Before the New Year, I like to pick a single word that represents the energy that I'd like to attract over the coming year. And, for 2026, that word for me is: PLAY! Specifically, creative play.

I created this layout to serve two purposes: one, as a 12x12 layout -- and the other as a cover image for Facebook. The central horizontal third will become my Facebook header going into 2026.

I started with placing my photo on the canvas on the easel and masking it to match. Then I typed my words using the Mailston font. I used a glitter style from Aimee Harrison's Snow Magical Glitters to emphasize the word play. Everything else is from emeto designs' fabulous Discovering Love Kit.

After I positioned the easel, photo, and words where I wanted them, I started playing with adding embellishments such as the paintbrush, pencils, leaves, feather, and roses. I love how these roses seem almost like x-rays. They're ethereal and fun! I also added sequins, some heart scatter overlays, and some clear crystal seed beads.
