May Art Journaling Challenge, Week 2

The May AJ Challennge Week 2 has just been posted! Our Word Prompt for May is RENEW.

My example layout hopefully shows some semblance of the emotional journey to renewing myself that I've been on and continue to be on. My thought process, while I was creating it, was that I started off being sad, with tears falling. As I moved down the page, I tried to interject some more positive quotes, then when I got to the bottom of the page, I used the uplifted palms with the words "You lifted me up" arising from them.

Very beautiful piece of art dear Cheryl, full of the emotions you are experiencing as you travel this new road of being on your own. Keep moving forward, but if you need to pause for a bit then that is okay too, it is YOUR journey, you can move at your own pace! Fabulous work as always Cheryl, I love how you have finished the layout off with those hands and that verse, just perfect! ♥

My first thought when I spotted the thumbnail in the gallery was, holey moley that is powerful, I NEED a closer look, You have created a piece of art that melds the sorrow, the loss, the love, and the power of what angels on earth can do for you. I am gobsmacked because it instantly struck a chord with me. I feel like I've seen your soul and it is beautiful.

So much emotion. Just beautifully done. The large eyes and tear with the music staff running underneath. I can feel this so much. I cant get past the eyes and then the hands lifted up. The emotion just grabs you no matter where I look. Lovely layout Cheryl. ❤️

Thank you for your kind and meaningful words, Ona. They mean a lot to me and you have all kept me as"centered" as I could possibly be at this point. More than you'll ever know. I'm trying to interject a little more "brightness" into my AJ pages - thanks for noticing. :heartpumpred::beatingheart:

Oh my goodness, Jeanne. I'm gobsmacked right now at the power of your comments. That truly is what Art Journaling is all about and I'm so blessed to have this opportunity to scrap from my "gut" feelings. Art Journaling has truly helped me on my journey without my husband by my side. :heartpumpred::beatingheart:

Tracy, thank you for your wonderful and encouraging words. You totally "get" what I was trying to portray on my page. These challenges have helped me in my journey SO much and I appreciate all the love and support that I've gotten here. :heartpumpred::beatingheart:
