Process...
I created the grid design using the custom shape tool. I clipped the papers to the individual squares. The photo was added on top of the grid design, then masked to eliminate a lot of the background. The elf legs were added, then I "painted" the shoes red on a separate layer. The sun is clipped to the grid. I created the "A" pattern by using the scatter setting in the brushes panel. The edge overlay was added to finish the page.

ETA: Sorry, the first time I posted, I had the text layers turned off ... makes more sense now, I hope
