I love to seek and find--the meadow is really inviting. I don't think of iris in that setting, but then I was surprised to find swamp iris all over the Adirondacks. I grow the bearded and dutch types--much more cultivated but still hardy, and I like to think of these flowers having robust cousins.
These are wonderful photos! And an excellent presentation of the magic of these birds. We've had a very aggressive male this year who owns the feeder, and he's even dive-bombed me when I go out to grab it for cleaning.
The expanse of sky and geology...and then the teensy portraits...yes, that is EXACTLY how it feels. Love this! (My second car was a metallic green 'stang, rear-wheel drive and all.)
