Are you? I live in Vegas and it's just so flipping hot. I'm so done with burning my hands to try to drive, and carry the dogs to go out and pee because the asphalt is too hot. I just have no motivation for anything when I'm this hot!
Yeah...I am in Alabama and the "feels-like" temps have been crazy...we ARE under a heat advisory warning, yesterday and today it was in mid 90's with a "feels-like" of 106...and when we manage to get a bit of rain, it makes it all gross and muggyYes, it's my least favorite season too, and especially this year. I live in the mountains of NC and it feels like FL around here lately with horrible humidity and heat. I'm so ready for fall . . .![]()
Exactly, the same here, Jenn. We're have a few days this coming week predicted to be in the seventies, which will probably be in the mid-eighties, but will feel like pure heaven, compared to what it's been!Yeah...I am in Alabama and the "feels-like" temps have been crazy...we ARE under a heat advisory warning, yesterday and today it was in mid 90's with a "feels-like" of 106...and when we manage to get a bit of rain, it makes it all gross and muggyI always like to "hope" that Fall (my favorite season) will be mild and wonderful like it was even when I was growing up in Texas, but I have not witnessed anything like that over the last 15 years....it's just a continuation of heat, and then a few weeks of what I would consider to be "Fall" weather happening around early Winter, and then COLD...

We have two Chihuahuas, and they will NOT go to the bathroom in the house (thank God) or the backyard, so we HAVE to walk them.Add humidity to that and you are in Japan! I am with you.... I am glad I don't have a dog because poor thing, he/she wouldn't be going out much lol
I live under my AC all summer long... as much as possible... unless I need to eat![]()
Oh wow - that is hot!! Do you have much humidity?I´m with you, Susie!! it´s very hot in Portugal too. We will have 38ºC on Sunday, it makes me want to leave to a place cooler![]()
The only thing I can say about Vegas heat is that it's rarely humid. This year, I am so done with Summer. It wasn't too bad up until a couple of weeks ago and then it went nuts. This week we've had a heat advisory all week. Mid 90s temps with feels like of 109.
My friend is in SC and she says the same exact thing.@BoatLady I will join you. I am NOT done with Summer, but I am done with this unusual excessive heat. It broke on Wed. night- (finally!) after a month of above avg/ 110 heat indices.NEVER had such a summer here like this- irony of it is this is exactly why we want to move. Haven't been outside in nature since the end of May.
Winter has been extremely cold for past two years- as cold as Ohio. So weird. This next week has highs in 80's which also is unusual for SC, but I will take them! Just want to open my doors and windows! View attachment 453072
You're not a freak - lots of people love the heat! I just don't happen to be one of them!! LMAO!!Ok I'm the Feak-O I love summer!
We used to live in CT with all 4 seasons now in FL ( 8 years now). However we been traveling all summers so have not really experienced a Florida Summer. This year we have been in CT, upstate NY, VT and NH and it has been HOT everywhere I have to admit. There were days when it was hotter up here than FL. The humidity does get to me after awhile but I just slow down what I'm doing and find shade. I really hate the cold, snow and ice since I have gotten older so the heat of FL is ok with me. Beside I like the cheerful green and sunshine over the dreary dark brown winters in the North, it might be better is the snow stayed around but it usually turns into a mucky brown mess.
I actually agree with you - it IS a dry heat, however with so many people moving here, and planting lawns and such, we are getting more humid. GRR.Dang hot and humid here in NJ too. Not as bad as Las Vegas -- but at least you get a dry heat. (Go ahead, hit me for that one that you have heard a gazillion times)
Real Feels earlier this week were over 100* -- Today is cooler and I am not sure if my body has adjusted yet![]()
70's???? That's positively HEAVEN!Exactly, the same here, Jenn. We're have a few days this coming week predicted to be in the seventies, which will probably be in the mid-eighties, but will feel like pure heaven, compared to what it's been!![]()
I've never seen condensation on the outside! It's very hot here in OK. Today it was 90. UGH. Got up this morning and there was condensation on the OUTSIDE of my windows. You know it's hot when................Just looked at the weather app and it's supposed to be a high of 82 tomorrow. I hope it stays that way for a while.
That's kinda like VEgas too. We have a very very short Spring!Yeah...I am in Alabama and the "feels-like" temps have been crazy...we ARE under a heat advisory warning, yesterday and today it was in mid 90's with a "feels-like" of 106...and when we manage to get a bit of rain, it makes it all gross and muggyI always like to "hope" that Fall (my favorite season) will be mild and wonderful like it was even when I was growing up in Texas, but I have not witnessed anything like that over the last 15 years....it's just a continuation of heat, and then a few weeks of what I would consider to be "Fall" weather happening around early Winter, and then COLD...

I would kill for 80 degrees!I'm not done with summer. However, my 80° is no where near what you are dealing with. I would be done too. Right now, I am loving it for a bit longer. Longer days, warmth, windows wide open all night long. I do feel that way about January about winter, so cold dogs dont want to go out, car so cold because I forgot to plug in the engine block heater. I hope it cools down for you soon.
we have 44% per today but the wind is only 6km/hr what makes it feel much hotterOh wow - that is hot!! Do you have much humidity?
Absolutely wild that a few days ago, we were also in the upper 90s and our Real Feel Temp was 101* and I live in NJ!This year, I am so done with Summer. It wasn't too bad up until a couple of weeks ago and then it went nuts. This week we've had a heat advisory all week. Mid 90s temps with feels like of 109.

One thing I am happy about is that Vegas is really good at water conservation, but with these people moving in who aren't used to the desert need to learn our ways!
Don't get me started on people planting lawns when they are not feasible to grow without using so much water.
I read a study the other day about how towns and cities are sinking because the groundwater and aquifers are drying up, causing the topsoil and underlying soil layers to collapse.
(oops, I got started. I'll stop now)
Thank God we have very few mosquitoes here in Vegas. We do have some in the swampy lands thoWe aren't as hot as you but it's way to too hot for my comfort level. I was away on a 2 day birding trip and it was 34 each day and scorching hot with humidity. Ugh. The birds weren't impressed and many were not seen after the morning, they were off trying to find shade in the denser bush areas. We had fun but were soaked by the end of each day. The mosquitoes loved us.
