I'm Done with Summer!!

Are people complaining about summer here? :rollingpin1:Then I've come to the right place!
In Germany – specifically in Lower Saxony – it's been raining since May!!! During our vacation at the seaside in May, it was chilly and started to rain, and it's been raining nonstop ever since!!! We've had 68°F at best. During the short breaks in the rain, we have to encourage the dachshunds to do their business quickly and with dry feet, because they hate rain. We wonder why all this watering is happening... Last year, we completely remodeled our patio and added new furniture. A covered chill lounge with a mini-TV is one of the new highlights, which we've only been able to use a few times since we bought it last year.
It's a real shame. :crying1:

Are you? I live in Vegas and it's just so flipping hot. I'm so done with burning my hands to try to drive, and carry the dogs to go out and pee because the asphalt is too hot. I just have no motivation for anything when I'm this hot!

I was in Vegas(the strip) in May and the weather was beautiful. I barely brought a sweat outside. We hit the pavement averaging 8 miles a day! That must be the pleasant month! I have heard lately it is unbearable. We have high humidity, and it is warm here. We haven't got to 100 yet, but we hit 95.

In May it is beautiful!!!

Just call me Goldilocks. I don't want the weather too hot or too cold. I want it "just right", a.k.a. fall or spring. Fall is my favorite season. I don't like hot, sweaty, drippy, icky grouchy me in the middle of a heatwave. I have long ago determined I would have never made it in the pioneer days wearing those long dresses and petticoats. I would have gone mad!:floorlaugh:

I´m with you, Susie!! it´s very hot in Portugal too. We will have 38ºC on Sunday, it makes me want to leave to a place cooler :eek3:
I'm in Finland and last week we were at 32ºC (89ºF) , with a house of double wall and all kind of material to keep warm the house during the winter, it was like oven, so we ended up sleeping in a tent in the yard, and it was cooler, especially during the night, the temp. went down to 18ºC (64ºF):yesss:

I too dislike summer, I LOVE :heartpumplove: :lovey3: winter. I'm so glad that basically this week will start our early autumn (raining days, cooler temperatures, and cooler nights):yesss: dance4
Our temp. for today, max 18¤C and min. 11¤C

Strange weather! I never thought it could be so hot so far north in Europe, unbelievable.

Yes, this year, well actually from 2021 the weather has been warmer here too, this year it took 3 weeks (21 days) with temperatures that reached the 34¤C during 2 days, and because we have the midnight sun, at some point it was irresistible, like real oven. And with warm temperatures the thunders and lightnings are daily bread, I'm really longing for winter, but deep winter with temperatures below zero :giggle4:
Take care Ana :lovey3:

Ok I'm the Feak-O I love summer!
We used to live in CT with all 4 seasons now in FL ( 8 years now). However we been traveling all summers so have not really experienced a Florida Summer. This year we have been in CT, upstate NY, VT and NH and it has been HOT everywhere I have to admit. There were days when it was hotter up here than FL. The humidity does get to me after awhile but I just slow down what I'm doing and find shade. I really hate the cold, snow and ice since I have gotten older so the heat of FL is ok with me. Beside I like the cheerful green and sunshine over the dreary dark brown winters in the North, it might be better is the snow stayed around but it usually turns into a mucky brown mess.
Me too Debby, I'm in your club and love summer! But, I have to admit that this one and the heat domes we had have tried my patience. I'm glad your trip. is going well, sorry it has to end. Me too, as you know - hate the cold! :heartpumppink:

It's very hot here in OK. Today it was 90. UGH. Got up this morning and there was condensation on the OUTSIDE of my windows. You know it's hot when................Just looked at the weather app and it's supposed to be a high of 82 tomorrow. I hope it stays that way for a while.
I haven't been able to see out of the windows in the morning because of the condensation for weeks now. Partly because of the AC & incredibly high humidity.
@BoatLady I will join you. I am NOT done with Summer, but I am done with this unusual excessive heat. It broke on Wed. night- (finally!) after a month of above avg/ 110 heat indices. :fan:NEVER had such a summer here like this- irony of it is this is exactly why we want to move. Haven't been outside in nature since the end of May. :sad2: Winter has been extremely cold for past two years- as cold as Ohio. So weird. This next week has highs in 80's which also is unusual for SC, but I will take them! Just want to open my doors and windows! View attachment 453072
We've had the AC going since late April. We never open the windows because of my allergies and hubs aversion to dust LOL, but the pollen was so bad I was using my inhaler 3 or 4 times a day. We're had excessive heat warnings off & on for weeks & air quality alerts literally all summer long. Not minor ones either, but air quality bad for everyone because of wildfires in Canada and we live in far SE Minnesota. We haven't even ridden our bikes. Living in Minnesota with our miserable winters, I hate to wish away summer, but it's been hard to enjoy it. At the lake for the week the heat didn't bother us and even though there were air quality alerts we ignored them. We've had the AC going since late April. I've never seen condensation on the outside!
It's not completely gone until about 9:30 in the morning, but when I get up at 4 they are totally covered.
Lucky you! We have giant mosquitos here and one actually bruised me yesterday.
Do you live in Minnesota? Ours are so big we put saddles on them. We've had LOTS of rain all summer so have a bumper crop of mosquitoes. Only plus side of spending so much time inside is not getting bit.

You not breaking a sweat is a hoot . Me, a pail in each armpit and shoes overflowing . In Key West, 70's & 80s and by the time we walked the mile and a quarter across the island for breakfast I'd already wiped out the fresh clothes for the day. You not breaking a sweat is a hoot . I'm with you two summer lovers, but it's been hard to love this year. June was either raining or cold with maybe 2 days of warm. Smoky air the rest of the time so the skies have been hazy blue, never really true blue and sometimes the air just stinks. Winter is OK for December and part of January, but there's a reason I ordered plane tickets to Key West on Saturday and booked our motel today.

You said that perfectly, "It's been hard to love this year"!
I'm glad you can fly to warmer parts in Winter. NJ winters here are no fun. :beatingheart:

YEP. We have condensation outside on windows every day-from late May onward. LOL
