They are lovely on a salad and you pick them when they're pretty and rinse them like you would lettuce. I did an image search for 'edible marigold' and garden gate magazine had a photo of a pretty salad of just mixed greens and flowers. ;)
Reed told us the place we liked in Paradise was gone, but we drove up to see for ourselves. I loved the scenic narrow road, but also there was another place, George Walker House we wanted to try. Maybe it was a good place for birders, but yard clutter showed up in nearly every photo.
I like the note, the stitches and the sequins. Yes, marigolds. They're good to keep insects away I think. I love these because they're so simple with the single petals and they're edible. ;)
On our last day we told Reed about the party in our attic. He said we heard ringtails and that they'd get indignant when he relocated them. We met James Petersen, a very helpful bird guide who had been birding since he was five. He ID'd the black-throated sparrow I saw at Jasper's.
Congratulations on the Standing O! A wonderful collection of photos to honor probably the favorite flower of any toddler and nemesis of [almost] every suburban lawn mower. I love the sun, moon stars thing and just might borrow it.
The red flag winds were worrisome but at Jasper's it was very comfortable out taking photos of birds when it was 89 degrees. We were happy we found an alternative to Lordsburg's mediocre restaurant that we'll make a habit, and we'll remember being a few feet from a curled up rattlesnake.
Wow! Seven sisters. I'm glad they gave you fond memories. This is a beautiful page design. And I thought for a moment, in 1952, none of them could have a credit card without a man's signature.
