For the Day 12 Redo a Layout Challenge, we were asked to redo one of our own previous layouts at Oscraps. I picked "A Love Story" which shows a girl and her dog. This time, it's "a girl and her cat, a love story for the ages."
I started with a template from Anna Aspnes' WaterColor Template Album No. 2. Using clipping masks in Photoshop, I added my photos and clipped them to the appropriate places. I picked a template that had room for 3 photos, but then I decided to use 4, so I duplicated the top left frame, and used it for the bottom left frame. I also made the now-middle left frame the one on top.
Next, I pulled in an artsy background paper from the Love ValuePack No. 2 by Anna Aspnes, specifically the Loved ArtPlay Palette. The main color of this paper is similar to the background in my photos, which makes me (yes! that's me!) and my cat, Tempo, stand out more in the photos. Using a Color Overlay Blending Option, I recolored several stains and splatters to match the background in the photos, so they blend better.
Then, I layered some vertical painted hearts from PaintedHearts No. 3 by Anna Aspnes, and recolored them to match the gesso covered areas of the background. I used a heart brush from the Infatuated ArtPlay Palette, part of the Love ValuePack, in the upper right corner and recolored them a darker blue-green tone. I used an arrow, metal heart, white flower, and brad from the Loved ArtPlay Palette. And, finally, I sprinkled a bunch of pretty tumbled glass pieces from Rachel Jefferies' Unspoken Pretty Little Things.
