The painted look was created by clipping several of Joyful Heart Designs papers to the stain layers in Anna Aspnes template. I then merged the layers together and rotated the layer 90 degrees counter clockwise. (The blend mode is normal but I used the underlying layer slider to make the paint look more natural and allow the texture from the bottom layer to show. I then duplicated that layer, placed it below the original layer and added a white color overlay at 74% opacity.

Before changing the first layer, I duplicated that layer and flipped it horizontally. I used the underlying layer slider here as well. I also duplicated this layer, placed it under the top layer, gave it a white color overlay and set the blend mode to overlay.
