Unfortunately, I made a big mistake and flattened the PSD file and saved it when I should not have. I can tell you the basic process but not the blend modes and opacities that I used.
I used all of the techniques described in Karen's tutorial. I began with a Watercolor Overlay and added a New Fill Layer >Solid Color and then blended that. Then I added the newsprint Mix and Match overlay and New Fill Layer > Gradient and blended that as well. (Ex I.) I dragged one of the edges onto my page and Blended that over the other layers. (Ex II.) Then I placed the word art and text onto the page and used Multiply blend mode on them (Ex III.)
