We were talking to Reed about frogs and all of a sudden a huge branch came crashing out of a tree. A widow maker. It was such a quiet place and the air was so still. It was shocking and unforgettable. Earlier, we stopped at the cattle guard on the way back from Portal Store, because I spotted a globe mallow.
