I do rather enjoy creating collage layouts with my own twist or spin...I really liked how Rachel Jefferies "Sanguine" Collection...went so well with Maya DeGroot's "Quirkiosa No.1" 's...nature theme & colors...So I decided to put them both together in 1 layout & see how it would turn out...Right...
The May Art Journaling Challenge #3 has been posted. This week's topic is "Family Comes In Many Shapes and Sizes.
I scrapped about my "Second Mom", Lois and used Palvinka Designs Book of memories Collection. Font is Smatter Regular and the journaling reads:
"I always called
Lois my second
Mom...
This layout certainly highlights how much my life has been an "Uphill Battle" for sure...since my terrible fall...But again, the layout is full of hope & positivity...Life can be "Hard"...but we will "Keep On Keeping On"...As "Sometimes The Best Thing is To Take A Break"...[which I did...]...But...
Sometimes...it takes something really difficult that has happened to you...or comes your way...to realize...how strong you have to...can be...to deal...to live...to overcome...I have been through so much these last many months since my terrible accident...I honestly am not sure how I got through...
The May Art Journaling Challenge is about Family Reflections. There's a lot of hidden meaning on my page and Crafty Button's Black Water Mini Art Journaling Kit was perfect for what I wanted to express.
I had SO much fun with this collection by Lynn Grieveson. Circus Circus is just full of any kind of elements, papers and mixed media. The only thing I added were the ??? and I used Modern No 20 Regular font to make them. I thought it was humorous to have the clown's face next to the mime.
I was inspired by the mood board, specifically the Dia de los Muertos image. While I don't have any Mexican heritage, I'm inextricably drawn to this holiday. Because it falls on November 1st and 2nd, it has been "lumped" in with Halloween. Dia de los Muertos (The Day of The Dead) is not a...
Family is an essential part of our lives. It is where we learn our first words, take our first steps, and develop our values and beliefs. Our families are the people who shape us into the individuals we become, and they have a profound impact on our lives. The relationships we form with our...

The butterfly, seagulls, lizard and hibiscus are all extractions from my own photos.
I created the painted look for the notebook background by clipping one of the artsy papers to the notebook element and setting the blend mode to Darker Color.
Created for the April Art Journaling Challenge #2 - Food
This is totally different than my normal style of art journaling. No blending. No paint. Totally different for me. But sometimes we just have to go where the creative muse leads us.
Created for the April Art Journaling Sleep Challenge. I've struggled with sleep since I was a child. I've always envied people who can just lay down and go to sleep.
I used Rachel Jefferies Dreamscapes Kit and Rachel Jefferies Epic Cosmic Stuff.
