Thank you. It was a photo I recently found doing my magnetic album photo removal. I love that my mother is wearing white socks with her shoes. I just wish I knew the exact year it was taken... I have a thing about dating each photo on a layout, even if it is just a "circa". At least I know that...

A blast from the past - Genealogy in the Gallery - April

I just posted this one. It features a photo of my mother, circa 1941. She had written on the backside "Brookfield Zoo", but nothing else.

Welcome to the new Genealogy/Heritage forum

It is wonderful to know some of the details, including what she did for a living. Great photograph. Do you know circa the date this was taken? Based on her neckline, thinking around 1910???

Thank you. Yes, you are right. John lived there for the first 5 years of his life. Then the family moved out to a 90 acre farm.

Welcome to the new Genealogy/Heritage forum

I'm scanning in pics from pre-1960. Many are from WW2. 3 of my uncles were in the war. Only a few from the late 1800's. Lots are from the 1930s and 1940s.

What's the oldest photo you have?

Unfortunately, I don't have the original. That resides with my 95 year old mother-in-law. I recall it being on a board, but I believe it was larger than a cabinet card. I scanned the original around 15 years ago, and I don't recall.
