Sandhill cranes! We had to cancel our migration trip of March 2019 (late migration) and March 2020 (Covid). Maybe next year we will make it to Nebraska. Meanwhile, you had quite a day! One for the books, for sure. Congrats on the GSO.
Sorry about the golf, but happy you got outside in the gorgeous scenery. And may I suggest you find a fabric butterfly and sew it to that hat? It would be a very cool look! PS: Congrats on the Standing O!
Your jounaling supports the story well and I can only imagine your frustration. Your visual design is like a punch to the gut...I relate...different circumstances, same effect. What really strikes me, though, is how you have channeled the depth and intensity of your personal emotions into...
Wow. This is fantastic. I think the Great Blues are my spirit bird. I was surprised to find out in my ornithology class the other day that they're a murderous bird. In attack mode, they go straight for the face/eyes/brain and they pack a wallop. There actually are documented heron murders...
Just hang on! The palm trees will continue to whisper your name and you'll get back there soon. Meanwhile, it's great to get lost in the sweet memory--like IsDK said... "immersion therapy"!
I still give Easter goodies to my adult kids as well as to the grands, and lifted the idea of my bunny bags (which are actually kitties) from Applechick's Instagram account. They were a pretty big hit.

I definitely get the "legacy" aspect of this. I think we all share a common urge to be seen and to be heard and to share, and the urge becomes more refined as we become more seasoned in life. Beautifully done!
There's something to be said about the value of absence...heart growing fonder and all that. But sometimes separation is just plain painful, and I am not a fan of bureaucracy in general. Fervently hoping that the family can reunite this summer. Meanwhile, you've done some beautiful documentation...
