coffee maker question

I am thinking of upgrading to a keurig- do you have one, do you love it- did you change from a regular coffee maker? Pro's con's- I would love some input!

I don't have a keurig but I do have the Tassimo. I bought the Tassimo for one reason-it froths the milk for cappuccino.

We used to make a pot of coffee every morning. Then we ended up with jobs where we were getting up at different times. soon found the whole pot of coffee still there. I quit making a full pot of hot coffee since we were wasting it and we started drinking iced coffee. I thought about a single serving coffee maker for those times I wanted a cup of hot coffee. Looked at both the keurig and the Tassimo and ended up with the Tassimo. My husband will make the coffee. I like the caramel machiato latte, chai tea latte, and the cappuccino. They are addicting and can get expensive if you suck them down the way I can! Have to limit myself- not to mention they probably add pounds! the cons for me--I live in a small city with only 2 grocery stores so I have to travel to the big city (over an hour away) or order online. Not as many flavors of coffee as I would like to see. The nice thing-everyone can select their own flavor!

I don't think you can go wrong with either brand.

i have a Keurig. probably the smallest one they make. it's great for our house, because i'm the only one who drinks coffee! you can also get a little insert that allows you to use your own ground coffee, if you want to. i love the variety of coffees i can get in K-cups, and i'm not always throwing away brewed coffee, like i used to when i was using a regular coffee maker. even when i used a tiny pot, i was always throwing some away.

Omgosh...I cannot recommend my Nespresso more!! it makes the most delicious coffee EVER!!! Mr Gorgeous was a Starbucks fanatic...I mean, he would not drink anything but Starbucks and now he won't drink anything but this!!! It makes espresso or regular. AND you can get different flavors from their site. The only drawback is that you can only order the capsules from their site...BUT it arrives at your house the next day...with free shipping!!! :) Amazing! Their Christmas blends were my fave. I recently just finished the last sleeve of Caramel (not sweetened) coffee. I had bought a bunch of it right after Christmas before they discontinued it!!

You can get the maker at any WilliamsSonoma or Sur la Table, and it is worth every penny!!!

I love my Keurig. I am the only one who drinks coffee in my house too. I get tea, cider, coffee, hot chocolate, etc. And it's delicious. A lot of places sell K-cups now, so that's really nice.

I would like to be able to froth better...I have a hand-held frother, but I just saw that Keurig now makes a frother too.

Overall, I'm glad I have it more than one of the others, but because I can get so many kinds of K-cups and get them just about anywhere.

I dont know if it's just me or what but I've had 5 keurig's now because they keep breaking and Keurig keeps sending me a new one. Their customer service is awesome. I've been using the Keurig for years now (got it when it first came out) and now they sell the K cups everywhere so it's really easy to get them. I have become a serious coffee addict because of it though. I ALWAYS have coffee in my hand because it's so easy to make and it tastes awesome to have a fresh cup anytime you want.

sounds good- now to convince my husband! He drinks my coffee, then goes to the gas station to buy his coffee- what does that tell you?

I adore my Keurig. We have the Cuisinart model because I had a few people tell me they had bad experiences with the ones manufactured by Keurig. We've never had any problems with the Cuisinart, but we've only had it for about 10 months.

We bought it because we both have iced coffee habits and it's hard to make single servings of iced coffee with a regular machine.

I have been flipping back and forth between wanting one and not. Same as I have been doing with an e-reader.

I love the idea of it- but we all drink so much coffee that it would be way too expensive on a daily basis. I buy whatever cheap ground coffee is on sale and we go through about 2 cans a week. OTOH- everyone I know who has a keurig style pot adores it, so it might just be a financial point for me.

I personally haven't heard of any issues w/ keurigs breaking, other than what you girls have said. But we went through several "store brand" coffee makers, until my IL's got us a Cuiseinart maker several years ago, and we have not had one problem with it.

That makes me sad, V.

Sad and a little throw uppy. Haha.

lololol I just don't have the patience! I just nuke my water for 1 minute and it's ready! I only do one cup, so I've never bothered with regular. Well, except when we have guests - I keep a coffee maker on hand for that.

I don't drink any hot drinks at all really. Tom sort of figured the Keurig wouldn't get much use if we bought it but we're at the point where neither one of us could live without it. There's no easier way to make iced coffee, I'm convinced. But if we didn't have the Keurig I just wouldn't drink coffee - iced or otherwise.

The Keurig is my enabler.

Vicki, I'm embarrassed for you. :embarassed: The only other person I 'know' in the world who drinks instant is my xh. That's not good company to keep!

But that isn't as bad as getting a teabag next to a tepid cup of water. I also somehow think water nuked to boiling just doesn't taste right either. Does it take the oxygen out of it? Now that we're on the coffee/tea subject, I think I'll go make me a night time cuppa.
