I'm still challenging myself to scrap in Affinity Photo instead of Photoshop for this party.
@annaaspnes recently told me that many elements of her products work well with AP, but that some techniques might be better done in Photoshop, so I thought I'd stick with one of her kits to see how things would go in AP. I found that, as she said, the Fotoblendz and masks worked OK (ignoring the buggy GUI that you have to put up with to make them work) and a bit of recoloring went OK. I already knew that the outer glow wouldn't work the way I wanted so I just lived with it, and I had to come up with a pretty nonintuitive way to do the out-of-bounds. And for some reason, for the first time in the party, AP refused to easily downsize the LO to less than about 700 kb, so I had to do extra work to post in the gallery.

AP will never be my go-to software b/c it doesn't match my digiscrapping style, but the real deal breakers are its GUI which is extremely unfriendly to folks like me who have mild-moderate vision issues, GUI elements that constantly move depending on context and not being able to keep yourself on the layer you expect to be on, so that I'm always making edits to the wrong layer (I asked Affinity about this and they essentially said, "sorry, not a priority for us.")

Very nice redo! The blended photo with the multi-photo arrangements looks really nice in both your layouts! The out of box paw on the dog picture is a nice touch. Thank you for participating in the Redo Challenge!

These are both so awesome!! Over and over I look at the versions to be redone, and I think really? This is amazing! And then I see the redo do and think WOW! This is even more amazing. And yours is a major WOW! I love the grunged and blended background, the photos without the frames, and the monochromatic treatment on the photo looks so fantastic. Thank you for participating in our Redo Challenge!

I redid a layout from 2022. I scrapped the same tradition for 2024.

Both are so gorgeous!! Your tradition looks absolutely delightful! I just love everything about both your layouts! You did a great job with the blending of your main photo, and perfect placement of the small photos. Beautifully done. Thank you for participating in our Redo Challenge!

Here is the page I chose to redo... It was one of Karen's use it all challenges, and I have always hated how it turned out... Not my style in any way... I have spent quite a bit of time, trying to re do it and still use some of the items included in the kit... My new version, could not be more differnt, and would never have qualified for that challenge, but I am happy now....

and here is my very different re do

I'm working on a 2025 calendar which features photos from 2024. I did a similar project last year, so I chose to redo the October calendar topper. Here is the original:

And the new layout using the same template but different supplies and photos. Fun challenge!

Very nice! The muted tones are wonderful with the vintage photo, and the blending and textures are perfect. Thank you for participating in the Redo Challenge!

Nicely done! This is a great template for a calendar page, and a great job using multi-photos. Both layouts are bright and energetic! Thank you for participating in this months Redo Challenge!

I chose to redo this LO:

My new page:
Both you layouts are adorable! The elf is adorable. I like how you kept some of the clustering the same, and the new background is very soothing and calm. Thank you for joining in on our Redo Challenge this month!
