We watched the water of Cave Creek diminish every day while we were in Arizona as the spillway was just outside our window. A local told us it hadn't rained in six weeks, but monsoon season in the summer would be likely to bring the creek back by the time we returned in September.
By Thursday we'd settled into the routine of a visit to the front porch at 6am & 6pm, and a trip around 9am to David Jasper's feeders. It was funny to watch birds getting the last of the jelly in a jar. On a side trip to the Portal Library, we found lots of yellow bird of paradise flowers.
Love the warmth and especially the red. The tiny images in the blended photo make me want to squint and see more, and there is so much to imagine when I can't make it out. So interesting and abstract! ;)
Love the desert. The fruits are so colorful this time of year. Feels so much like where we'll be in Arizona in less than two days. It seems like it rains at least once every trip, too. ;)
