It's August! I typically have mixed feelings about August, switching between enjoying the weather, mentally preparing for Autumn, being aggravated by the shorter days, and dismayed at the speed at which summer passes.
Seems like the harder I fight to hold on to summer, the faster it slips by. Remember how long summer vacations felt when we were kids? I wish I had that again.
But on the bright side, I got the day and date correct!
My day was kinda of chopped up, but it worked out well. I cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms first thing, then I went out in the yard. You'll be super proud of me, I *finally* got the dead leaves cleaned out next to the driveway. This was made more difficult because, at the same time, I had to pull out the dead/spent lilies and clip back the irises. Better late than never!
Gary hung up my solar light hummingbird wind chimes for me and they looked so pretty when it was dark. My mom got them for my birthday and I kind of forgot about them until I was putting laundry away and saw them on my dresser. Gray and I even sat on the patio together for a little while. We hadn't done that in years.
I found a second monarch caterpillar and was cheering him on. The first one doubled in size already. It is insane how fast they grow. I know, I am over the moon because of two caterpillars that may or may not survive to become butterflies, but hey, it's a very "me" thing to be. LOL!
Caitlyn got out of work early yesterday because NJ had a State of Emergency and her job is at a State College. I was making vegan chicken salad spring rolls for dinner and it was nice having her there to help me roll them up.
I am hoping that the weather clears up a little. BFF and I have plans to sit by her pool today. If it's cloudy, I am good to go. If it is raining, maybe we will meet halfway for coffee.
Who has exciting plans today? I bet that Tracy is going to be all over the new AJ challenge!
xoxo
