Hello, O-friends and fam! ♥
I hope everyone is feeling well-rested and ready for the weekend.
Another sunny and dry day is on tap for my area. The drought is getting worse and we now have fire and water restrictions. Everything was pretty crunchy outside yesterday.
The field trip went great! The kids seemed like they were having a lot of fun trying to find the hidden birds. I had printed 10 birds that would be common to North Jersey and they we approximately the same size as they would be in real life. I hid them in places they would likely be found-- the house finch was on the ground, the mourning dove on top of a fence. The groups had to find each bird, ID it, and then we discussed where we found them, if it was hard or easy to see them etc.
And then.... and then. It was all fun and games until Miss Chris tripped and fell on her wrist
We were playing a game where beach balls were "birds" and we had to help them "migrate" from a starting line to a finish line. Once they reached the end, we moved the finish line farther out. While I was walking, I tripped over the branch that was being used as the finish line, went down on hands and knees. I know it's not broken, it doesn't feel it at all. I am 99.9% sure I broke my right wrist when I fell on ice years ago. That was extremely painful in one specific spot, this is more generalized across my wrist. I have to say that another broken bone was a concern, I am fragile.
Today is going to be a rest day for my wrist so I can be in good shape for the GS program tomorrow. I'll go over the lesson and see if I can figure out the what and where and timing of the day.
What fun plans do you have for the weekend?
