 Ladies!!!

I am so ready for this weekend to get here!!!

I am going to go do my first bit of Christmas shopping....I have no intentions of waiting this year....I used to always have it done BEFORE Thanksgiving...but the last few years, that has not been the case!!! So my mission is to have it done by then.

After two nights of almost no sleep, and being so upset....I finally wore down and just passed out on the couch during Criminal Minds last night. Thank goodness for DVR!!!!!

Plenty of :tea: for me today!!!!

Petra....Hi there sweetie. I hear you on that deep frying!!! I never fry anything EXCEPT....FRIED POTATOES!!!! Can't give those up!!!!

Trudy....So happy you like the new job...sounds perfect!!!

Peppermint...that recipe sounds yummy...I love artichokes!!! I cook with them alot!!

Sally....(((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))) I know about the being so sick on the drugs to just give up on them...but NO don't!!! You have to remember through all the YUCK....you have gotten this far already...just see it through and it will be OVER.....otherwise...you have to start from the beginning again!!! EVEN WHEN YOU THINK YOU DON"T HAVE TIME TO BE DOWN...you still need to TAKE CARE OF YOU!!! I am sorry you have to go through this sweetie!!! Now that I have given you that great advice...I really should follow it myself!!! I never do!!! One thing...I have done this before...is it possible to HALF the medicine and take it twice as long???

:ranger: Good morning!

Wow Laurie you really are one busy bee! I hope you will have the energy for some me-time later on.

Krista have a safe flight!

@ Linda: I', sorry, I must have missed something but whatever had you so upset for 2 nights that you couldn't sleep, I hope it's over now and that you can get you some hon!
Wow Christmas shopping...it's getting close to be that time of year again huh? I never know how people can go shopping way early for Christmas. Maybe it is because I absolutely hate to go shopping so I order it online...
I do love Christmas just not the shopping. Gifts or not, doesn't bother me either but I do love the being together and the food, well EATING it of course
And then after feeling bad and guilty you ate too much :help:

Totally different subject and Linda and Sally may have already seen it since they are my friends on FaceBook, but what do you think of the new American Idol judges?
Now I never watch; I don't like it and I am never home anyway. But Steven Tyler of Aerosmith an American Idol judge? That really is like Mahnolo Blahnik selling his shoes at the thrift stores.
And J-Lo the other judge...I wanna bet $5 that this will be the last season.

We're having to go back to work tomorrow for 5-6 weeks so I won't be checking in here for days on end, depending on what load we're having and how much time on it. I only take my laptop out for a few minutes if we have time; otherwise I leave it in its bag as to not tempt myself :D
So let's hope the white stuff will not fall too early this year and no black ice and ice and all...ugh I do not like driving in this time of year.
Have a wonderful day sweeties and I will catch up soon!

Morning darlings!!!! Today is baptism quilt day! Krista ordered one from me with the best scripture and name to embroider and I'm going to add a little lamb to it, too!! :) So that is my goal today- to start and finish that! :) I have many other projects lying around, too, to keep my attention focused!! I am also in the middle of writing a song...the lyrics are not coming so fast this time - well, I actually have trouble with lyric writing, so I am starting to confess that I'm a lyricist. You can fake anything until it comes true, right??? LOL!!

Laurie, ohhhh have a wonderful day today, babe!!! enjoy your me time tonight!! :)

Krista, I did a second take on your post, too!! I was like, you're flying??? To Houston, i hope!! LOL!!! see you tonight to scrap, babe! can't wait!! :)

NanaLinda, thanks for the advice, hun! I did stop taking them last monday because I just could not abide with the side effects. But some day I will take two weeks to just sit and fight this internal infection. It won't happen until after the holidays though! :) I love that you care, though, hun!! and hey!! take your own advice!! LOL!!!! love you!!!

Ohhh Petra, uh, yeah, on the AI...what are they thinking? I'll have to watch just to get my small fix, but we'll see how it all turns out! Enjoy your "work" and take gobs of pics so you can share with us when you get back!! hugs!!

and to everyone who pops in!! LOVE YOU!!!

have a great day, everyone!!! (it's Thursday!! Mr Gorgeous will be in my arms in a little more than 24 hours!! yipeeeee!!)

Good Morning all  Its :rain: here today and I am sure it won't stop raining now until sometime in June LOL, just kidding. But sometimes it seems that way living on the West Coast! Anyway just a quick drop in here this morning as I am off to work (more training) and then next week I start my nice little 4hr shifts Yay!! Hopefully I will have more time here in the next few days for personals. Until then I hope you all have a terrific day!! I am off to shower, :brushteeth: and head out the door :high5:

Good morning ladies...it is barely still morning and probably will be afternoon by the time I post. BUT it is morning right now. :)

It is Thursday already? Wow!! I feel like I got nothing done. We are still trying to work out all the kinks with homeschooling. It is hard but we are working our way through. I had a mini meltdown (okay, maybe not so mini) but after talking to my mom I was a lot better and got some new ideas to make things easier for us. Then I taled to Sally for a bit and she helped me figure some other stuff out. So now I have a new reading program, because I hated the last one and some time limits put in place. I think we'll be good. I am also starting to work with Addie on reading stuff. She wants to work on it and not all at the same time. We'll see how that goes. She is really smart but stubburn. I am also wondering if she doesn't need some glasses. Eye exams are free so we might as well check it out. I think I may just go to Walmart for it. We'll see. I think my eyes have changed recently also and so I need some new glasses. I should set that up right now. Okay got that done.

Uh oh...looks like Ethan has some homework to do today. That is oneof our new things. He drags his feet so badly and my mom suggested we start setting timers for how long he should take on things and that has helped a lot and has made our day sugnificantly shorter. He's not allowed to do his homework until the bus gets here for the school kids so that he is doing his homework when the other kids are or if they don't have their own homework they would be playing outside. That way he's missing something if he is dragging his feet on his work. We break our day up quite a bit but he is having major distraction issues. Derek think we need to get him tested for ADD because he sees a lot of his own issues in Ethan. So we'll check it out and see if there is an issue and if there is, decide how to handle it whether with meds or diet. We'll just see what they say. I am not all about putting my kid on meds just because but if he needs it, you bet I will. I have seen the difference first hand with my husband. It is unreal.

Anyway...I am so back. I've been scrapping, doing contests, posting in the gallery and it is awesome. I missed it soooooo much. Hopefully you'll get some fun posts from me too. I also have to evaluate my CTs and decide where I want to be and if I want to do some begging to get back on some teams. I am just not sure yet.

So, I also need some suggestions...Addie gets into EVERYTHING!!! For every thing I get put away she makes 3 more messes. It is making me CRAZY. Today I am going to try and really get some stuff done.

Oh...so tomorrow I get to buy some Dave Matthews tickets. I am trying to figure out what tickets to buy though. DMB is playing 2 nights where we want to go so I'd like to go both nights. Then I have to figure out about the kids. It is in an arena so we would have to buy them tix. Gets pretty expensive. But I can't not take them. They love DMB as much as I do. So we were thinking of taking them one night but we'll be 5 hours from home. Not sure how we will be handling that yet. I have until tomorrow to decide. I was really excited because I didn't know how we were going to pay for them and then we got a reimbursement from the Army that was more than we needed. Yay!!

I found out that my cousin had a stroke last night. I guess it was a mini stroke, but a stroke nonetheless. She's not very old but a heavy smoker. Her daughter is a nurse and so she noticed and took her to the hospital. That is so scary.

Anyway, I haven't loved on anybody in forever so I need to do that so you don't all think I don't like you... :)

Laurie - Have a good day at work. Yay for time and a half. That makes working with a smile much easier.

Krista - I hope we see you popping in throughout the day.

Linda - I hope everything works itself out for you and that stinks that it is so stressful for you. Sending lots of hugs your way.

Petra - I hope you enjoy being on the road. I'm glad you will be working. That is crazy that you can control yourself with your computer. I definitely can't. Oh, and about those judges...I am not so keen on Steven Tyler after all of his drug-induced spazziness over the past couple of years. It may be entertaining but not the best example to set for kids. It is definitely an interesting bunch. It will be an interesting dynamic.

Sally - I love seeing you in here. Sounds awesome about getting that quilt done...that means you'll be closer to my list of stuff. Yay me. I'm with Linda...I hope you are able to get your abx started in the semi near future. That way you can just be done with it. But I understand about not wanting to be down for 2 weeks, expecially this time of year when fall is in the air and you are moving towards the holidays. Good luck getting it figured out. Hugs!!

Trudy - Did you make a decison about your job? I hope it was an easy decision for you and didn't stress you out. I feel ya on that rain. From what I hear you guys got almost no summer. It started right after I left in th emiddle of July...but then last year we had an amazing summer that started in May. We are still in the 90s here which is kinda nice and different...but it isn't green.

Chris - where you at? I am glad that Scott's appt went well. That is awesome. Hopefully one day he will be completely healthy. I'll keep praying for you and your family and all that you all get well soon. I'm guessing the abx are kicking your butt today. Sending soft hugs to you today...no eye-popping.

Alrighty...I'm outta here. Need to fix up some lunch.

Morning Clarabear!! Sounds like you are having a full plate! :)
I was reading about your son and your husband having ADD. Well my husband also has it and when he was a kid (about 5 years old) they (his parents) put him on Ritolin (sp?).
They both regret they ever did this as not only did it not really fix all the problems at that time, it also made him stop growing. My husband is only 5'5" while his brother is 6'0" and they look almost identical otherwise. But bro didn't get Ritolin.
It may work for some kids but if I were you I would do extensive research before giving your kids any meds no matter what the doctor says. I think they are way too med happy, meaning they aren't looking for other alternatives but hand out meds too quick but that is my opinion :)
I hope you don't take this the wrong way as I really don't mean to tell you what to do but just giving my 2 cents is all :eyebrows:

I'm sorry to hear about your cousin had a stroke. I hope she will be okay!

Dave Matthews sounds like fun! Are you going to take pics if you get to go?

Oh no, I tend to be a bit wordy and think you guys care about my day more than you probably do...but I can't help it. Today was not even that bad. Hahaha!! I just have a terrible case of chronic word vomit.

Dave Matthews sounds like fun! Are you going to take pics if you get to go?

I know exactly what you mean about kids and meds. I agree that docs are very quick to give out meds and get into a routine of using the same ones that they are comfortable with when there might be something else on the market that could be better. I just want to get him tested and checked out to see where he is at...and if meds were ever recommended I would be paying VERY close attention to him. My husband was not given ritalin and is still several inches than his brothers...but that was from his huge weight shifts between football and wrestling seasons and the bulemic tendencies during wrestling season. Nobody can live on ice chips for an entire sports season and not have it affect their growth. Anyway, my husband didn't get meds as a kid and then was medicated as an adult and went from barely graduating from high school to graduating at the top of his class in nuclear medicine school. So we will definitely not go into anything lightly. I'm more than willing to try major diet changes also if that would help. So, we'll just see how it goes.

I will totally take pics at DMB if I go. I can't wait. Buying tix tomorrow.

WOW ... I thought I was the mini-novella writer ... but you my darling take the cake :) hehehehe ... love hearing about your day :) Hope today went better with the kids :) Chat and scrap soon :)

OH CLARA WINS THE NOVEL WRITING AWARD FOR SURE!! I have told her a lot that her move across the country has really cut back on my reading material!!

 You are all so funny and sweet! Anyway I will wave at you all when I pass your house and blow the air horn at 3 AM
I will probably be on tomorrow morning to check my mail real quick and then the fun's over
Does anyone know what happened to the tutorial section of the forum by the way? It has a maintenance message from July on it when you click on the tab. Just wondering as I am always looking to learn new tips and tricks :peace:

Quick drive by ladies! Sorry I've been absent...trying to keep it going as normal as possible...not all that normal. :-( Mom's test results came back and its primary lung cancer...which is better than if it had been the breast cancer that was primary. The PET scan only showed cancer in one lung and the nodes very near that spot on the lung. So that makes it inoperable but they are hopeful that it will respond to a 6 1/2 week course of radiation and chemo. Mom's got the greatest attitude...no matter what the outcome. Tomorrow they will put in a port for the chemo...and then, hopefully, she will get to come home from the hospital tomorrow.

In the meantime, I've got a cold. So I need to stay away so that she doesn't catch it. (That's a development as of this afternoon. :-( ) Now we are off to gymnastics...fortunately soccer was rained out tonight. I'm going to try to find some scrapping time this weekend...we'll see!
