The Things that cannot be explained
Believe me ...
Maybe you remember Uncle Werner? He played
the drums in a popular band on the weekends to
afford his first motorcycle. He lived with his parents
in a small, peaceful village near a castle that was
used as a sanatorium during the war.
Werner's mother had a penchant for the supernatural
and she always seemed a bit scary to me.
When Werner came home from an event one night,
he was surprised to see an older woman walking down the street
so late in the night. He recognized Aunt Grete from the upper part
of the village and they greeted each other as they
passed. The next morning he told his mother that
he saw Aunt Grete in the middle of the night.
His mother looked at him in surprise and said that
Aunt Grete had been dead for two years!
So, she predicted to Werner when he was a Teenager
that he would love a widow with two children one day.
20 years later, after a failed marriage, he met my mother,
who had moved to the village with me and my little brother
after my father's death. They were happy to the end …
