I love the addition of your personal journaling to it. So many heritage pages (and normal pages as well) show none of that. I try, but many times I fall short since I don't know the story and no one is left to ask...

Was the photo colorized? I has that look to it. Lovely! I like how you picked up on those colors for your accent bits.

And I'm currently scanning in my uncles' military pics from WW2. Mom had 3 brothers who were in the war. Speaking of understanding another language, I could understand Polish as we lived in the flat above my grandparents and neither of them spoke English. Mom & Dad were both born in the USA. I...

And one more. This one features my 1st cousin once-removed. I recognize the street and buildings behind her. She lived in the home I was raised in. Taken circa 1941, the empty lot behind her is now filled with small single-family dwellings.

Unfortunately, I'm the little one frowning in the top left photo. LOL! Me and my brothers and first cousins. :)

And another. Celebrating my grandmother's 60th birthday.

Gosh, I've not updated this post with some of my more recent heritage layouts. Doing this now. This one is not particularly old, from 1946, but I still think it can count. :-) My first cousin Judy/Judi is the little one here, posing with her friend.
