The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
:dancingbfly: It's here! It has started!! And my cousin, the O Birthday Fairy, wants to know:
Have you heard????
and
Will there be cake? Do you like parties with cake?

Go check out what my faery cuz has planned this week!

How was your day yesterday? I had a totally messy head space in the morning but -- *huge sigh of relief* -- somehow, no idea how we pulled it off, everything worked out. The bubble gum and duct tape held firm and we all lived to face another day. Hahah!

My coworker came and got me and it turned out that I wasn't on her way. The AC in her lakehouse died and she had to spend the night at her regular home which is in the opposite direction of me. We get to work, wait for the school buses to show up and they are a half hour late. (lemme tell you, you haven't experienced true fear until you are standing in a parking lot and 4 school buses roll up on you! :floorlaugh:) This school had a hard time that they *had* to be on their way home so we had to shorten our morning rotations by 10 minutes. That doesn't sound like a lot on "paper" but it is when you have to move 25 4th graders from one area to another. Before we got started, we noticed a glitch in the groups. Switching the classes to new rotations can be tricky and the glitch meant that what we had scheduled was wrong. We ended up meeting at one central place and conferred. Later, my coworker said that we looked like the Spiderman meme, all pointing our fingers at each other with questioning looks on our faces. Bwuahaha!
Last "glitch" of the day-- because the rotations were so short, the teachers approached Lauren to see if there was a way to do one longer rotation after lunch so all groups had enough time doing the stream study. That meant two stream rotations- changing out who was helping who, did we have enough nets/supplies etc. At least we didn't have to switch groups./rotations LOL!

But it all worked out and the kids had a blast. Also awesome news-- Gary texted me right before the field trip ended that he has swapped cars at the shop. He was able to pick me up which was a blessing for Nicole. She was going to drive me home and then go right back to work for a meeting she had at 2, cutting it close. Now Cait's car is at the shop and hopefully that will be ready for her when she gets home/
I spent some time playing with all of the girls and Ripley is still the maniac of the group.

I am off in a few minutes to get ready for the K9 Hiking/First Aid class.

Have a fun weekend and enjoy that party!

I am in love with everyone's 19 yo selves. How fun to see what we looked like last year
Tonight is Demolition Derby that our son is driving in. I want to wish him the best of luck and be safe. I wish I could be there but we cannot make it. I do find it hard to watch sometimes--seeing your kid in a car that is being crashed into. Then after is the big after party at his house which is always fun. Bonfire of pallets and food & drink for lots of people. So sad to miss that. He will have to use last years fireworks!!! LOL
So dear O-friends please wish him a safe evening.
:thud:
There is no way I could watch that. Nope, no way. I know that it's too late for safe thoughts but how about not too many aches and pains when he rolls out of bed today?
How did he get involved in that? It's not your everyday run-of-the-mill hobby.

@Terri M The laundry-- that is how I feel about fitted sheets, I kinda smooth them out and roll them up. I can't get them flat so I don't even try LOL
*hands over some extra bubblegum and duct tape to your DD*
That sounds complicated and messy and aggravating - dangerous with the asbestos too.
@faerywings Good luck with the cars! Sometimes I think we’d all be better off with horses.
Hahahahaha! I always wanted a horse when I was a kid.
Good morning ladies. I am just popping in to say hi and need to get back to jewelry design, then packing everything up for tomorrow morning. It'll be a busy wkend, Jen and I will be exhausted by the end of Sunday but hopefully I'll have lots of sales to make it worth my while. Wish me luck.
Happy selling vibes to you!! Have fun and good luck!!!!!

Thank you! I'm being careful and cant over do it. By 9a.m. I have my compression pants back on. 12 hours on 12 hours off so I make sure bedtime is OFF!!! LOL
When I was younger, I had to wear a back brace for scoliosis. I remember to this day how I would strategize my hours out of it. I 100% understand why you want to make sure bedtime is your Off time.
Have fun with the party challenges!

@BrightEyes :waving1

BRB, dogs need to go out

@BoatLady You are having such incredible adventures!
The campground community seems pretty tight-knit, which must make it feel like home in all the places that you stay.
I can't imagine how much you love having the new camera for the sightseeing and wildlife.

LOL---WD40 needed here to lub all these achy joints
OMG, this has me LMBO!!!

Time to get ready/feed the rats/pack a lunch.
xoxoxo

I will miss most of the bash. We're going out of town June 8-13. I will try and make the games on my phone at the hotel & I plan to make the challenges later when I'm back home again. Bad planning on our part to plan the trip the same week as the O'Birthday!

Today I'm busy packing and preparing for the trip. Will have to do some cooking, my little baby needs food while we're gone. I mean, he's only 27. :giggle4:

@faerywings and anyone who wants to know. Demolition derby history for our son. The Goshen Stampede ( a fair of sorts) started to do demo derbys about 12 years ago they got in touch with Mike because he has an auto repair business.
He buys a car or someone donates one. To get a car ready it has to have all interior stripped out but the drivers seat., all out side trim off. gas tank out and a 6 gal tank installed. Battery be relocated and fully boxed in to be secure. Hole in hood so if there is a fire it can be put out quickly-he uses a diamond for the logo of his business. They have to make engine kill switch on dash with a circle of red paint to show where it is. All glass removed! Doors and trunk need to be welded shut or chained.Has to be number on both sides--he is 22 the street # of his business. Sarah is wife and a few volunteers (this year granddaughter) paint to the theme of the year this year military os red, white and blue camoflauge and huge flag of the military seals...I loved to help paint but haven't been able to for 7 years now. Note:They also make one to give away. His car has won best in show for 11 years...all that work only to get smashed up. He has won a few heats but he is in it for the fun...but at 51 this mom would love it if he stopped. They make a big deal of this event- they have shirts made (200) that say Wreck it Rons that they give to friends and business associates. He made it half way last night then something happened to the car so he was out and had to sit in the car with watching the rest of the event...did you hear Mom's sigh of relief...he is safe!!!!

Soggy good Morning.
Pouring rain. Woke me up it was raining so hard. Started last night as we were watching tv. One minute it was sunny the next I was yelling "My laundry" and scrambling as fast as I could to get it off the line before it got wet. Thankfully the line is under the roofline and so it was still dry. The wind was not blowing so yeah cloths were dry.

Me too!! They're so fun!!! Hard to believe it was just last year we were all 19.

We will miss you but you will have so much fun on your vacation.

@BoatLady Debby that's super cool about the derby. How awesome that your son wins best in show so often. Great advertising of the business and a good bit of guy fun. Back in the early 80's that was the best part of race night at the track, when they did the demolition derby. Dirt track, cars everywhere, smash bang whoops car cant move. Ahhh memories. Love your sons paint job this year.

Not much happening today. Working on birthday party challenges but mostly just hanging out at home doing nothing.
Need to get some coffee. Have a wonderful day!

@AK_Tracy I'm glad you are up and working on challenges. Do you still have to wear compression pants??? Here is a really stupid question but can you put them on by yourself?
LOL 19 years old .... oh to be this smart and that age. We would be dynamo's!!! No stoppin' us. Just let me get my WD40 first.

Mike ended up in 2 heats last night so he also got to drive- smash the car he gave away in the final heat. but it stopped so it was short heat. Mom likes it cause he's out and not hurt.

@tanteva sorry you will miss the party but hope you are going somewhere nice for your vacation.

@faerywings Campground life not as good a boating life by a long shot!!!

Have a fun weekend all O's

You can always ask me anything. I love sharing info so everyone knows. :heartpumppink:God doesn't make mistakes, but he does allow challenges. Through these challenges I have found my goal is to inform people of crazy common rare diseases. I have several common diseases that the medical field has no idea what to do with. So the more we share the more we all learn. I'm technically rare in my diseases but they are more common than previously believed.

Yes, stupid compression. Have to wear them 12 on 12 off for at least two more weeks. But honestly, I will probably wear them daily
These are the ones the doc has me in the first two weeks. They're like pants, not see through at all

And yes, they really go that high :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: Grandpa pants, pulled all the way up to the ribs!!!
The ones I prefer are more like tights and fit under my regular clothes.

Plus I love the open toe as my toes can breath. I hate smushed toes. The first ones from the doc dont go over the ankle, but I do wear them over the ankle so it makes them odd to wear. But post surgery if I dont wear them over my heel I get a swelling line that hurts. If I have to leave my house I wear the tights. If I am home, like today I will wear the pants.

I can get them on myself but not the first two weeks. All those cuts mean I cant bend as needed and I need the compression pulled away from cuts as they go up and over. Its a struggle. My CMT also effects my thumbs so I have no strength in them to grip the pants which makes it harder to get them up but the stubborn girl in me tries and fights to find away to get them on. They are firm compression (20-30mg) so they're is a learning curve to get them on. They start inside out and once they're over the feet then you roll them up and over then do the shimmy to get them where they need to be. I think since February when they did the first surgery I have only had 5-7 full days of no compression. And I made sure they were home days of leisure. I fear (know) that I will always wear compression to some degree as my lymphatic system needs the assistance to keep from swelling up like a balloon.

Sorry I am late getting in to post here... been helping DD#1 with lots of paper work. Her hubby was so good yesterday .... he got my scanner to work with my computer!!! So, we had lots of paperwork to scan and to copy...etc... etc... etc. Finally finish that up and have a few minutes to pop and check on my challenge. All caught up on that one. DD#1's hubby plus his sister/hubby are all flying out tomorrow morning. DD will be staying several more days.

Weather around my state and into TX OK and MO has been wild. Had several tornados in the eastern part of our state and into the panhandle of TX (where my sis lives) the last 2 days and another tornado watch again this evening.

DD and hubby will going out with his sisters/hubby for supper. No cooking for me. I spent part of the afternoon making guacamole, Got a special on avocados - 3 bags with 6 in each bag.... all ripe and needed to be used today/tomorrow!!! Now I have 10 small tubs in the freezer and one in the fridge!!! dance4 :girldance::rotfl:

Gotta run... more work with DD before they leave for supper.

I have checked in for the birthday, but I have been busy with special activities for the 25th anniversary of the WWII museum here in New Orleans, LA. We attened a special musical event Friday nitght and today we attended the anniversary of the museum. It has been fun and very educational. We are both WWII buffs and both of our fathers were in WWII. Trying to get some scrapping in.
