I love to seek and find--the meadow is really inviting. I don't think of iris in that setting, but then I was surprised to find swamp iris all over the Adirondacks. I grow the bearded and dutch types--much more cultivated but still hardy, and I like to think of these flowers having robust cousins.

These are wonderful photos! And an excellent presentation of the magic of these birds. We've had a very aggressive male this year who owns the feeder, and he's even dive-bombed me when I go out to grab it for cleaning.

Wow indeed! I LOVE those sleeves! Love the layout, the story--everything. I know what you mean about cotton flopping--the Cave Glow kids like to stock my knit Waldorf crowns (which has a lace thing happening across the mid-section), and when I experimented with leftover cotton yarn the crown...
