Hey ladies!!
I hope you all had a fantastic Columbus Day. I ended up having a great weekend. It started out very stressful. We had everything all figured out but DH is a spaz and doesn't pay attention or ask questions and so went to the wrong place for the Cub Scout Camporee and was over 1.5 hours from where he was supposed to be. He wasn't lost just not in the right place. Then we were supposed to meet up and I was going to pick him and Ethan up and we were going to finish the drive a couple more hours from there (totaling for me to be about 4 hours) to go to W. Virginia. When I looked it up on the computer I found out it was actually going to be about 6-7 hours and Derek had decided to go ahead and head up. He had Ethan on the back of his motorcycle and wasn't answering his phone and by the time he called me was about 3 hours into the trip. Ethan really wanted to go but was sick of the motorcycle, I had Ethan's stuff, and hadn't even started and Derek thought he was only a little over an hour away. I was freaking out. Derek was acting like a brat and being a spaz all at the same time. I didn't know what to do. Was I supposed to pack and go, or stay put. So, I ended up going because both Ethan and Addie wanted to go and I really did too. It was just so frustrating. But we finally got there got some sleep and then the next morning we got up and started our time there and everything was awesome. W. Virginia is gorgeous. They live right by the largest arch bridge in the western hemisphere and there is a ton of outdoor sports that take place right there...rafting, rock climbing, hiking, zip lining, etc. We went rock climbing. Well, they went rock climbing and I was a spectator. I just don't feel comfortable hauling my big booty up a rock right yet. Once I shrink my booty a bit I will but not yet. I'm a little more motivated now though. Ethan was sure impressive though. He climbed 40-50 feet up and had no fear whatsoever! he's a rock star. And our friend Steve that we went to see, Steve, he is freaking Spiderman. Steve is one of my favorite people and will always have a very very special place in my heart. When we found out that my friend Casey's plane had crashed 3 years ago but didn't know what was going on I asked my husband if he would do search and rescue and he of course said yes. Then he called his friend Steve to come with us. Once we got up there and found out that there were no survivors they packed up their backpacks, got up at 4 AM and both hiked up that mountain to do recovery for the families. It was not pretty and Steve didn't know them from Adam but knew it was important to me. And for that I will forever adore him. Plus he's just a cool guy. I was talking to his wife, who I had never met before this weekend and I was telling her how Steve had seen me throw a temper tantrum or many and then he walked up and I asked him to concur and he not only concurred but said they were well deserved tantrums. It was great. Anyway, it was a great trip and I am glad i went. I am exhausted now though.
Well, I am going to go check out my pics and be thankful that Columbus discovered Cuba. Have a great day everyone. Hugs to you all!!
