trees and roof shingles....but that was about it....We did see that there was some pretty hard rains about and hour from here.....a few splatters would have been nice...we are so dry!!!!

Have had my coffee...kids are up and and fed them breakfast....their Mom will be here in a couple of hours and then the rest of the day is set for LEISURE time!!!

We went to the grocery store with them last night (PawPaw pushed them around in one cart and I got the groceries...needless to say...they each came out with a little something....PAWPAW!!!!!) and stopped at DQ for milkshakes!!!! YUM!!!!!

Terra.....good luck with the designing!!! and buying the house!!

TRUDY!!! Hi ya sis!!!

Laurie....Good luck with the project!! You can come here and do that same kind of project in my house if you like  Mike mowed our lawn yesterday afternoon.....I took the trash out after he was done and the can was FULL OF BROWN DEAD GRASS....rain would have been nice ~sigh~

Chris.....The party sounds fun!!! Glad you were able to make some fun out of the situation!!! Wonder if your sign pissed her off :pound:

Okay....off to clean up breakfast dishes!! Hope everyone is safe and sound after Irene has made her way up the coast!!!!

Morning everyone I am on my second cup of coffee and enjoying the peace and quiet of the early morning!! It's almost 7am and hubby is still sleeping. A gorgeous day here again today, but like you Linda we could sure use some rain!! It's very dry!! Hubby hopes to get finished painting the trim on the outside of the house (It's only taken him a year) LOL. I should do some weeding in the front of the house and other than that it will be a lazy day. Back to work tomorrow and then Tuesday off.

Linda - I haven't had DQ for a long time, love the milkshakes yummmmm!! Lucky kids!

Chris - The party sounds like it was a good time! It can be quite hilarious watching those poor weather guys being blown around in the storms they have to cover :pound: glad its them and not me!

Laurie - Don't you just hate those blood suckers!! Did you scratch all night? We are having a horrible time with wasps right now, seems the dry weather has really brought them out!

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone

always chatty at the O!!
Good morning...er...well, I guess it is afternoon now. I am nursing a headache today. Need more coffee. The hurricane party was a success...even more so because the hurricane had very little affect on our area. Since I don't have TV I don't really know what affect it had anywhere else though. I know there was a lot of exacuations for the military up north in the DC area. I'll have to look into it later.

So, I finally have internet and am pretty moved. The party helped us get motivated to do some major unpacking. Yay!! WEll, today is Ethan's birthday and we still have some people here so I need to get. I'll try and come back later today to love on you guys. I have missed everyone sooooooo much since the beginning of July. I'm excited to be truly back now.
