Beautiful close-up. I love these trees with pink flowers, and we have whole streets lined with them, and I have two of them.. My favorite shade of pink, too.
Reed suggested there might be hummingbirds at Jasper's just before the Portal store. We were going to the store anyway, to pick up our peach cobblers, and it turned out to be a great place for us, but the hummingbird feeders were in the shade at 10 am. Such a different habitat, we'd go back.
The numbers of hummingbirds we had always seen in other years just weren't around. So we asked Reed to tell us anything about their habits. He pointed above us to a zone-tailed hawk, and explained how the smaller birds are just doing what they must to avoid being lunch.
The lush forest is front and center, and I love that you captured the bird, too. What a gorgeous place. I'm trying to picture you two taking a selfie with the binoculars, but that only makes me love the photo all the more. ;)
Ha. This past week I was fascinated by its relative Spanish Broom, and extracted a stalk for one of my pages. I'll post them all up one by one or two by two... soon. I walked by one bush repeatedly, and can't even imagine it as prolific as your photos show. Wow.
Wow! The first I have seen of her and she looks so much like you. Beautiful photo and page, but it's the photo of the two of you that I adore. Happy Mother's Day!
