Fair on September first,
Fair for the month.

I hope this is true because today was a beautiful day all the way around. Mark and I ate lunch at Cagney’s. The chicken and dumplings special was good, but Ilene would have called the dumplings “sad,” meaning they were chewy. I like them better fluffy. When she first told me that was how her husband liked them I had no idea what she was talking about! I think it is a WV thing!
What a great photo, Vicky! I love your background and cluster. I like my dumplings like grandma made them - rolled 1/4 inch thick, cut in 1" by 2" or 3" strips then rapidly boiled in the stock and served immediately while they are light and fluffy. But the next day they taste just a good but are chewy.
Mmmm...I have been craving chicken and dumplings for a few months now, but haven't had time to try making them again...I have only attempted it I think once or twice!! For me, I don't care if it is a drop biscuit or a flatter dumpling...I just want to EAT it all...LOL Thank you for using my papers!! It looks like it was a fun outing no matter what the dumplings were like <3
