In Family, Marleen shares the story of her grandfather. Family depicts the drugstore that was owned by her grandfather. She created the vintage feel by converting the photo to black and white. The image is carefully framed with a bold line that is echoed in the title. The glasses add dimension and frame the proprietor. A variety of fonts add visual interest and journaling. While a grid brush holds the image to the page, the butterfly and threads direct our eyes up and down and prevent our escape from the details and depth of the design.
Thank you, Marleen, for sharing your stunning and inspirational artistry.
