I love everything about digital scrapbooking. Like starting a layout and going with the flow, sometimes not knowing where I'll end up. Like reaching deep inside and letting my inner self create something beautiful.

But I also LOVE the technical side of it. Playing with shapes, transparencies, opacity levels, blending modes - the latter still needs working on, lol... And I have recently discovered one very simple trick to add interest to any layout - a creased corner is nothing more than just a black rectangle. Can be applied to an edge, a corner, or even the center of a page... Adjust size, transaprency and opacity and be super proud of yourself. Might be not much, but that little discovery made me feel rvery cool about myself.

Folded corners are fun to make and you get to use another paper too.
I have been playing with brushes to make my own photo masks. Not a new trick for many but I like it because I am able to make a mask that is specific to an image. Or add a masked patterned paper to a solid paper to make something unique.

Oh, I remember when I discovered that - I had been wondering HOW people blend in photos and papers into background and when I stumbled upon the how-to tutorial, I felt like I'd just discovered America, and not something so many had known all along.

Recently, I was reading Anna Aspens' blog and saw a tutorial on using the Mixer Brush on an artsy background. I had never used that Tool before but following the tutorial, I got some really neat results. It isn't something that I will use often but I like that it gives me a wider range of techniques to fool around with. Here is a link to the tut:

Oh, I love adding texture to background. And Anna's brushes are amazing!
