Good morning ladies...it is barely still morning and probably will be afternoon by the time I post. BUT it is morning right now.
It is Thursday already? Wow!! I feel like I got nothing done. We are still trying to work out all the kinks with homeschooling. It is hard but we are working our way through. I had a mini meltdown (okay, maybe not so mini) but after talking to my mom I was a lot better and got some new ideas to make things easier for us. Then I taled to Sally for a bit and she helped me figure some other stuff out. So now I have a new reading program, because I hated the last one and some time limits put in place. I think we'll be good. I am also starting to work with Addie on reading stuff. She wants to work on it and not all at the same time. We'll see how that goes. She is really smart but stubburn. I am also wondering if she doesn't need some glasses. Eye exams are free so we might as well check it out. I think I may just go to Walmart for it. We'll see. I think my eyes have changed recently also and so I need some new glasses. I should set that up right now. Okay got that done.
Uh oh...looks like Ethan has some homework to do today. That is oneof our new things. He drags his feet so badly and my mom suggested we start setting timers for how long he should take on things and that has helped a lot and has made our day sugnificantly shorter. He's not allowed to do his homework until the bus gets here for the school kids so that he is doing his homework when the other kids are or if they don't have their own homework they would be playing outside. That way he's missing something if he is dragging his feet on his work. We break our day up quite a bit but he is having major distraction issues. Derek think we need to get him tested for ADD because he sees a lot of his own issues in Ethan. So we'll check it out and see if there is an issue and if there is, decide how to handle it whether with meds or diet. We'll just see what they say. I am not all about putting my kid on meds just because but if he needs it, you bet I will. I have seen the difference first hand with my husband. It is unreal.
Anyway...I am so back. I've been scrapping, doing contests, posting in the gallery and it is awesome. I missed it soooooo much. Hopefully you'll get some fun posts from me too. I also have to evaluate my CTs and decide where I want to be and if I want to do some begging to get back on some teams. I am just not sure yet.
So, I also need some suggestions...Addie gets into EVERYTHING!!! For every thing I get put away she makes 3 more messes. It is making me CRAZY. Today I am going to try and really get some stuff done.
Oh...so tomorrow I get to buy some Dave Matthews tickets. I am trying to figure out what tickets to buy though. DMB is playing 2 nights where we want to go so I'd like to go both nights. Then I have to figure out about the kids. It is in an arena so we would have to buy them tix. Gets pretty expensive. But I can't not take them. They love DMB as much as I do. So we were thinking of taking them one night but we'll be 5 hours from home. Not sure how we will be handling that yet. I have until tomorrow to decide. I was really excited because I didn't know how we were going to pay for them and then we got a reimbursement from the Army that was more than we needed. Yay!!
I found out that my cousin had a stroke last night. I guess it was a mini stroke, but a stroke nonetheless. She's not very old but a heavy smoker. Her daughter is a nurse and so she noticed and took her to the hospital. That is so scary.
Anyway, I haven't loved on anybody in forever so I need to do that so you don't all think I don't like you...
Laurie - Have a good day at work. Yay for time and a half. That makes working with a smile much easier.
Krista - I hope we see you popping in throughout the day.
Linda - I hope everything works itself out for you and that stinks that it is so stressful for you. Sending lots of hugs your way.
Petra - I hope you enjoy being on the road. I'm glad you will be working. That is crazy that you can control yourself with your computer. I definitely can't. Oh, and about those judges...I am not so keen on Steven Tyler after all of his drug-induced spazziness over the past couple of years. It may be entertaining but not the best example to set for kids. It is definitely an interesting bunch. It will be an interesting dynamic.
Sally - I love seeing you in here. Sounds awesome about getting that quilt done...that means you'll be closer to my list of stuff. Yay me. I'm with Linda...I hope you are able to get your abx started in the semi near future. That way you can just be done with it. But I understand about not wanting to be down for 2 weeks, expecially this time of year when fall is in the air and you are moving towards the holidays. Good luck getting it figured out. Hugs!!
Trudy - Did you make a decison about your job? I hope it was an easy decision for you and didn't stress you out. I feel ya on that rain. From what I hear you guys got almost no summer. It started right after I left in th emiddle of July...but then last year we had an amazing summer that started in May. We are still in the 90s here which is kinda nice and different...but it isn't green.
Chris - where you at? I am glad that Scott's appt went well. That is awesome. Hopefully one day he will be completely healthy. I'll keep praying for you and your family and all that you all get well soon. I'm guessing the abx are kicking your butt today. Sending soft hugs to you today...no eye-popping.
Alrighty...I'm outta here. Need to fix up some lunch.
