I love these little doves. This one was sitting in a huge tree and because the sun had gone down I could hardly see it. I brightened up the image itself and then painted in a bright sunset with a brush that I coloured for a backdrop to make it look more realistic. I could watch them all day...

What luck! Might try and lift your design. Love it.

It's a Blue Indian Ringneck Parakeet that escaped from its cage and flew into a neighbour's backyard tree. Luckily it was spotted and the owner called. Most likely it would have perished in the wild.

I've have a couple of Irish ancestors on the family tree and one was an orphan who got assisted passage to Australia during the potato famine. I've been reading about what went on and was shocked. I don't think it's widely understood how brutal it was. Worse than anyone can ever imagine...
