Ha ha - that's my way right now!! Takes forEVER!!!Scroll and scroll and scroll and scroll......
I do use bridge a lot so that I can actually see the item.If a designer did its job well, he/she has named the elements by it's actual/real name like "flower" or "brad" and not just "element01" "element02" so if I can't find it in Bridge (I use that a lot but sometimes it drains energy from my computer and doesn't show everything) I just go to windows folder search and type "flower"
I will give me lots of things like papers or unrelated stuff but once you change the order of things by "type" it will show you PNGs of flowers.
Good luck in your search for the right bit![]()
I have kits from way back in 2006...do I ever use those? No. LOLYep, exactly what Nini said...I have been trying to name my elements as what they are, except for when I run into my metal decor situation, etc....those get named "metaldecor1.png"I HATE having to search for things because I have SO MUCH STUFF saved from the last 20+ years...it's too much...
Hello, my name is Jenn, and I am a digi-hoarderI hardly ever delete anything that I have created or purchased...usually it is only the REALLY bad CU stuff from like early 2000's that gets deleted

I'm on a Mac so I don't useDSee - and I have hundreds of gigs of kits - just too much to start now. LOLA thought I just had...you can totally start going in and labeling your downloads with keywords. Do you use ACDSee? It is the only image viewer I really have ever used because of Tim being into photography and he has always used it. But if you don't, you can still just rename files to what would be easier for YOU to find in the future. I know, that is a TON of work, but you could do it slowly as you use stuff for different layoutsI also create documents in Google Drive for things that I for sure want to remember that I have in certain categories

Ha ha - I have heard that before!I second using ACDSee, it is the only way I can find anything on my computer.
That said, I have a strong love/hate relationship with it because when it misbehaves, it *misbehaves* and makes me want to stab it. Repeatedly.![]()
I have done that before - put a keyword in and then if I have the kit - double prizes!!!Sometimes when I need something specific, I go to the stores and search. Then the store list the products that have that item & I usually get a hit for a kit I already have.
That's a great idea!If I am just looking for a theme, sometimes I will look at pages I have already created to see if I am inspired to use that kit again. Also it is just fun to look at my pages again.
I had done that a long time ago and maybe i should try that again - I'm constantly on the search for things like stitches and fasteners!I dont have as much stuff as most since I'm on year three of owning kits. But I have each kit saved whole in a file folder of its type, birthday, outdoors, pets, etc. They're all in a big folder marked "Full kits". Then I have another copy of the kits split up into items. I have folders like flowers, clocks, camera, gems, frames, people, etc and I put all the flowers from all the kits in one folder. So when I need a car, I go to the folder marked car/bike/truck and search through those to find the perfect car I want. I have found it works good for me, as I can search snowmen and find the perfect little guy then I see what kit he came from and maybe I need elements from that kit and can go to the full kits folder and see the kit in its entirety.
Yep, I have folders dedicated to those items. Its super time consuming but I find if I sort the moment I buy the kit its not too bad. It is when I dont and then have ten kits to sort that it gets overwhelming.I had done that a long time ago and maybe i should try that again - I'm constantly on the search for things like stitches and fasteners!
