The coffee is on!! Help yourselves...grab a chair and tell us about your day!

Today I am surprising my son's class with Turkey Cupcakes (I posted a photo here) and a DVD I created of our Halloween Party and recent field trip :) I can't wait!! Should be so much fun! Hope the kiddos love the Cupcakes!

While I am waiting to go into school I am finally going to break down and shampoo the rugs! I put it off til the last minute...so I best get on it!

kat you are crazy! early morning is going to come way to soon. i wouldn't be able to function. not that i am functioning real well right now. derek had the brilliant idea to leave at 4am to head home. we're hoping to beat thanksgiving traffic by getting home around 12 or 1 if it works according to plan. so i am wishing i were asleep but my sinuses are acting unfabulously and i can't get comfortable. so instead i am awake. so i am writing to all of you guys instead.

so all the funeral stuff is over. my mil seems to be doing well. me and the kids went to the service which i thought was the most impersonal service ever but derek thought it was good so i kept my mouth shut. then addie and i went back to the hotel and ethan went with everyone to the cemetery. the kids were pretty good through everything. the showing is strange for us. it was a whole day process and everyone just hung out at the funeral home with the open casket. both of the kids wanted to see him. i hadn't planned on going with the kids. derek explained it to ethan as this crazy creepy experience. he used the words heeby-jeebies when explaining it to him so that Ethan could decide if he wanted to go. boys are such dorks when explaining things. addie was convinced that her grandpa was made of plastic...which he did look a little plasticky i must admit.

oooh, we are at starbucks! what do you all want? it is on me? i'll be back in a bit to ramble in my sleepy state.

Happy Wednesday and good morning my lovely O-Fam.
bring on buckets of that coffee! I have been awake since 2 am. a bit drifting in and out, but more awake than not. I haven't been sleeping all that good recently.

My brother and SIl are back home and I guess they are just going to try to put the pieces back together. Its going to be very difficult for them, but at the very least they have the support of their families. We love them so much and all hurt for them so much.
(I can't remember if I ever said anything, or anything that made any sense, but they were adopting a baby and the birth mom changed her mind at the very last minute. They had the baby with them, and the agency had to take her back on Monday.)

Yesterday was just numbing- I tried to keep busy, decided to focus on cleaning my kitchen. But I basically walked in circles. My brother called me several times, my mom called, I got a few emails from other family members...everyone is horribly sad.

Today I am off to work at MIL's. In case I haven't said it a million times yet- I am so happy to work for her. I am moving really slowly, but she won't mind. I could call in sick but I need to get out of the house. And i need the money! I had to put groceries onthe credit card yesterday and that stinks.

Scott appt went good. he is going to go onto what is hopefully the last stage of abx. Its what Gary and I are on. Nasty medicine but for me- I think it is helping. My pain has gone down from steady 6-7's to mostly a 4. Now it is just the extreme fatigue as my worst symptom.
So anyway- he started this med on Monday. We go back in 2 months. He has been having heart palp's so the Lyme dr wants me to get him in to see his cardiologist. He has a fabulous cardio dr that he has been with since he was 3 weeks old and now he isn't in his insurance plan. I hate to find a new dr at this point... but i can't affor to pay out of pocket.

Clara- looks like we are rambling together today.:D

I am going to post this, get more coffee and try for some non-rambly aka semi-intelligent personals.

yummmmy! dark cherry mocha is the best. i hate it when i ask for it and they look at me like i have a 3rd eye simply because they already ran out. most starbucks still have it. so my dad used to work at corporate and he would go to stores wherever he was at. when he was away from seattle they'd ask him what store he was from and he said corporate even the worst starbucks would provide the best service. it was awesome. but now he doesn't work there. oh well.

okay, i have no ramble left in me. derek just told me we are going way down yonder on the chattahoochie. lol. he's such a dork every once in awhile even though he'll never admit it. me, i'm always a dork. okay, im gonna drink my coffee then try and sleep. not sure how that will work but we'll try it. later.

oh chris! big hugs and prayers for your brother, sil, you and the rest of the family. my heart just breaks for all of you. i wish i had words to make this easier but only time will make this easier. i can only hope and pray that the reasons for all of this will show itself quickly in their lives. i'm glad scott is moving on to the next phase in his treatment and hopefully he will handle it well. give your mil a hug from me today for providing you the opportunity to decrease some of your stress with the work she provides you. you and gary are so blessed with amazing mothers who are able to support you in ways that help you. i'm sending you some big squeezy hugs and a bottle of wine...possibly the same size from that lo i saw of yours. i hope your faery wings stuff is moving along how you want it to. i'll probably put in an order around the 1st. hugs lady.

hehe Clara, gotta love our dorks.
I remember when Scott was little I swore that I wasn't going to let him grow up to be a guy-dork. It didn't work. I think it is inevitable that they just turn out that way no matter what you do.
Makes you shake your head, ya know? LOL

Glad that you are on your way home. Safe trip! Here in NJ/NYC area, the people are already driving completely insane, The accident and traffic reports on the radio take more time than the news/weather/music/commercials. Ok, that *might* be an exaggeration. But only slightly!
Enjoy your coffee and nap.

Kat- your post of smilies made me smile. :becky: I saw your cupcakes yesterday- they rock!!! Have fun cleaning -ugh...;)

laurie- I went back and read the Fire story- that was too funny!!

Linda S- I am drooling at the thought of choc pecan pie. Yum yum!!!!

Katrina- I keep 2 copies of my lo's. One psd and one 600x600 jpg. When I get a bunch of psds (like a years worth) I'll burn them onto a CD. I don't think I have ever gone back and changed one, but I guess I feel better about having th eability to do that if I ever wanted to.

ME- love your new avi! So happy! Mmmmmmm, bagels!!!

Kat- thanks for all of your hugs.
heh, you do the opposite of me with LO's.... but your way makes more sense.
How many LO's did you do??

Trudy- how are you doing today? I made baked potato soup last night and thought of you. If I could send some through the computer I would!

Meg- woot on the shop offer!!!!
And for FIL!!!
oh oh! You had an awesome day all around!!!! Happy Dancing with you!!

Petra- thanks sweetie!!! it means so much to have hugs from my O-Fam.
Oh gosh- I hate driving in snow too, but can't imagine with a truck. People around here think that b/c they have a SUV they are invincible. Sorry- not true, no matter what the commercials may say.

Have you noticed more accidents than usual? I mainly drive around town, once a week to MIL's about 45 min's away and then the dr's visits with is about once a month, 2-3 hiurs away. It seems to me, even with my limited driving, that there so so many more accidents. We even had three fatal accidents this past month is my area. Seems crazy.

Anyway-- congrats on your new CT!!

Happy Wed!!

Good morning ladies! Quick one from me. I'm hoping that while I cook I can get some time in for scrapping and chatting! We'll see how that goes!

Chris--even in this quick one---I want you to know that I'm praying for your family. I can only imagine the pain of the loss! So, so sad!

Morning all- Today I have off- thursday is my normal day off and since it is a holiday- I get an extra day - for the second time this week- my glasses popped apart- grr- then I lost the screw in the brown rug when i was getting ready to fix it at my magnifying lamp- and no the screws are not magnetic like other screws- so I found my kit and put in a not for real screw and will see if they are open on Friday to fix for real- I do not want to go into town today, too much baking!

Chris- prayers and hugs for your family- I remember all the drama about the baby shower and your concerns at what might happen- that is so sad

Meg- congrats to all your good news

Petra- congrats to your good news as well. I hear you on people not knowing how to drive in snow- IF you are still in alachua- say hi to my sis- that is where she lives- missing her already

Katrina- just know you did your best on the test and enjoy your non study time

Linda- hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving- thankful your mom is still with you- a great time to record wonderful memories

Kat- how was scrapping

Energizer nana- are you still going?

ME- how were the bagels?

Trudy- hugs and praying all gets better soon!

Okay- I need to get started on my day before my glasses pop apart again- hmm maybe super glue!!

Hi ladies, happy Wednesday. So glad this is a long weekend to relax and spend time with family and get out of town for a few days. We are heading to my parents' house tomorrow morning early.

I won a blog contest - from a designer who is moving to a new neighborhood ... :) What a surprise. I almost never win anything. Woot!

Kat - you are a night owl! I am feeling good, thanks for asking. 24 weeks today! How stinkin' cute are those turkey cupcakes!

Chris - big hugs. My heart is breaking for your brother and SIL. They must be devastated. A friend of mine went through a similar experience this summer, and it was just so incredibly painful and difficult for her. Praying for them.

Clara - a dark cherry mocha? that sounds good! I am glad you are headed home. Were you really on the road already at 5:30 this am?

Hiya Linda!

Laurie - enjoy the extra day off! What a treat. Good luck fixing your glasses. I have lost screws before too. The bagels were good, so much so the little guy asked for them this morning. That boy is spoiled!! I didn't give in although it did sound like a good idea to me too. haha.

okay, just woke up. the coffee soothed me before giving me a jump start so i got some sleep but my sleep was broken with yelling of little boy diarhea issues, stupid drivers, and little girls crying because their lollipop got thrown away. but now i am going to attempt to do some personals.

chris - just cuz it has been so stinking long i think you get one more big eye poppy hug. better wear some goggles today. love ya girl.

okay, harder than i thought...they will be in seperate posts. phone internet is rough, especially without a smart phone.

kat - how did those cupcakes come out? did the kids love them? i saw some in the grocery store the other day. how cool that you can make things. some schools you can some you can't. i always missed the fun homemade treats.

laurie - boo about the glasses. i hate it when that happens. it always happens to my sunglasses but i have been lucky with my glasses. yay on getting an extra day off. i hope you enjoy the long weekend.

i think all i have left is ME!

ME - yes we were on the road at 430. insane ~ know. it was not my idea. i would never suggest such a thing. lol. how funny about c and the bagels. sounds like my kids. they love good food.

okay i'm getting kicked out of the passenger seat and have to drive the last two hours. bye.

Happy Humpday everyone...Oh my I have to get another cup of coffee after sitting here reading all these post this morning LOL . It is :smow: for us again today, ugh, we will be buried in the stuff pretty soon. I live on the top of a hill that is very steep so I am not planning to move anywhere today. Hopefully I will get some scrapping done today in between cleaning and talking to my DH on Skype. She is signing up for an accounting/bookeeping course through Mowhawk college in Ontario, so I will be helping her with that, looking forward to seeing her sweet face again. Thank goodness for Skype!! Our son is on a course in a nearby town to her so he is planning on a visit with his sister this Friday. I sure hope he makes it!! She could use some family right now as she is kind of down in the dumps lately. She is sick of being stuck in the house and really needs to be doing something productive. In case you don't know, my daughter had viral encephilitis when she was 18 and it has left her unable to walk without assistance. She can use her walker in the house, but not outside because as soon as she hit uneven ground it throws her balance all out of wack and she falls. They are trying to find some kind of work for her through disabilty, but I don't think they are trying too hard. Anyway this course would keep her busy and hopefully find her some kind of work.

Chris - My heart just breaks for your brother and SIL!! I remember you were so worried that this would happen  for all of your family!! Thanks for thinking of me while you were making soup. It sounds yummy, I will have to get the recipe when you have time. Keep sending that virtual love this way, it all helps!! Still waiting to hear when I will get this darn splint on my jaw. Hope its soon!!

Clara - you are going to be so glad to get home!! On the road so early makes for a long day!! Hope all goes well and drive safely on that last leg of your trip! Your starbucks coffee sounds devine!!

Kat - Loved your smiley's on your post this morning (early morning) what were you doing up at that hour?? Your cupcakes turned out so good!! The kids are going to love them! You are a great mom!!

Petra - Loved your lo's in the gallery last nite! You have been very busy! Hope you don't run into anymore snow, you must just shake your head at all the lunatics on the highway, the world is full of really bad drivers!!! Keep safe my friend!

Meg - so happy for you that you got an offer from another shop, you rock!! Congrats to your FIL for the new job offer, he must be very pleased!!

Laurie - hope you get your glasses fixed soon!! Sounds like your house will be filled with wonderful smells today... I love baking, just wish I could eat it LOL.

Linda S - hope you can get that scrapping time in between your cooking...what ya cookin girl???

Me - Enjoy your time with your family this holiday weekend! Not a long weekend for us here in :canada: enjoy all the good mom cooking!!

Nana Linda, Sally, Krista ....where are you?? Hope all is well! I miss you!

Off to the shower and get some breakfast

Hi everyone...boy oh boy am I late getting back!! It's Noon here *lol* Nope wasn't sleeping but boy I wish I was!! I was shampooing rugs!! FUN FUN FUN!!! They do look good however :) Now only if I can keep the dogs off them for 1 day....and please no rain!!! Rain = Mud + Dogs = DISASTER AREA!!!

Clara
I am taking them to school at 1:45pm...I am so nervous!! I hope the kiddos like them!!! I can bake only because my child is the one with the severest allergy in the school. So I can bake safely without risk for cross contamination issues. I just don't want the kids to be without kwim? So I try and make things for them when I am allowed.

Trudy - I was a scrapping fool!!! *lol* I haven't been able to scrap for a long time and I think I was in withdrawl!! Then I got lost in the gallery ohhhing and ahhhing over everyone's gorgeous layouts!! So much talent in there!! Before I knew it....it was LATE!! Yikes!

Can't wait til after school gets out today I am brewing a big pot of the Mocha Peppermint Duncin Donuts Coffee!!! Has anyone tried this yet? It's good...a subtle flavor not over powering. If you want more chocolate add a squirt of Hershey's Syrup! YUM!! I got it at Target - so far the only place that has it. They also had Pumpkin Spice if you like that flavor...and a nut one (sorry can't remember what kind since we can't have nuts in our house).

Okay I have to get a shower now so I can be presentable for the kiddos!! Have a fab day ladies!! Will be back later tonight to scrap....! Oh yes....I need to scrap more!! *LOL*

Morning, girlies!! (it's still 11:30am here!!)

I'm sooo happy today. I can do whatever I want (as long as sometime I fold the million loads of laundry we've been picking through for the last two weeks!!). So I'm going to fill a couple of orders and then upload a bunch of stuff to my Etsy store. And I'm going to play, play, play with little projects here and there.

Today our CD goes to the printer. It's already in the queue at iTunes (meaning it'll be up and ready for download SOON!!!!). I had to do all of the artwork for our printed copies. I wish you guys could have seen Mr Gorgeous at 2am last night saying, "Ohh, you gotta put your fun woolly sheep on there somewhere!!!" He consistently cracks me up! LOL!! But the woolly sheep with the digital googly eyes made it on there!

thank God for eggnog lattes made from home, huh?

well, I'm going to make good use of this awesome caffeine that is coursing through my veins!!

Chris, I've been praying non-stop for your fam. My heart hurts like crazy every time I think of it. But there is hope and comfort for you and your fam!! love you, babe!

Sally - can't wait for your CD- and the sheep oh yeah!

Pie is made, down here in the dungeon getting the roll dough out of the fridge for trial run, squash all done, celery and onion cut up for tomorrows stuffing- I am so enjoying cooking at my pace today- even if I only have 4 people- i will have a great meal!!

RUNNING IN AND OUT!!!

Just wanted to say

I have managed to get some things done..the grocery shopping finally!!!

I had Jaiden again last night...but I had to get her back to her Mommy today...Traci is still sick, but I just can't get things done.

I have loads of cooking to do too...I usually have gotten a lot done by now!!!

LOVE TO YOU ALL!!!!

I will be back when I am settled tonight and do some personals!!!

Morning, girlies!! (it's still 11:30am here!!)

I'm sooo happy today. I can do whatever I want (as long as sometime I fold the million loads of laundry we've been picking through for the last two weeks!!).

I am so thankful that you admitted to this and I am not the only one that does this. Yay!!!! Oh and I can't wait to get my hands on that music of yours. :)

Trudy - I just love Skype. It is a total saving grace for us since we moved. It is also great because my kids can just be silly and be themselves and not have to worry so much about talking on the phone when they are not talkative. It is so perfect for us. I hope you can dig your way out of that snow. I know seattle shut down at the first sign of 2 inches. LOL

Kat - That is awesome that you can take stuff in. When I was a kid it was Hepatitis issues that stopped homemade goodies. It was so sad cuz my mom made fun stuff. The kids will love them. If it is sweet and has sugar in it they will love it and the fact that you made them cute will only improve their awesomeness. you are trying to impress 2-3 graders? It doesn't take much. I think it is too cute that you are so concerned. You're a rockin mama!!

Nana - Hi! I hope you get everything done. Glad you got to spend some fun time with Jaida-bug!! Too bad they aren't more helpful at that age.

Well, I am taking it easy. I don't have to cook until Saturday. I finally came up with a meal plan. I got motivated by Bobby Flay Pumpkin Bread Pudding. yummy!! My sis thinks we should have pumpkin cheesecake but that doesn't sound good at all. I think she should make that for other people. Ewwwww!

Alrighty, I am home and off to scrap for a bit. yay!!

Aww thanks Clara! The class is 21 1st graders! They LOVED the cupcakes...they went nuts when they saw them and then the DVD I made of their Halloween/Trips was a huge hit as well. They were dancing to the music - it was the cutest thing in the world! Soooo happy that I was able to put smiles on all their faces before they went home today :) Made my day!

Well I am off....have to get ready for Turkey Day Tomorrow!! Have a good one ladies!!

Clara - let me know how the bread pudding is....sounds yummy! Pumpkin Cheesecake is an acquired taste! Not everyone likes it. I made one that was fab one year.... had a nut crust. Super yummy!

OH WOW! You ladies have been posting up a storm today!!!!

My FIL wasn't supposed to start working until Monday -- but he got called in today! It's a courier business that stores and delivers all kinds of stuff. Today he had to pick up something from a trucking company and deliver it to Walmart in a town a few hours away! He joked that he's getting paid to listen to the radio!

I'm going to try and find my old fm transmiter for my old ipod & load it up with his music for him to have for the trips out of town. Most of the time he'd actually be doing delivers between a chain of pharmacies, but that doesn't start until Monday. Now he's just on call, so he can get called in anytime between now and then!

Meanwhile -- I finished the grocery shopping & splurged a little -- I got stuff to make a dry mix for chai lattes. It's too hard to make the tea concentrate, and takes too long... plus if it tastes and appears the same or better, why not? It passed my hubby's approval! He's already had three mugs. My milk frothier still hasn't gotten here, but when it does I'm going to be super excited!
Tonight I'm making the pecan pie & chopping up all the veggies for the stuffing. My MIL & FIL are going to prep the turkey so it just has to go in the oven. We're doing the stuffing in the slow cooker to save oven space, and we'll brown it if needed in the oven.

Send lots of patience my way -- I'm super pissed off at my BIL, I can't dwell on it right now or I get super pissy with everyone.

Clara, I want to know too...how is that pumpkin bread pudding!

And I absolutely LOVE the cupcakes Kat! I agree with Clara...neat that you can still do that!

I've got pumpkin pies and chocolate pecan pies done. Getting ready to start my Auntie Evelyn's strawberry jello salad...been having that for about 45 years now...Auntie Evelyn is gone but the strawberry jello salad lives on...

Look who slipped in while I was posting! Glad to see you Meg! Sounds like things are looking up for your FIL. Hang in there with the BIL!

Getting ready to start my Auntie Evelyn's strawberry jello salad...been having that for about 45 years now...Auntie Evelyn is gone but the strawberry jello salad lives on...

One of my co-workers went on about her mothers cranberry jello - except there was none to be found in any of the local stores- can't wait till friday to find out if she found some or not- I managed to bake the rolls, tomorrow- the turkey, stuffing and potatoes for the most part- not eating till 2- so Iwill have plenty of play time in the morning while i watch/listen to the parade- parts of it have become too political for me. Off to clean up more kitchen mess and mop the flour off the floor!! you guys!
