This LO is really pretty straight forward. The ship image is on Ann’s wonderful overlay used as a mask and at the bottom is one of the kit papers blended with a vector mask and gradients. Added the photo, elements and journaling to finish it up.

This pushed me a little Hooray!
The background is paper 11 in pin light mode over paper 5 with paint 2 sandwiched between them.
Lady in a Red Dress is blended with background in overlay mode.
The line drawing is clipped to paint 2 as a mask. Paint is modified with the color burn blending...
I was given a great idea and decided to run with it. There are loads of heritage/genealogy LOs in the gallery. Some people don't even realize they've made a genealogy page! I thought it would be a nifty, neat, and cool idea to not only post our own LOs in this thread that we'd like to share...
So, let's start off with one of the big ones. How DO you handle your family history photos?
I have a folder inside each of my family research folder simply entitled "Pictures" Then I have folders inside for each family line and subfolders for photos shared with me by my research cousins. I...
@tanteva Eva, I knew you would be here. Maybe you can give us some pointers on researching your part of the world. I would love that!
And your tips on no photo LOs are GREAT! as Tony the Tiger would say. Those photo-less ones are always a challenge for me.
@scrap-genie Jean, I can wait for...
@scribler Cindy, you have no cousins that might be interested. Sweetie, you can join my family, we'd love to have you!
Those are beautiful LOs! I LOVE the stories. Yes, I believe you CAN die of a broken heart. I'm positive my mother-in-law did.
Have you considered giving your research to...
@Jam-on-toast That's a fantastic LO! I need to re-do some of my earliest pages made in the infancy of digi scrap. Beautiful then, they don't pass muster now!
You know, every kit from Idgie's Heartsong is probably on my wish list. I have her original Grandcestors collection - different from...
My daffodils have been waving hello for about a month now - the longest we've had them last. There are literally thousands of them in huge drifts at the back of our property. They always make me happy. The trees are blooming and budding out and the days are soft and sweet, nights still cold...
I think I probably need to make some new ones, too. I see mine is from the very earliest days of the site - all text and no images! I don't change mine very often, usually a challenge or when there is a good reason to.
@vickyday I resemble that remark, many not even installed yet. I have an organizer/viewer app but have no idea what to do with it and how to get the fonts to PPSC. I can usually make a computer do almost anything - except organize and manage my fonts (alphas, too, and paper, and...)!
This LO took a lot of playing with but was worth it. The background is two of the kit papers blended with text overlays in between. The layers immediately above are stamps, then the photos with 2 OOBs. I used the largest photo clipped to each of the 3 masks and applied the two smaller...
What a great challenge!
This is a photo of my cousin Debby that I hand-tinted. She is 9 months older than me, putting this in 1956. My aunt made this beautiful ensemble. She was a gifted seamstress.
I started with a solid background with the sparkles overlay, layered on 3 patterned papers...
I have the books themselves @faerywings but I also have them on my Kindle. There's nothing like sitting down to a good book, a cup of good cofee, snuggles under a quilt by the fire when it's cold. It's like time with your best friend. But I also like to read in bed without having to get up to...
I used this LO by Britta as inspiration
This LO uses Lynn's Here & Now Template 1.
I started with paper 3 for the base, then paper 8 for the top block.
I used kit paint elements in place of the paint on the template and also clipped paint elements to the triangular pieces of the template...
