Hi from a sunny south uk coast
Welcome to Oscraps!
Hi All!
Thank you for all your warm welcomes!
Still trying to get my head around how to set everything up for what I can see as a fantastic way to artify (is that a word?!) my photos by hybrid/digital scrapbooking and can't wait to start. As it stands, it seems my Corel PaintShop Pro X7 (not to be confused with Corel Painter, which I don't have) won't cut the biscuit with what I need to do - ok for all you professionals out there perhaps to use but I've had this for years and basically have just been using it to crop/enhance/enlarge/print my photos as I have been unable to do anything remotely like Adobe Elements and certainly find raster layers etc a tad confusing and time wasting! However, now I can see what can be achieved, I want more and an easier time of it!!!
So now I'm just checking I have the requisite hardware and software to purchase this - stage 1!!!
I'll be back!...

Barnowl? well we named our place 'After Barn' 47 years ago as there was an old chicken barn down our garden; we also sailed and there is a buoy in Southampton Water with the same name so that stuck! There are owls in the area; I needed a new name for this site ...and it just popped up in my mind.. nothing more inventive than that!!

Welcome to the O! So happy to have you here!

By the way — I just posted that Digital Scrapper is having a huge sale on their classes and they are especially good with providing step-by-step instructions and even have a full “learning PSE” class. You might want to check it out here:

Hi and welcome to the O! I know exactly what you mean - that was my first reaction too... who needs raster layers and all those digital papers... brushes, stamps, ephemera... masks and blending modes... there is a learning curve to it, and it's a nice hobby, both artsy and useful where you can end up with a gorgeous family album. Having a good software helps, though... just like having a nice pot makes making soup more fun. Hope to see you around! Can't wait to see what you create!

So happy to have you here!
If you are still looking for software, you can try this one out:
It's free- always a great option!- and it is similar to the Photoshop programs. Plus it is web-based so you don't have to download anything.
Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Welcome to the O family! I hope it's not as hot in the souther part of the UK as it is in the southern part of the US. These 100 degree plus days have got to go!
