Covid 19 Check In!

We are doing fine here in Oklahoma so far. I fear for the near future, but for now, we are OK. We are stocked up on food and, of course, toilet paper. As someone with a history of digestive disturbance, we are ALWAYS stocked up on that so that so...

How's everyone doing? How are things where you are?

I am still working, we pack medicines, so we have to stay for other sick patients.
In my city (Hamont, Belgium near the Dutch border, all borders are closed !) , the first infections are gradually starting to appear, in the old people's home already a few people. Elderly people who are now critical. Then a few people I know have died in the neighboring villages.
I must honestly confess that I am starting to get a bit of a scare, it is getting closer I feel.
Now, here at home we immediately followed all security measures. Robbe runs errands, my husband is a risk patient with his MS, and I go to work. We only come outside to go to work, do some shopping, and occasionally take a walk.

which is also a great fear, that you read everywhere that people who are dying may not have anyone from the family, that seems terrible to both the patient and the family

It's just starting here in Oklahoma too. My mom just will not stay home and it's driving me bonkers!
 
We're in isolation except for me getting out for groceries and I walk Taz while respecting the 6' distance from anyone which isn't a problem but there aren't many people out and about this past wk. Most businesses are closed or on limited hrs with curbside pickup or limited monitored in-store shopping. Shopping is limited to one item only, no multiples. They have plexiglass up at cashiers and no one wants cash, only debit or credit cards. I had to take Taz in for his monthly flush and I had to wait outside until they unlocked the door, got us in and out in just a few minutes, no chitchat, no touching, it was so weird.

My daughter has covid-19 but the lesser strain of it, is feeling sick but can breath fairly well, so isn't hospitalized. She is quarantined for 2 wks. She checks in with me twice a day so I know she 's ok.

I'm working still (at home) as doctors are treating patients with telemedicine consults and are still sending me about 2/3 of my usual workload. I'm glad to be getting out a few times a day to walk Taz. I was feeling really stressed and kind of zoned out about things so stayed offline mostly for a few days, slept and watched TV all of yesterday. I needed that pull-back from everything and feel a little calmer today. The last week or so I've had a hard time focusing on things and felt really scattered from all the stress.

Life is uncertain and scary right now but I want to try to be positive and hope we all come out of this ok.

here you notice very well that people who do not understand it very well, so the elderly, that they all get sick now, my father did not wash his hands after he came back from the store
 
Jess and I have been staying home, but hubs still needs to be at work a few days a week. Things are feeling pretty off kilter trying to get used to this new routine. Schools aren't officially closed, so Jess has a far bit of school work to do, and if I don't supervise, she'll spend all day on the trampoline, dancing or practicing cheer moves. She still has music and dance lessons via webconference too, which has been fun for her. We are all still healthy though, which I am grateful for.

We are doing ok in NJ. So far so good *knocks wood*

My town just recorded its 27th confirmed positive case but we have been staying home for weeks now. Thankfully, the NY/NJ/CT area has been proactive with social distancing.

Vicki and Vera, I hope that your parents will listen to you and stay home. I went through this with my dad a few weeks ago before our Governor shut the state down. he was insisting that he had to go to Mass. He is 81 and my mom has severe heart issues. I yelled at him and then my son was able to talk some sense into him. Then he was insisting gon having to go out and get more food every few days. My daughter mailed him a poster that said Stay the F*** Home. I warned him that I would sic her on him if he didn't stay put! :D
 
Checking in and grateful to say that we are Healthy here! My DH still has to work full time and I stay home full time LOL. I am happy that I can at least talk to my children and grand children via Face time and they are all Healthy also. The kids are bored of course, but hopefully they will get some kind of schooling through online classes soon! It seems there are now 57 Covid19 cases here on the Island. I am not sure exactly where those cases are though. Everyone here is pretty good about staying home and we only go out for a walk or to take a drive somewhere, just to get out of the house for a bit. We have only shopped for groceries twice in the last few weeks and are pretty stocked up with what we need.

I hope that everyone here stays Healthy and stays at home!!
 
I'm at home with my kids and we're fine.
I've been working at home for over 15 days, and this damn f.....g virus is giving me even more work. I'm spending my life in conference calls and falling further and further behind. But it keeps me from thinking too much.
The kids are working too. They have a lot of web conferencing classes. It keeps them busy.
We try to do some sports every day. I ride my exercise bike, and when the weather is good, I ride outside on the terrace.
I don't go shopping more than once a week, and I bake my own bread.


The pressure of this Covid 19 is getting closer every day, and it's scary for us and our loved ones. My parents live 150 kms away and are old now (82 and 81).
And then there's Dids, who is also 180 km away from me. We haven't seen each other for a month (except by Whatsapp) and it's going to be more than a month.

I feel like I'm watching a movie, but unfortunately we are all actors in it...

Rae I hope your daughter will get better soon and that all our relatives will stay nice and warm at home.

I am in New Orleans louisiana and it is a disaster area here. More cases and deaths each day. Nothing is open. Streets deserted... I just stay in my own little world away from the maddening crowd washing my hands. Learning to eat my way through the pantry!!! Just scrapping and hanging out with my dogs. I am fine at home, by myself..DH in isolation as he was in close contact with a person who wife had the virus. He is living close by. 29 week old grandson doing fine in NICU at a new hospital that has no Covid-19 cases (he had to be moved). DD and SIL come by sometimes and we chat nearly daily. My dad is doing fine at the nursing home. they have 2 cases of Covid but they isolated the area of the 2 people. I can facetime with him. DD in Japan is fine...Covid has not affected her too much. I don't go anywhere, just check on my neighbors from the driveway! All good.

Checking in... just got out of the hospital yesterday afternoon after a 3 day stay. My blood pressure went way up. Had been having symptoms for almost week but thought it was dehydration [numbness - tingling in lips/face/hands]. As I had not had high Blood Pressure... never thought that was what was going on. Called the paramedics - they monitored it and it started going down. They said if I had any changes I needed to call them back. They recommended that I contact Urgent Care to see if I could be seen. Daughter took me there and the BP continued to climb so the Paramedics were called to transport me to the Emergency Room. As my BP was up into stroke territory, they ran a CT and then an MRI to rule strokes or TIA out. I was admitted and put on BP meds. The doc wanted to monitor how my body reacted to the BP meds for 36 hours - and good thing as it began to climb again after 12 hours so another one was added. I am back home and doc said I was okay to be living by myself. Will be having Home Health come in to monitor how I am doing. DD#1 picked up my meds and some fresh fruit for me after she brought me home.

We are under a Shelter in Place here in New Mexico. All schools/Universities are cancelled for this school year and only essential businesses are open. I plan on staying home unless my primary care doctor wants to see me.
 
Everyone I know personally is okay. The area of Michigan I live in is one of the hotspots in the USA. I still go to work regularly as veterinary clinics are generally considered essential services but we have really modified which pets we will see and how we will see them. Most people are compliant but it amazes me how some others are so nonchalant about the dangers.
 
i am in kansas city ( kansas side) and state is in lockdown but we are not as bad shape as many states are. still nothing is open except essentials.

thought hubby was going ot be laid off but turns out his workplace is considered essential as they sell soap to other companies

stocked up decently on food but have zero sanitizer ,gloves or disinfectant - its nowhere to be found, just have basic soap
 
in the netherlands we are in "lockdown",
but not as strict as in other countries.
we are advised to stay at home, work from home but we can go out for a walk. but not in groups.

Uni is closed so Haye is at home, he studies/works online.
Maya is here at home too, she is also working from home
my husband is recovering from a broken hip, so we have a bed in the living room because he can not get upstairs
so it is a full house here, but still happy we are all home together.
tonight we heard that the restrictions continue at least until end of April.

I go out for shopping and fresh air.

Kay, I'm glad you're home and feeling better. Take care & as calm as is possible.
Sharon, I'm so thrilled your granddaughter is doing so well. What a blessing to be transferred to a children's hospital that is covid-19 free!!!

I'm ok. I was awake, coughing most of the night. I'm sure it's a cold or allergies, as I have no fever. I'm up & moving (with my strong coffee haha) so the coughing is subsiding some. My DD in NYC, continues to be ill and is confined alone in her apt, so still worry about her. So thankful my 6 month old grandson & his family are all well.
My state, of North Carolina, has about 1600 cases of the virus and 48 in my county.
We are all locked down. I had one of my sweet neighbors come by & knock, this past week, and offered to grab some groceries for me while he was out. It was so sweet, since I really needed a few items. So, as others, I'm cleaning out my once stocked freezer :) and pantry.

found out yesterday that my friend's husband passed from the virus. I'm so afraid it's going to be the first of many. :(
 
My friend who was hospitalized on Friday was released. I forget now if that was Monday or Tuesday. She is on oxygen, but is recovering. I do not personally know anyone else who has the virus. My niece, her husband, and my sister-in-law are still working so my mom is worried.

We are doing well here in Woodville, AL...we are in a super small town of almost 800, if even that, but we do go to the larger towns and cities around us for groceries that our little Dollar General doesn't carry, and other things. My husband started working from home, last week, and he is loving it, of course! lol He is a computer programmer, so easy to do from home (especially since he was allowed to bring his work PC and two monitors home with him) ;) We are concerned about our son who works at a Dollar General that is 20 minutes from our house...he mainly does the stocking, but we worry about the virus being so easily spread. We have told him that he MUST wear a mask and the gloves that DG offers if he wants to continue working there. It IS an important job during this time, but we don't want to risk my husband getting sick because of my son's job... My mom is working on sewing some face masks for us that she will be sending from Texas in the next few days... I hope that my son actually DOES wear the masks while he is working. I know how uncomfortable they can be, and he gets sweaty with some of the heavy lifting....it is just so important to not get the virus through the air. Sorry guys..I know I am rambling........I am venting all of the worries and feelings here....ugh. I hope everyone stays safe and healthy....and get CREATIVE!!! I am honestly hoping that I get some creative juices flowing over here soon........

Diane, I hope your hubby heals quickly...ugh...not a good time to be recovering from something that probably will need physical therapy :(
