The day was warm, and the crocus blooms were lovely. Common Grackles flew over calling. Spring was in the air. It's still coming and going, but it's getting close.
Cheryl @Cherylndesigns and Jane @janedee I have not been able to keep up with the mixed media work. I've done at least one that I haven't posted and have a partially finished one. Today at my usual art class I did one in a small watercolor pad. It's not in the sketchbook I've been using and is...
Here are anther 8 days of photo prompts. Today's "time" may look strange, but it takes time for a shovel to rust which this has done since my neighbor left it last fall. Now daffodil shoots are coming up around it as time marches on. The scent is a lilac bush just barely with leaf buds...
Day 14 MM page is done. I'm toying with various ideas and so the daily pieces may suffer from that, but it's interesting anyway.
DH says this is what it looked like out the window the other day in the snow. I've started with layers of collage, ink, acrylic white, and colored pencil. Again...
Is this day 14? I've lost count. I know I have the photos, but my creative techniques LO is going to have to be my Day 13 effort. I started a MM page yesterday but it is far from done and I'll be lucky if it gets done tonight.
Todays' photo prompt is favorite scent and I swear mine is lilacs...
I use PaintShop Pro (PSP) and went in my own direction. For the first pass I did a split channel to RGB which gave three version from which I chose the Green. Layered that with the original, did the intermediate gray with a texture effect. Created a jpg then and used two layers in the LO, bottom...
Three orchid buds seen against poinsettia leaves are now all in full bloom and looking wonderful. We've had this orchid five years, reblooming every year.
If you want to scrap thumbnails, Joanne Brisboise has templates and quick pages for 50, 75 or 100 photos. I don't think I've used those but have used maybe up to 25 in another kit of hers.
I'm going to start a new place for the next set of mixed media. Here is Day 11. DH says it's Times Square with so many people and he could be right.
Now if I could get today's for Day 12 started.
Not that happy with day 12, partly because the yellow paint is a bit much and a bit too yellow...
Oh, Cheryl, thank you! :lovey3: I'm so pleased it appeals to you. White space makes me uncomfortable, but this just seemed right for the photo and I still got some journaling in.
The honeysuckle is meant for summer hummingbirds, but it shelters other birds year round and makes wonderful shadows on the garage door. Little green shoots in February are a lovely sign of spring to come.
Photographing "air" is a concept beyond me. I just went with an idea for this windy day. I took a short video of trees in the wind then blended three frames into my POTD. I'm not sure it's that interesting but a detail from it looks promising.
Chris @faerywings here are crocus buds from last...
